History
Established in 1979.
My hobby has been wood working for my entire life , along with lapidary, silversmithing, beekeeping and many more activities. But wood has always been my favorite pass time. Digging up burls, sawing logs, and drying walnut take up much of my time. I work doing more projects speculaing in design than commissioned work from clients and welcome design ideas from my clients.
Meet the Business Owner: Keith N.
As a young boy growing up in oklahoma, i spent my first years on my grandmothers (edna was known as squaw to family members) farm and have always loved nature. As a boy you could always find me in a field with a shovel and a gunny sack. I was a beekeeper for 30 years and had spare time in the off season. Woodworking has always been a lifelong hobby so I decided to make violins for a while. This 5 year, self imposed apprenticeship honed my carving and finishing skills. As a beekeeper, I came across many old walnut orchards and the people who take out older fields. I started a business that sold slabs to woodworkers for carving wood and instrument wood. The day I came across the designs of George Nakashima i started making thing in this style and am currently working through my eastern and a Japanese design period, with the making of tori gates ( symbolizing sacred spaces), and Shoji screens.
