This is a public art piece by Spanish artist Manolo Valdés. He is known for his artistic style that…read morecombines art with history. Valdés has been featured in many museums and galleries. His pieces are displayed in Valencia, Spain; Place Vendome, Paris; Berkeley Square, London; Taipei, Taiwan and Dubai and now in Miami Beach. Valdés is an internationally known artist and his work is supposed to represent multicultralism in the city. This sculpture features a head surrounded by butterflies. Valdés inspiration came from a chance encounter with butterflies in New York. "One day, while strolling in Central Park, I saw a group of butterflies that had landed on top of a sculpture and the idea of the headpiece was born." There is a larger version of this sculpture in Sunny Isles called Mariposas. I love the whimsical nature of this piece. I am also a fan of Valdés Infanta Margarita statues. Butterflies is dressed up extra special this week in celebration of the floral art exhibition Fleurs De Villes Voyage, on display at the nearby Bal Harbour Shops. This years theme, Voyage was inspired by Baroness Karen Blixen whose memoir inspired the film Out of Africa. Some of the figures are historical while others are global. I especially liked Amelia Earhart located on the second floor. She took off on her final flight from Miami. Humphrey Bogart from Casablanca is holding court on the first floor in Rick's Cafe and a stunning Geisha and her Japanese cherry blossom tree are on the third floor celebrating the Cherry Blossom Festival in Kyota, Japan. Some of the entrances to the stores are wreathed in more flowers while there are even more surprises surrounding the mall. Before you leave you can vote for your favorite scene in the ACCESS Suite. Your vote will give you a chance to win a prize. During this Voyage the mall is hosting special events including an afternoon tea, craft Titanic-inspired botanical cocktails at the St. Regis Bar, special spa treatments at the The St. Regis Bal Harbour Spa, a special dining experience at the Artisan Beach House in The Ritz-Carlton Bal Harbour,a complimentary floral scented themed yoga class and a special floral aromatherapy session in the Exhale Spa, a children's floral art class, and a pop up floral market in the center courtyard. They charge you hotel fee $150 even though you don't use anything you can't even use the pool for Shabbos because you're a observant and they charge it for you. Valet parking is very expensive. It's $40 a day. The only good about this hotel is if you are observant that you have a way to pray Shabbos, don't waste your money and go someplace else for that money maybe an Airbnb Also, the breakfast is nothing to talk about not enough bread very slow service no assortment of sliced cheese No cake, no pastries even though the breakfast is free I had better breakfast in cheaper hotels

Most were asleep at that time. This was national news for weeks. Only three individuals were pulled alive from the debris in the immediate aftermath. It was very upsetting to us as we live very close by there and frequently drive by. This happened 4 years ago. There is a new building going up now. Surfside is a small one-square mile oceanfront area that is a walkable, residential beach town located between Miami Beach and Bal Harbour. It is known for its quiet, family-friendly atmosphere, pristine beaches, luxury oceanfront condos and charming downtown with unique shops and restaurants. It offers a mix of luxury and small-town appeal, with beautiful parks, and public art installations like the "turtles" on a corner of Collins Ave. It is so pretty there during the Christmas season with all the lights up. Many tourists stay in Surfside instead of South Beach because it is more peaceful and quiet.

I think it was a really good range of drinks, desserts, and food. Even though that coffee cup looks small, that's a full serving size and it was strong! I really really appreciate that this tour not only accommodated for vegetarians but also chose options for me that were realllllly good. Instead of the cubano, I had these fried plantain cups stuffed with veggies. They were SO good and seasoned well! And the spinach and cheese empanada was also amazing. My friend who got the meat options also loved her food. This tour is the perfect way to learn more about Cuban history, the history of the neighborhood, see all the street art, watch a game at domino park, and experience some of the best food in Miami. The time went by so quickly and it wouldn't have been the same experience without Mariela as our guide. She is so passionate and knowledgeable. Her energy was so upbeat. I think this a great tour for visitors who want to learn about a culture that shapes Miami as well as locals who want to learn about a neighborhood they may not know the ins and outs of. Mariels brought Cuba to us and we can't thank her enough! We highly recommend this tour!

Fabulous hotel with wonderful service and nice people but if you're going to try and get a good…read morenights sleep, don't spend thousands of dollars to go there. We were there for four nights and after three nights of not being able to sleep because of people having parties on their balcony several floors away and next-door to our room, we notified the staff. On that third night they said they sent somebody but they didn't quiet down next door and kept trying to come into our room through the adjoining door. We were assured the party had left and our fourth night was very quiet. Dallas said she would escalate our situation and that it was not acceptable. When we left, we were told that we received an email and we did not and that we were offered a ride to the airport which we were not, and we just left with a big bad taste in our mouths after choosing this property for our respite. It again it's a beautiful property, but the staff did not handle the situation and admittedly they didn't learn of the noise until the third night but we lost three nights of sleep and would never go there again or recommended to any of our friends. The only thing we ever offered was a soft pillow for that fourth night. Definitely not worth the money left the hotel with a bad taste in our mouths. As we were leaving, we were also told our situation would be escalated. Offering a ride to the airport for three nights of no sleep is not an adequate resolution. Not impressed!
