Not only are the gardens beautiful, they also have an indoor area with a coffee shop, gift shop and gathering area. You'll also find wooded trails, sculptures, water features, a pond and a large toy train track winding through a replica of historic Overland Park. The cost is $7 for adult entry, cheaper for children. They close at 5pm most days, which is the only thing I was not a fan of.

If you're planning to visit after Christmas, I'd recommend calling ahead to check what will still be available so you're not disappointed. I'm sure the arboretum is beautiful during the daytime.
