The staff here are very friendly, caring and attentive, and keep you updated on your child's progress, providing helpful feedback on how they can improve. We have tried other swim schools, but we really enjoy the atmosphere and welcoming environment at Swim Time! Plus, our Son learned here as well and earned his Bronze Cross and Medallion. Favourite time: Sunday nights from 6:30-9 they do a women and girls only swim. Very comfortable so long as you don't mind swimming freestyle plaid/thread-the-needle laps around kids playing ring toss and old ladies with flutterboards. Caveat: I have *never* successfully swum straight laps here for more than about 10 minutes at a time, and once an old lady spat on the floor in the shower.

At the City of Toronto prices, I'm considering using it as a gym to do certain things, and go elsewhere for classes. As long as you sign up for at least 3 months, I think its about $35-40 per month. (This review is for the gym only, but the Rec Centre is a huge complex with lots available). - Good amount of free weights and machines. Well organized. - Good instructional info posted on the wall as to how to do exercises - Decent selection of cardio equipment that runs well... although if you are planning to come after work I'd check out how the crowd is before committing. - Washrooms are reasonably clean although change area is small. - Access to certain times in pool. - Little/no classes. - You're not inundated with ads everywhere. - No initiation, pay all at once (may be required). - Staff is not too involved - Don't know if personal training is available. - Not sure if there is towel service (don't think so).

It isn't huge as a community centre but that's what makes it great, cozy and comfortable. Our children have been attending this school since the day they have opened! and have always been happy with this facility. They even helped get our youngest who hated and feared pool water when he first started at the age of 3, become a very strong and happy swimmer! During covid they went above and beyond to accommodate all families, strict rules in place with private change rooms and TRUE full sanitation of the whole facility in between classes! The owner and management are extremely friendly and professional at all times. Our children have learned so much and have accelerated beyond their friends who go to other nearby schools and community centres. The pool is a true salt water! It does have chlorine in it, as any salt water (public pool would) as this meets with accordance of the city of Vaughan Bi-law. We also have a salt water pool at home, and are encouraged to add a certain percentage of chlorine as this is not open ocean water, to kill germs and keep it hygienic. We love and recommend this school to all our friends and family.

STAY AWAY unless you want your children swimming in chlorine…read more I really wish I could give this place zero star. My parents signed up for a 1 month membership since my mom has really sensitive skin and was looking for a salt water pool. They told her theres no chlorine in the water. A few days in, her skin was crazy dry, peeling, and even the color of her swim suit has faded because of the high amounts of chlorine they dump in their water. This definitely raises some health and safety concerns. All this isn't why I want to give this place zero stars. It's because they are dishonest and have terrible service. The manager is extremely snooty and rude. She treats other as though they are beneath her. I has called in on behalf of my parents and Oscar who works there told me my parents could just come in and could get a refund for the remaining days on their membership. When they did, the manager changed her mind and told them they now couldn't. WHAT ON EARTH?! Not only does she have a bad attitude but to top it all off, provides awful customer service. Tip- don't just change your mind about giving a refund when you said your would. It's unprofessional and unacceptable. Please please STAY AWAY from this place. UPDATE: So I guess they change their mind and they call my parents back to come get their refund and when my parents get to the pool, they said that there's NO refund. This happened twice. What kind of messed up games are you guys playing on elderly people? This is wrong. .

Huge camp site with lots of different activities to do. The camp itself is very clean and spacious…read more When I went, there had to be about a few hundred on the site but it never once seemed to be crowded. There's places to row, places to swim, sandy outdoor volleyball fields, indoor housing to do activities (and there were so many activities to do, painting, singing, making pins etc). The dining hall was huge and it definitely got festive when it was filled. Again, it was never crowded to me and it seemed as though the more people there were, the better. The camp staff are all amazing and friendly, even though I know it can be super stressful taking care of that many people. It seemed like second nature to them and their vibes definitely spread. There are also indoor cabins to reside in and they are huge. They definitely give you a 'overnight summer camp' kind of feel, with bunk beds and everything. It surprisingly did not get that cold at night either! The washrooms were not as filthy as I expected them to be, and they were actually quite spacious as well. Overall recommend. If your child is coming here for a school grad trip, definitely let them go for an experience that they'll keep with them for life!

Not necessarily my favorite Y, but ultimately it has most things you'd expect to find in one…read more I mentioned in a review for another Y that decor doesn't really matter with gyms. I guess that's still true but I was surprised at how much the monotone grey-scale of the entire place made it feel cold in here. I guess I'll continue with a couple more critiques. One is that I don't understand why they don't simply keep towel racks in the plus change-rooms as they do at every other Y I've ever been to. It's part of what you're paying for, and though you can get them at the front desk, it just seemed odd that they just won't keep them stocked in the change-room for convenience. The change-room itself was quite small and has virtually no seats which was a bit odd too. Apart from those minor things, the workout area is well stocked and they even have a couple unique things in what is sort of a mini studio in the middle of the workout area. One thing I really appreciate this place as a runner is that their track is longer than most of the other ones as it circles the gymnasium as well. It's nice having longer straightaways so you don't feel like you're turning most of the time. If you're strictly into using weights, they do have what you need here though you can probably find other places to go to for cheaper. However, Y's (including this one) are great for having additional amenities, which includes a full-sized pool, gymnasium, running track, programming for kids and other things. There's also often more a community feel at them and often a chance to make connections too.

Just today I discovered some music rooms downstairs!!!! This community center keeps surprising me with new discoveries lol. There's a small but smart weight room, great pool, gym with a new floor and lots of multipurpose and studio space. For new parents, families new to the area, or anyone who wants to get or stay active, it's the perfect place. My only criticism ever was with the kids karate instructor. He seems to like to make kids cry, seems to have a chip on his shoulder and in general isn't that good at karate. That's one minus in 3 years of pluses, so whatever.
