KC India Mart is definitely not a hyped up Indian store in the area but is pretty impressive when it comes to buying snacks, Indian sweets and puffs. Sweets- I like to buy Indian sweets from here because I've always found them delicious and fresh. Frozen section- They have a wide variety of frozen vegetarian packed meals like rolls etc. but I haven't tried it out yet. Poultry- I've always found their raw curry cut chicken neatly cut and arranged and freshly wrapped. Green vegetable section- Has fresh vegetables most of the time however on certain occasions they might not be as fresh. Chaat section- I've tried their bhel and ragda puri and both were delicious. Bhel was the best I've ever had. They also serve fresh puffs and alu (potato) samosas (displayed near the cash counter and packed as per customer demand) and their chicken puff is to die for. But, I would sincerely prefer if they packed the puffs in to-go boxes rather than in plastic bags. I would love for the puffs to remain flaky when I go home and eat them. I visit many Indian stores and KC India mart is definitely a nice store to visit. read more

Our go to store to buy Indian grocery ! It is conveniently located close to Costco and Sam's club. You can club your shopping. :) It's always super crowded and there's a long waiting line to bill your items. The products are good and fast moving because of the number of people. Vegetables and greens are fresh. Best part of the store is their fresh and hot samosas. They are just fantastic with perfect spice level. It's to die for. We never get out of the store without packing few samosas. You gotta try it. Another best thing about this store is the small cafe inside it. If you are from Banglore, India you know how we all miss Masala puri in the US and how hard it is to find good masala puri in restaurants. This cafe has great chaat items for reasonable price and it tastes very very good. But it is open only in the evenings and they have selected menu each day. Must try if you stay close by! read more

Brought my kids in, as we go to the MyGym next door, and my kids love Indian food. Son's current fave is Chicken Tikka Masala, and daughter wanted Chicken Biryani. My son likes a little spicy, but my daughter doesn't as much, so since it was our first time here, I ordered both dishes "mild". The Masala was, but the Biryani was very spicy. The kids split the Masala, and I ate the Biryani, since I like to sweat when I eat. My kids absolutely loved the Masala! Kids said that they want to eat there next week again! read more

I buy some grocery items from time to time and I wouldnt say it was cheap but overly priced like some other Indian stores. The best part of this place is all the snacks they have at a reasonable price. They are AWESOME. Ive tried Ambica's stuff and much prefer the flavor of the samosas and everything else at this location. Just head up to the counter and order the goods, then hit the road. One caveat, if you want chutney to dip your snacks in, you'll have to buy that from the shelves separate. read more

The register checkout person was very rude and disrespectful to me when I asked him to check that the products were kept at 11.99$ but he was charging them 21.99$ , actually that product was not kept with correct labels, he said everyone should read each label before grabbing that item. Imagine how long will that grocery trip will be, well all other shops in America take ownership and responsibility for what price they display and how they keep their shelf's stocked. May be they are overworked paid less, not sure.... but one thing is sure that I wont be going there any more!!! I bought chicken biryani and goat biryani for $10 each after 4 PM. We buy many times. The quality has gone down. There is only 1 drumstick and a small piece of chicken thigh and not much goat meat. I will not go back there again. Maybe since there are more people buying, they did not care for quality any more. read more

This market is conveniently located at 133rd and Antioch, just north of the Sam's Club and across the street from the HyVee. It was clean and well organized and had everything I was looking for, including rose essence and rose sharbat syrup, a wide range of spices, grains and legumes, and a good selection of flours and rice. Maybe not the largest Indian market in the K.C. area, but as long as it has what you're looking for, who cares? They have some fresh vegetables, ice creams, and a small choice of pre-packaged halal chicken and goat meat. A good choice if you're shopping for Indian/Pakistani goods. The one that you always thumb through but can only make a few dishes out of because you can't find the right kind of lentils, spices, flour or veggies? Enter KC India Mart. To be honest, I really don't know much about Indian food other than it is delicious and I found traveling through India to be culinary heaven. I probably cook Indian three or four times a month and to date I've been ok with substituting things, but from here on out it's all about KC India Mart. They have a good selection of dry goods and frozen veggies as well as a very small section of fresh veggies. I was super thrilled to see frozen paneer as I have considered making it myself, but didn't really want to learn cheesemaking at this point in my life. I love the snack mix section at the front of the store, there are a few mixes that I fell in love with while spending time on cross-country Indian trains and I was really excited to see those here. They also have some Bollywood movies and household products. I'm sure Josephine J's review is more accurate as I haven't really explored the Indian markets in other parts of the US, but just having this market in the KC metro area is exciting enough for me. read more

Great place to shop for groceries but a terrible place for Chaat and snacks. My friend had a Samosa Chaat which was tasteless and cold as if it were straight out of freezer. I had a pav bhaji where the bread was dry & stale and the bhaji was bland. It will be the first and last time we will ever try Chaat at the place. Disappointed. read more

This place ok for shopping for Indian groceries but when compared to prices around the town with different other stores is expensive. I have bad experience buying baby goat meat of two pounds I found half a pound of fat in it. Baby goat should have minimum fat in it, so be careful when guys buy meat. I do not suggest anybody to buy meat from this place. After expanding the business into larger space they charging customers high price. read more
