Cons: 1.)After successfully clearing the clog in my central linefor $349, my toilet now leaks! When I called them to return, they accepted zero responsibility and their "solution" was an additional $200+ to completely rebuild my toilet tank instead of simply replacing the tank gaskets. There was a LOT of gaslighting until i explained that my husband is a building inspector and we aren't stupid. I understand that gaskets fail and that moving a two piece toilet puts extra strain on the gaskets. Instead, Will started explaining that he had identified a leak on my water line but didn't document it or inform me of it when clearing the clog initially. This was the conversation BEFORE he even arrived back to my house to look at the toilet leak. The actual leak was NOT on the water line at all. Then he tried to say that the gaskets were old and all the tank components were old (they were less than 2 years old, even though the toilet is much older!) and they just failed coincidentally after he moved the toilet. Then he tried to intimate that the toilet was already leaking, which is ridiculous. 2.) This company doesn't accept credit cards (cash, check or Zelle only!) and this was not communicated until AFTER they arrived! Pros: good communication prior to arrival time, respectful and polite technician, tidy work area after job completion I called ALCA Plumbing because of a clogged central drain in my home. We have metal pipes so this is not an uncommon situation. My husband usually handles this himself so we don't have a regular plumber that we use. It's important to us to try to support local businesses so we called ALCA. Will is the technician who arrived. My husband had previously identified the approximate location of the clog to save time. Will determined that pulling the toilet was the most efficient way to snake the drain line. This is in a tiny bathroom. After assessing the situation, he then informed me that they didn't accept credit cards! I had already waited a day and a half for this appt and needed the use of my bathroom so i had little option but to agree. He completed the job quickly and cleared the clog and replaced the toilet and was on his way. Immediately after he left, i noticed some water behind the toilet but assumed it was from the repair. It became clear that the toilet was leaking with every flush. When i called the owner back, Will returned the following day and that's when the gaslighting started. I am not claiming that Will did anything wrong to deliberately cause a leak. Gaskets do fail over time and moving a two-piece toilet does strain those gaskets. The only remedy offered, though, was a $200+ tank rebuild. Will was just trying to do his job as he was a new hire. The owner just lost a potential long-term customer as well as the business of my family and friends. read more

Josh came on time, assessed the issues, and addressed them quickly and efficiently. He double checked for leaks several times after the work was completed. I got a new disposal installed and a toilet's insides replaced, including bolts, tubing and fill valve, for a reasonable price. I noticed our water heater was leaking and call Alca Plumbing. Anthony was prompt and courteous and very accommodating. He called me back within minutes of giving him the info of our heater and told me he would be out the next day to install a new unit. Our existing unit was a hybrid heater but Anthony explained to me that for our household a hybrid was overkill so we decided to go with a more traditional heater. Anthony called me next day to tell me upon calling the manufacturer of our old unit it was still under warranty (9 years old) and that it would be replaced with a new hybrid unit. This saved us almost $400! Technician Josh came out next day removed old, installed and tested the new unit. Everything works great! I would not recommend this company. I called to request an estimate for a bathroom renovation project. Someone answered the phone and see they would be over the next day. No one ever showed. For some reason, I called back. I get some to come out this time. I show the plumber my bathroom and he agrees to send me an estimate for the work. We needed shut off valves to install a new dishwasher. We also needed a new hot water heater. ALCA Plumbing answered the call, and was able to provide next day service. Anthony just stopped by with his associate and literally manhandled the upstairs bathroom's toilet and installed an entire new system inside the toilet bowl. Because my toilet had an unique water valve, he drained and took apart the entire toilet bowl and put it down sideways and had his associate bring upstairs a variety of types so he could match up the valve, apply custom bolts, etc. A true master of his craft. A month prior, I drove around Tampa and even stopped at a plumbing supply store (where plumbers go for supplies) to find the damned broken pieces that the toilet needed. After another month of spending time on the internet, I realized how inefficient I was. Seriously, save yourself the time and trouble and money, and call Anthony/Alca up. Their prices are more than reasonable compared to what other plumbing companies charge. It just DOESNT get better than this. read more

I like to use LOCAL companies because it helps the LOCAL economy. I chose ALCA Plumbing Co. Located at 3512 Foxwood Blvd. in Wesley Chapel simply because it is a small business and local. The tech, Miguel was friendly and did a great job. I asked him about a couple of other services. He called his boss to get pricing. I thought the pricing was outrageous so, I declined. I called a couple of other Plumbers and was able to get the same services I was looking for and saved 70% compared to ALCA's pricing and could have saved an additional $100 if I would have NOT hired them to replace a simple cartridge. ALCA is now on my " DO NOT DO FUTURE BUSINESS WITH" List. The 3 stars above are only for the excellent attitude and quick work of the tech, Miguel and the fact I did not do comparative pricing on the cartridge which cost me $210.00. So Anthony installed a water softner for me in my garage. It was couple of months ago. The work he did was good. but he did not follow code and the plumbing was in violation according to city rules. There was a tiny leak in the back of the softner which I did not catch. I called and left him message, and received no response. If he did something wrong, it is his responsibility to come and correct it. But he has never called me back. I am now going to hire another professional to repair the damage he caused and spend more than I had anticipated. I paid anthony over $600 for the job. Do your research before hiring. He has good reviews on here, but he clearly does not know code violations exist. read more

I needed a new hot water heater. I'm VERY happy I decided to call ALCA Plumbing. My call was answered quickly and we set a same-day appointment. The guy arrived on time, friendly and instantly helpful. As a weird coincidence, my neighbor showed up outside -- it turned out that he called ALCA plumbing too, for his own issue, and his appointment was set that day as well. My neighbor has been a customer for a while apparently, and I can understand why. These guys know what they're doing and they stand by their work. Now, ALCA is not the cheapest -- and their payment policy is a throwback to 1989 (cash or check only) - but, whatever. Bottom line: I would not hesitate to call ALCA again.
