I worked for Tabitha as a Home Health RN until recently. The other nurses and staff are amazing,…read morebut management is abusive and toxic, and human resources as a whole does nothing but cover themselves legally. Although Tabitha advertises itself as an equal opportunity employer, I was refused reasonable accommodations and discriminated against and harassed because of my disability to the point where I was forced to resign. I would never want someone who is taking care of my loved ones to be subjected to that. I have ADHD and PTSD; I disclosed this to my manager upon hire. 2-3 months into training, my manager and, seemingly randomly, the QA manager began weekly meetings where my performance was critiqued. At this point, I was 1 of 3 new RN hires and the only new RN hire required to learn the admission process (a very detailed 4-6 hour long process.) I was given minimal training on this process, and when I asked for a checklist (a reasonable accommodation for my ADHD) I was refused. I was required to complete this process again and again, without accommodations, at least twice weekly. Management began telling me that all of my documentation needed to be completed by the end of the day, when all of the other nurses were given up to 5 days, even if this meant I was forced to work 12 hours with no notice. None of the other nurses were forced to do this. During weekly meetings, management would spend the entire time gaslighting me, stating that the other new nurses were being required to do the same things yet I was the only one failing. This is a complete lie, as the other new RNs did not learn admissions yet and were not independently case managing. The point of those meetings was to make me feel as inadequate as possible, and leave a paper trail of me "failing," even though I was further along than the other new RNs. Meetings were as degrading as possible, and often left me in tears for my following patient visits. At one meeting, it was determined by management that I was not excited enough to go over my schedule for the next week. After asking for several different reasonable accommodations and being subsequently refused, I replied "I guess" when asked if we should look at the following week's schedule. I got written up for saying "I guess" and was told that it the tone of my voice constituted "unbecoming conduct." This write up then gave management enough to place me on a formal improvement plan which was never lifted, even when I met all the goals set forth. It is quite clear to me that I was treated differently because of my disabilities, and was refused the opportunity to be successful with this company because of those. Tabitha could easily have granted any of the reasonable accommodations I requested: a detailed checklist, adequate training, safe caseload, reduced work hours to 36 hours/week, and several others. These accommodations were not an undue hardship, and I have to wonder why Tabitha refused them as an organization supposedly dedicated to vulnerable individuals.

I highly recommend Synergy HomeCare of Lincoln. I called several other agencies in area, and…read moreSynergy was the only one that provided the service I needed. I live out of town and stayed in Lincoln for 90 days and needed transportation to Omaha several times a week. The staff were wonderful and polite and had excellent drivers. Would use them again if I needed too.

Synergy provided care for my child for about four months. During this time we experienced:…read more -scheduling issues (had providers show up when we didn't have one scheduled, never were able to replace care when one of their providers cancelled, even with notice) -failure to follow through with questions/concerns -frequent no-shows from caregivers, with problems with approximately 1/3 of scheduled visits. If I didn't have an extremely flexible employer I would have absolutely lost my job due to this. -unprepared caregivers (no training offered, no experience working with clients like my son). -failure to preserve confidentiality (shared details about my son/family with people not involved in his care in any way) -spoke inappropriately and negatively about my son to various caregivers -safety issues (one provider lost my son, another allowed him to run into the street, one smoked in the car while my son was there) -inadequate documentation of visits/issues -very judgmental (for example, when we pointed out that we don't punish after the fact for disability related behaviors on the advice of our team, and use other specific strategies instead) -and, most worrying, a caregiver who I caught screaming profanities at my son during a disability-related meltdown, which the owners were basically unconcerned about. I'm grateful that I was home at the time and able to intervene, as it seems clear that this would have escalated otherwise. Please don't entrust your loved one's care to these people. They are wholly unable to meet their clients' needs or even ensure their safety. It's also worth noting that several of the five star reviews come from Synergy's owners or family members, not from clients.

FirstCare Home Health Ha! What a name!…read more I was a client of FirstCare for about 22 years. When I started with FirstCare they really did care about their clients and their attendants. Their attendants were being paid $17 dollars an hour during the week, and $19 dollars on the weekends. The owners would cover open visits. Heck, I even let FirstCare take care of MY own Grandmother. Then 10 years ago FirstCare went from being the best agency in Lincoln NE to SHIT. Suddenly the owners stopped caring about their attendants. FirstCare cut all of the attendant's pay down to $11 dollars an hour. They were treating their clients like shit. In the office the staff openly will gossip about their clients and attendants. Whenever we (the clients) would complain about something and we were to either deal with it or leave. To make a long story short If you do choose FirstiCare be prepared for no calls and no one showing up for some of your visits, or late attendants, because the schedulers in office overbook the attendants, or the office will tell you that you have to find somebody else to help you because no one on your team can come. If you can't find anybody else yourself they will leave you in your wheelchair over night, or they will ask you if they can come early. If you have a social life you won't anymore. FirstCare DOES NOT CARE! I currently left FirstCare and I'm a lot happier.
