I…read morechose to give her another opportunity because she had done my hair correctly in the past, but unfortunately, the result was once again not what I requested. My hair was highlighted incorrectly and turned platinum blonde, which I never asked for. It appeared to be over-processed, or the wrong toner was used. I typically require a level 9 toner, and it's clear that was not applied. Because of how poorly the service turned out, I had to find another salon open on a Sunday to correct it, as it was not suitable for work. At this point, I am requesting a refund due to the repeated issues and the additional time and expense required to fix the mistake.

The stylists are great, but I will no longer be coming here because of the booking staff. I will be taking my business elsewhere.

Moving as often as I have, I always dread when I have to begin my search for a new hair salon. My…read morehair is past my shoulders and very low maintenence so I have a hard time justifying paying $70 for a haircut that hardly has a style, at a place where I have to wait 2 weeks minimum to get in. I was so relieved when I left a voicemail requesting an appt. at Urban Style on a Monday, and received a call back immediately, even on a day the salon is closed. ( I had left voicemails at other area salons on days they were open and didnt even recieve a call back. Ever.) They have a welcome promo for new customers that included a color and cut for $75- an offer I couldn't pass up, not to mention being able to accommodate an appointment within a day. I realize some customers associate an open salon schedule with bad service, (I.e., packed schedule=good salon). I disagree with that. When I decide I'm going to get my hair done, I want instant gratification and don't want to be inconvenienced for 2 weeks out. I brought an iPad with photos of the shade of highlights I was looking for and explained to my stylist Raquel that previous stylists have not gone as blonde as I have asked them too. She listened to what I was requesting, took a good long look at the photos I brought and did a knockout job on my cut and highlight. The organic products are a plus, the hot towel and head massage during the shampoo were heavenly, and the atmosphere was sophisticated and friendly, I even bought a gift certificate for a sport massage for my husband's Valentines gift on my way out. Check the salon out, support local, and reduce you carbon footprint with their earth friendly products!

This place rules…read more First, a confession: I've been dying my own hair for years. The last time I went somewhere to get my hair done I left in tears - the chick totally ruined my hair. Fast forward years later, my hair is in need of a cut and color and I just didn't feel up to it. A friend of mine told me about Lola ( specifically Meghan), and I was feeling saucy and had a babysitter, so I called and booked an appointment. I ended up getting there too early, so I got some work done while I waited. It has a nice cool vibe there, and they feature jewelry to buy from local artists - how cool is that? Meghan is an adorable tall irish chick. She may or may not be an elf from Lord of the Rings. I'm not sure, because her skin is flawless and i'm pretty sure she doesn't age. She's a lot friendlier and happier than the elves from LotR though, so who knows. I told her of my past experience, and she made me feel comfortable right away. As I sat in the side room, tin foil in hair, hair cooking, thinking of the movie Signs, I got to sip a glass of red wine. I didn't even have to smuggle it in, they have wine for their customers. After your hair is rinsed out and shampooed they put conditioner in and then cover your head with a hot towel to help the conditioner soak in. While the hot towel is on you get a hand massage. The hand oil they have is awesome, it soaks in right away and made my hands feel super soft. As someone who constantly applies hand lotion, I was super impressed. After my hair was rinsed out I got to see it - and I loved it! It was exactly what I wanted. I felt SO relieved and happy that I went to Lola. As Meghan finished up by cutting my hair I watched the digital frame on her desk. The slideshow included Christine Hendricks and Karen Gillan, so Lola immediately gets 100 points for including Joan AND Amy Pond. I love how my hair turned out, and it's all thanks to Meghan. I'm so glad I decided to go to Lola and didn't let that other place deter me from all salons forever. Meghan, you are a lifesaver! If you call to book an appointment, ask for her, she rules. The guy working behind the counter was super nice too - even when you show up early enough to get some work done (free wifi for customers, woo!)
