Clothing sizing is absurdly inconsistent. Of the three items ordered in the same size, one was…read morethree sizes TOO SMALL, the other 2 sizes too small and one a size too small. Terrible customer service & never received my order! Alloy would not even help me track the package…read moreand wouldn't even tell me if it shipped because I didn't purchase package protection on top of paying high prices & shipping costs. No other site I've ordered from requires package protection to assist with an order. Order assistance is a basic service from an online retailer. In my opinion they used package protection as a way to bill me & not ship my product. I had to dispute the $130 charge with my credit card to get a refund because Alloy wouldn't track my package, confirm shipment or offer a refund. Alloy lost a customer who had ordered multiple times in the past. I will never order from Alloy again.

I took a Sewing Mastery class at Danners Bernina and it was an overwhelmingly positive experience…read more The instructor was extremely knowledgeable and demystified my machine - which I had been having a lot of issues with prior to my class. The store has just about every accessory you could ask for, a good selection of other sewing notions, some fabric and patterns. It is well-stocked, clean and airy. The classroom is generously sized and there was plenty of room to spread out and maintain social distancing, which was appreciated. The instructor even noticed a small part on my my machine that wasn't in great shape...and I just got this machine serviced and they did not replace that part! I wasn't loving my usual Bernina service center before and this sealed it. Even though this shop is 2 hours from me, this will be my new service hub since my machines only need to be serviced once a year (ideally). Great service, knowledgeable and friendly staff, and friendly classmates. I had a great experience here and am now a loyal customer.

I've been going to Fishbone for years and they've always been nice. Same people have been there for EVER so they know what they're doing. It's a fun place to go because they have a bit of everything. Lots of shoes, especially. Like, skate brands, urban brands but also ones that your mom would want, like Vionic or Dansko. Plus all the trendy ones the teenagers love like Vans, Converse, Adidas. In the winter they got some killer boots and I got a fantastic pair of Hoka One One running shoes there before. They also have sportswear and outdoor brands like Patagonia and Mountain Hardwear (which they just started carrying in women's sizes, whoo-hoo!!). Some Marmot too, I think? And disc golf discs! But also they got trinkets and fun stuff. Like Funko Pops, hemp necklaces, Manic Panic hair dye, tie-dye everything, posters, concert tees. Also THE BEST place for hats in the mall. Hands down. Hanover Mall doesn't got a Lids, so this place kinda nails that vacancy. They change their inventory a lot. I remember seeing yo-yos and juggling equipment back in the day. Give them a try, it's always changing.

Don't know how the same people could have worked there for years when I only saw teenage employees on both occasions I went in the store. They were nice but didn't do their job correctly and the price of a board was wasted. Staff sold a regular sized skateboard to parent for a 12 year old saying it was the right size. Clearly too big for the kid and was never used, not mounted, and they would not take it back though their policy clearly states exchange for store credit accepted with receipt. Error by the staff means customer problem. They even have sizing charts on some of their complete boards and ignorant employee failed to utilize it!! I won't take my business there again.
