Her two 4:00pm appointment came in and, she finished their hair before mine. Lastly, she burned my scalp and ear. I don't know if she was distracted or she left the hot comb on too long, but this is the first time a hairdresser burn my scalp and ear. Overall, she is very kind, but I wouldn't come back.

We communicated back and forth via text while I was at work and via voice when I had free time. She responded in a very quick, professional manner. She then recommended cornrolls and I agreed, setting the date for the appointment. I finally meet tree at her backyard, Sea Shed Saloon. That was a god-like experience on its own. The well built Shack ("Sea Shed" from that insurance commercial) had a tv, air conditioning, and well decorated with a heavenly theme, with the chair right in the middle. As special as the atmosphere was, that wasn't even the best part. Being used to to going to barbershops most of my life, I'm used to chatting it up with guys with barbershop talk. The conversations Tree and I had surely didn't disappoint. Conversating with her was definitely a blessing in disguise. I got so caught up in the conversation time went by fast. Tree's 30+ years of blessed braiding skills combined with a divine conversation was definitely an experience to remember. I'm definitely coming back when I'm in need for braids again. I highly recommend Styles by Tree if you're not only looking for braids but also a unique Sea Shed atmosphere with a sacred experience to remember.

There aren't very many stylists that know how to do Black hair where I live. I did a Yelp search and found Roberta. And what a blessing that was! We spoke at length on the phone about what I wanted. She explained her pricing clearly right up front. I knew exactly what to expect. Some stylists don't do that and you can get sticker shock when its time to pay. And she's mobile!!!! Last minute business trip and the day before Thanksgiving, I have a million things to do. Roberta came to my house, with all the necessary tools and I was able to get several things done at once. Let's talk about the cut. OMG! I wear a short cut. Roberta explained she was doing a scissor cut instead of a razor because of the curl pattern in my hair. She cut it in stages so I could get the exact length I wanted. I have had others just take a razor and shave it too low and tell me it will grow out. The entire process was like a visit with an old friend. I had one of the best cuts and color experiences in forever! And it didn't cost one bit more than I would have paid in a salon! Just to keep it 100%, I am super picky about my hair and tender- headed, and she's getting a review like this!
