Everyone is raving about the hot dogs yet they're also still the reason this place isn't a perfect 5 stars. Because there's hot dogs, now we need to take into account turnover, ambiance, seating, service... Come on. It's a donut shop and a hot dog stand. Both hit the standard of incredible. Is it a little pricey? Yeah, well, so is mochi. Go to the nearest grocery store freezer and find a spoon full of ice cream wrapped in it going for less than $1 a bite. You can't compare this to just some fried batter, sugar, and milk solids. It's like saying your sea bass was overpriced because you're used to fish sticks. Also dogging a place because their AC went out... on the hottest day of the year? You think the few minutes you had to experience that stacks up to the grueling misery, expense, and headache the owners and staff had to deal with? Wild sense of entitlement? I don't know, but I'd probably disown whomever thought that to be appropriate criteria to knock down a business if my insistence to reevaluate at a more appropriate time fell on deaf ears. Mochinut rules. I'm not going to frequent it often, but it's at the top of my list for the next time I hate myself and want to eat my feelings. Maybe entitled bitterness is appropriately manifested given similar circumstances. Sympathies all around I suppose.

SIZE: average PRICE: $10.00 (VERY expensive!!) OVERALL THOUGHTS: Paid $10+ for our family of four to share 3 donuts. Female staff member was friendly and patient. Don't understand the hype of this donut chain, have had way better "regular" donuts that were way cheaper. WOULD I RETURN? No, they were not worth the price tag for what you got. We can get a dozen donuts at our local bakery that are much better for $18!!

There was very little curry sauce so serve over rice. The basil fried rice didn't taste like anything resembling Basil fried anything. The vegetables (just onion and peppers) in there were huge as well. It was more bad Chinese than Thai. I'm not running back for the Pad Thai either. Not bad but not oh so delicious I would drive 30 minutes to get it.

So, when I was scrolling through DoorDash, I thought, "Why not give Thai Tanic a try?" And let me tell you--I do not regret it! The food instantly reminded me of that cozy Thai spot on East 26th Street in New York. Thai Tanic is now officially my go-to Thai restaurant. I ordered takeout, but I couldn't help but notice how cute the restaurant's interior was, with its tropical greenery decor. The staff was also incredibly friendly. I placed my order ahead of time, and the estimated wait was spot-on--no extra delays. I love a good Tom Yum soup, and this one did not disappoint. It had the perfect balance of acidity, wasn't overly spicy, and featured fresh vegetables. For dinner, I went with the Combination Meal (available only online) with Pork Fried Rice. The sides included Garlic Delight Tofu and Masaman Potato Curry with Mixed Veggies. Each dish was packed with flavor! The Fried Rice wasn't greasy or overly buttery--just rich in taste. The Masaman Potato Curry was my absolute favorite; the coconut milk and curry consistency were spot-on, with no single ingredient overpowering the others. I'll definitely be ordering from Thai Tanic again and highly recommend it to anyone in the area. You won't regret it! Next time, I'm getting the Masaman Potato Curry with a side of white rice--no question about it!

Before I get into the food, I really want to call out our server, Amanda C. We had never been there before and she was incredibly attentive to us, explained everything that they offered, gave us a lowdown on the spice they used and how it ranks compared to other foods ("This one is about the heat level of Buffalo Wings") which was great. My wife likes her food spicier than me so she asked if she could have some extra spice on the side and she brought out 3 different kinds of spices for her to experiment with, which was above and beyond. When it was time for us to leave, she brought out extra sauces for some of the appetizers we didn't finish so we could enjoy them at home, and even gave us little plastic containers if we wanted to take the extra spices home separately. Truly great and I hope the next time we come here, she'll be able to serve us. Now on to the food! Dynamite shrimp was very tasty but could have been a little spicier in my opinion. The breading and crunch was very good, just not as spicy as I usually feel like it's served. Brussels Sprouts were delicious and my wife and I cleaned the plate. Will definitely be ordering that again. The Yellowfin was good and maybe would've stood out more if the other items weren't better in my opinion but still tasty. Chicken Satay was very tender and flavorful and the peanut sauce was delicious. My favorite item was the House Speciality Fried Rice. We got it with tofu and vegetables. The fried egg on top was great and I literally don't think I've had better fried rice in my life. I truly don't want to eat any other fried rice but this one, which is a bummer because it's a 15 minute drive and not on the corner next to my house. We also had the Thai Iced Tea. I generally love this drink and it was good, but not the best. The crushed ice on top was quite excessive and I wound up scooping most of it out cause it wouldn't watered down my drink before I even got to it. I'd say bigger chunks of ice in that drink or maybe you can order it with light ice. Total was around $85 which is a pretty reasonably priced meal for 2, but Happy Hour prices attributed to that. We also made sure to give Amanda a nice tip for her excellent service. Will definitely be back!
