Kearney Mansion Museum

Kearney Park is a regional park, operated by the County of Fresno rather than Fresno City Parks and Recreation. The county leases the park property from the University of California who inherited it from M. Theo Kearney upon his passing in 1906. There is plenty of parking, even on the street, close to your picnic table. Although tables are scattered throughout the park, there are a couple of large venues for group picnics. There is also the tea house which is a covered picnic pavilion with a fire pit. Lots of restrooms scattered throughout the park. There is a children's playground on the west end of the park. Kearney Mansion sits in the middle of the property and is operated by the Fresno Historical Society. Tours are given on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Be sure to check their website before going if you are planning to tour the mansion.

We always set up at this park in March for civil war reenacting. The covered bridge is our main objective . Setting up canvas tents, a real 1865 campsite is fun. There are great places to hike and or BBQ. You can pan for gold, I have found some color. The bathrooms are kept clean by the Army Corp of Engineers. Right up the street is the 50's roadhouse for breakfast or a full bar for an awesome Bloody Mary. Meet up with the rangers in the main interpretive center , they know so much about the area. You will love this place.

A true gem of a park in Fresno County! $5.00 park admission fee per car with plenty of free open grassy park space to walk, bike, stroll with your dog, etc, picnic tables, and lots of bathrooms. Make sure you take a tour of the Kearney Historical Society French style mansion built in 1906. Visit the website for details, hours, etc. Didnt see any homeless and park security is visible. Bring a jacket and picnic lunch and enjoy!

Great big spacious park. I go there every year for the renaissance faire. There's lots of room for kids to run around. I'm not sure if they allow dogs but there is plenty of room for them to. The park is also home to the Kearney Mansion, which is a museum in its own right. All in all a very nice park.

My family had a wonderful day exploring the botanical garden. If you stop inside the visitor center…read morebefore the garden they have an activity for the kids. My boys really enjoyed the list of things to look for while exploring. On the list we found bugs, butterflies, lizards, flowers and a few more. The garden has a few shady spots that were much needed for a break from the heat. They also have a little section of music instruments to play. We didn't get to try them but someone was playing a beautiful melody while we were there. When we were done exploring the beautiful garden we headed back to the visitor center. The boys both got stickers for completing their activities list. Inside the visitor center they also sell some beautifully crafted cups, soaps, honey and other trinkets. My boys picked out a few toys and I go their honey. The honey is actually really delicious.

It was always a great way to spend some outdoor time and get fresh air. The new building in the botanical garden is incredible and 100% community funded! That means the volunteers and donors of this space fully own everything! With zero government red tape, they're able to fast track art events, adult ED classes, garden parties, and create jobs for the community. The new building is beautiful and comes with a small gift shop, selling local artist pieces, indoor meeting/recreation area, and an shaded outdoor patio. The patio is public and available for anybody who is walking the trail. We actually ate our lunch here, before walking the botanical garden trail for a nature scavenger hunt. They also cleaned up a few of the trails and opened up a few more areas for outdoor events. This is a great addition to the Clovis community and if you haven't been yet, get yourself here and support this beautiful botanical garden!

Our favorite spot is the DOG PARK on the south end of the soccer field. Despite the constant struggle to keep the grass nice, it has recently been remodeled adding features for the dogs to play on. Lengthwise long enough to play a good game of fetch with your pooch to tire them out or just let them play with the mix of other dogs. Most owners here are friendly, supportive, and helpful. Some have even donated toys, scoopers, bags, etc to make this place nice for visitors. **Reminder- It's best to unleash your dog before entering the inner gate AND to keep an eye on them while they play so that nobody gets out of hand(Dogs will be dogs).** This really does seem like the most effective method of helping your dog become socialized with people and other dogs. Some dogs are more cautious, fearful, protective, or defensive by nature or the way they have been treated in the past. Being most impressionable in their early months, it is important to begin exposing them to many of the things you want them to be comfortable with. Of course they need to have their shots first, but around 3-4 months old, they may be ready to start venturing into the dogpark and begin trying out other good experiences (neighborhood walks, car rides, meeting friends animals, training classes, and of course bathing/grooming at home or business). [Check out my review of Top Dog Pet Wash] I would also recommend Woodward Park dog park for ppl with large, small, or new dogs. Although much bigger than Beamer, it has separate enclosed areas to help your pup acclimate to this new environment. Remember to please keep these places nice for our kids, pups, and neighbors by being courteous with others and picking up after yourselves and your pups.

This park we really love cause of the water park , skate park, basketball court and much more …read more It's definitely showing age and is in need of repairs to the point I almost gave it 3 stars . I also wish they posted time and days the water park would be on. They used to if you looked at the city website but I can't find it now. This park has a lot to offer, it has an inclosed area for dogs to play and a big field to play soccer or tag football. The play ground needs to be updated and better thought out. Yet, still nice to have for those hot summer days .
