I came in for a laser procedure to reduce the appearance of veins in my face. I had only noticed a…read morefew around my nose and one on my lower cheek. The lady who did the procedure was nice and explained that there would be white dead skin like scabs when it was done but that was normal. Nothing else was explained beforehand. After 20 minutes of the worst pain the procedure was over. When I looked in a mirror it looked like a cat had shredded my face. There were deep gouges in my cheeks. The lady said after care was not to wash my face that day, pay dry when I do wash, and use vitamin E to help the healing processes. Later that night I was in so much pain I texted her and asked if I could cold compress. She said yes. I waited three days to use makeup or face wash. Three weeks later I texted the lady again and said my face was still very red and the spots were swollen. She brought me two after care products to help. Another three weeks later and I am badly scarred and now seeing a dermatologist to try and see if there is any way to fix my face. I followed all the aftercare and was not even aware that this procedure could lead to such bad scarring. I'm extremely sad my face is now horrendous and I really believe the procedure was not done correctly and was potentially too deep. This has shaken my confidence and I use makeup every day now to cover up what looks like acne scarring. Please do not use for any procedures.

At that point I tried calling the salon thinking maybe they hadn't realized the door was locked. This was at 8:10. No answer. I continued to wait until 8:20 before calling and leaving a voicemail explaining the situation letting them know I would be leaving. I ended up waiting until 8:35 before leaving but still no one arrived. I have text proof of my appointment so I know it was not an error on my end. Unfortunately this was my first time ever going here so I have no information on how well their services are but I have no plans on ever going back considering I have not heard back from anyone from the salon after leaving a message. Very disappointed.

I recently moved to Decatur and was looking for a place to maintain my eyebrows. After doing some research, I chose Chic Nail Lounge because it had great reviews, especially for eyebrow services. I booked an appointment for an eyebrow and lip wax. When I arrived, I explained to the technician that this was my first time getting my eyebrows waxed, that I usually get them threaded, and that I was nervous. I specifically asked for a simple clean-up--not shaping or thinning, just a light touch-up. Unfortunately, my experience did not go as expected. After completing the first eyebrow, I immediately noticed that it was much thinner than I have ever had in my life--far beyond a "clean-up." It felt like most of my eyebrow had been removed. This was really upsetting, especially since I had clearly communicated what I wanted. The lip waxing was also not done carefully. There were still noticeable hairs left behind, and the waxing itself felt very harsh. The next day, after washing my face, I noticed that I had developed two small scars on my lip area, which I believe were caused by the waxing process. To their credit, I was not charged for the eyebrow service, and I only paid for the lip wax. I do appreciate that gesture. However, I am now left waiting for my eyebrows to grow back and dealing with irritation and scarring on my lip. Overall, I was really disappointed with my experience. As someone new to waxing and new to the area, I was hoping for a more careful and attentive service--especially after explaining my concerns upfront. I hope this feedback helps others who may be considering trying eyebrow waxing here for the first time.
