After two cracked pipes in the foundation of our home, we knew eventually we would need a whole house repipe . After having multiple companies come out we decided to go with Repipe Specialists . They seemed like the best deal, the salesman was very personable and explained every step of the process plus they also do the drywall repair after the whole house repipe is done.
Unfortunately, that's where the positivity ends. Apparently the Repipe Specialists use a subcontractor called KBR plumbing. We were scheduled for a Whole house repipe on June 5 between the hours of about 8 AM to 3 PM plus it could take more than one day. They ended up getting it done in one day which we thought was good news, as our water was able to be turned back on. In hindsight, this might have showed that they were rushing through the project.
We were told if we have any questions to contact Lisa at the front office and they listed a phone number. After our Repipe was completed I tried to call this number to see when we could set up the inspection. Apparently, Lisa was out of town for two weeks so it led back to the gentleman that did the Whole house repipe. He was hard to get ahold of as he was working on other projects so this made it challenging on the communication end. But finally, we got an inspection scheduled. On Monday, June 10, we failed our first inspection with Pasco County as there was multiple things that were done only halfway or not done at all. For example, some of the old pipes were filled in others were not. They were also missing required braces for new fixtures. When I tried to get a hold of someone from KBR to come back out and fix these issues, they said they were already busy completing other re-pipes. I completely understand this however, with a three-year-old running around at home. it's very hard to have exposed walls, pipes, electric items for multiple days in a row. Eventually Brad came back out to make the changes. He was very upset, though, and complaining that the Pasco county inspector must be "by the book". But honestly, if KBR went by the book, then we wouldn't have this problem.
We had to set up a second inspection, they were able to come back out on June 11. However, we failed the inspection again. I was beyond upset at this point when I called to see when they could come out to make changes, they were very busy. They finally said they could come out in the morning the following day and we were able to finally get a passing inspection.
If only it ended there! We then had to try to get a hold of them again although the main lady Lisa was still out of town, to set up the drywall specialist to come out. There was so much confusion in the scheduling process on their end. He wasn't really sure when the drywall guy was available and when he wasn't. So the date changed multiple times. Once the man finally came out he was very sweet and did a great job with the drywall repairs.
Unfortunately, while Brad and his team were here, they also hit one of our child locks on the back door that I had already spoke to him about. This caused the paint on the door itself to form a bubble. The door was then unusable from the garage because you couldn't open the handle all the way. I also signed off acknowledging that one of our sinks was loose at the beginning of this process, however, by the end the sink was unusable because the whole faucet would lean all the way forward when you tried to turn it off. They also did a horrible job repairing where the previous bib was on the side of the house.
Although we did not pick KBR plumbing, we still experienced the side effects of it through the overarching company, Repipe specialists. I would definitely not recommend them moving forward. read more
