It was trhe perfect destination for lunch as we wanted lunch but not a major sit down place as we were later than we thought. I learned about Carrot Express from a Yelp event and I knew it was perfect for her. We both had 1/2 Tuna on a Ciabatta roll and soup. I loved the Gaspacho. It was light and perfectly made, fesh veggies and the proper amount of vinegar. I generally do not eat tuna salad in restaurants because they use chunk white tuna. Carrot Express is fresh and white tuna as was surprisingly excellent. The addition of avocado and a small amount of alfalfa sprouts waas different and tasty.,tomato with tuna is always lovely. Sister in law felt the soup was tasty and she also agreed the tuna tuna was excellent. As a first time customer my sister in law was given a piece of carrot cake. We shared and completely loved it. I usually am not a fan. I guess my previous experiences were poorly made because this was excellent! Thank you Carrot Express for a tasty experience.

The low spot was the food: The Zucchini Chips were hot and fresh. A good sized portion. Something was off in the seasoning. For the first time in my life, I could not eat the macaroni and cheese. The pasta was fine, but the Gouda cheese was too mild and too sparse. Our pizza (The Smashed Meatballs) was the best thing we ate. The pizza was perfectly cooked, the crust was perfect and the sauce mild but nice. Overall the menu was too pretentious for the preparation. Too bad.

The coffee was good, the place was clean and cozy, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. I also really like the modern design it feels fresh and stylish. One of my favorite things about this spot is the location. I've always loved this plaza because it reminds me of a little Italy, with charming streets that are perfect for a leisurely stroll. Espresso Joint fits right in and feels like a great addition to the area! The crowd seemed mostly young, with lots of students hanging out, which gives the café a youthful, lively vibe. My only minor downside is that there aren't too many seating options, so it might be harder to find a spot during busy hours. Overall, a lovely place to grab a good coffee and enjoy the atmosphere of this beautiful plaza!
