I've been meaning to write this since I saw their "Art Prize- The Musical" act a few years ago. I loved it - stand up and cheer, couldn't stop talking about it, loved it! It poked fun at every local stereotype, popular public figures, and especially Grand Rapids' beloved, Art Prize. It was witty and subversive, all while having clever accompanying music. Then this Grand Rapids-based vaudeville/burlesque act really pushed some Midwest buttons when I saw them again around Thanksgiving. Complete with songs, dance, and a full band, the show was much more R rated, showcasing several skits with tasseled girls and at one point, a large man wearing nothing but a diaper. The performance closed with a bearded female Jesus in glittery panties doing acrobatic tricks on a cross. I can't even make that up. If you are looking for a shock-value laden, goofy and outrageous, boundary-pushing good time with plenty of laughs, check them out! You won't be disappointed.

While every show is different, and some have misses instead of hits, the fact that the work is risky, current, political, and beautiful. The music and orchestra, originals by Mr. Happy Pants usually, is amazing. He is an MC worthy of the title. And the sketches and audience interactions are inviting and can be squirm-worthy. "Artprize: The Musical" was the best thing I have ever seen, satirizing everything that is wrong and right with the arts in Grand Rapids. And Ms. Finan as Jesus is sublime. We go every time we can and take friends. If it makes them uncomfortable, yea! Art isn't supposed to appease--it is supposed to provoke. You want pablum? Check out Circle Theatre. You want real theatre? Super Happy Funtime.

Nice clean and accessible spot!…read more But that's where the good ends... I was greatly anticipating their gluten friendly donuts. However the owner/manager/boss clarified they are fried in the same oil--that's why they refer to them as "gluten friendly". I said that's actually not gluten friendly if they're fried in the same oil as gluten, then they by nature are infused with gluten. If they're made in the same facility as gluten, that would be gluten-friendly. My husband and I kindly attempted 3 different times 3 different ways to help her understand why frying gluten friendly donuts in the same deep fryer is harmful for gluten sensitive people but she was unwilling to understand. She then made a big show of changing her gloves when handling the gluten free muffin for me and said "since it seems like it really matters to you" sarcastically. If anyone understood what gluten does to my already chronically in pain body I HOPE they would have a touch more empathy. It genuinely soured our whole experience and we didn't stay much longer. Bad vibes, would not recommend.

Hello, I passed exit…read morehesi last Saturday. I'd like to thank so much to Claire who have been so helpful and supportive last couple of months. My school requires 850 to pass and I received 1064 on my exit. I passed my assessment hesi but I didn't pass the second hesi which really counts. I was so scared not to be able to graduate. It was hard month but I did it! I'd like to share couple of things that I did was helpful. If you have only a week or two left, I would say just do the questions. I did at least 50-160 each day. You need a momentum so don't give yourself more than two days of break. I used Saunder's Q&A for questions and couple specialties, 30 questions, and 160 questions from this website. Make sure to review all the rationales and really understand them. You can watch a Youtube video or search google image if you don't really know the topic. If you find some weak areas, then do 20 questions in that area until you feel confident. If you have couple of months, here's what I did. I read HESI book by evolve (5th edition) entire times and did all the questions at the end of the chapters except critical care/gerontology. Med/surg has good questions and this is what hesi thinks important. Also I did all specialties (except medical calculations), 30s, 160s from this website. And then couple weeks later, I did some again where I received scores lower than 800. I got around 700-880 on each test. I did it as exam mode and then reviewed the rationales with study mode, so that way you have rationales for all the questions. If you have more time, do comprehensive questions from evolve websites. They have good questions. Slow down and read every part of the questions and ask yourself what they are really asking me. From there, think about answers and look at the choices. Don't choose the one you think is right and move on, because it might ask you NOT CORRECT one or there's better answer. Practice this way with every questions and spend extra times on med-calc test. I wish you the best luck with people who are taking HESI soon. HANG IN THERE. YOU CAN DO IT!! Thanks again Claire :)

Also, you can filter the practice questions by specialty and areas of focus. SIMPLY AWESOME!!!

Got a 3 hr sprint break deal with the kids. I had mediocre expectations having been to at least 5 similar parks. This one was the best. Imagine an abandoned corner store at a mall was taken over by a wave of zombie children running on sugar and dip n dots bouncing until total meltdown. The Bad: 1) The video games are an absolute ripoff--if they made the games 5 credits per game they would get more business. 12 credits for air hockey?! I refused to "reload" based on principle alone. 2) No water fountain?! Even prisoners get water.. Suggestions: A Water Fountain and add some laser tag!
