Yet when you hobble over to the clinic to make an appointment, the staff is always on the phone (God knows with who) and makes you wait and the crabby receptionists treat you as if they are doing you a favour. If they are too busy and cannot accept patients or calls- leave a recorded message saying so or give an e-mail address. And a course on how to greet incoming patients with a minimum of courtesy ane respect, is long overdue. Most of us coming there are already in pain... We don't need you to add to it. Most of the experiences described here https://modernsportspt.com/switch/ unfortunately match my own, especially passive treatment that is exactly the same every session and largely consists of seeing people who are not physiotherapists. While the staff is very friendly, I definitely did not get what I needed from my physiotherapy treatment here. I found that the approach was hands-off, and was never sent home with any exercise directives beyond "stretch until your leg is straight." A typical appointment would last an hour, with only 5-10 minutes with a physiotherapist where he would measure my ability to straighten and bend my leg, touch around my injured knee and ask me about my pain, and maybe help me stretch my calf if I complained about it. Never watched me walk to see if my gait was causing pain, never gave me a treatment plan with clear time frames, expected outcomes, or explained why I was receiving the prescribed treatment. I did not feel like I was set up with a "game plan" to return to sports like I wanted. I also didn't really have a homecare plan beyond ice and stretch, and was never given exercises. Even when I had ongoing calf pain, my physiotherapist asked if I was doing stretches, and I replied that I hadn't been given any stretches. He said the hospital should have given me a plan after my surgery; then what are you doing? After this I decided to switch to a more hands-on physio, where I am with a physiotherapist for the full time of my appointment, every time. I was also put off by the reaction of my physiotherapist when I told him that I was going to get an MRI, because an orthopaedic surgeon saw a fracture in my knee that often indicates an ACL injury. He basically dismissed my surgeon's opinion, said fractures can't be a sign of ACL injury, and that my surgeon was just guessing. Some quick googling and I was easily able to find that an ACL injury and fracture of the tibial spine are known to be co-morbid, just like my surgeon said. It also did turn out that my ACL was nearly completely torn, as predicted by said surgeon. The icing on the cake is that when I told the receptionist I would not like to rebook for continued physiotherapy, the physiotherapist was immediately called, and he spent more time trying to convince me to stay than he did with me during my appointment. I timed it, he literally treated me for 4 minutes.

I found the person answering the phone (to set up the appointment) to be not very polite nor client-service oriented. It felt like my call was an inconvenience. When I got to the appointment, I found the person there to be also lacking in client service basics. I did most of the talking and asking questions, to which I received not very helpful nor complete answers. He did the assessment using the mat on the floor, showed me the computerized imaging on the screen, then told me about their deal on orthotics. He seemed surprised that I didn't order some right away. I left with a card so I could look at the footwear selection online (Footmaxx). I was not impressed with my experience, but the deal sounded good and I liked the look of the sandals available, so I called back to place an order. The person on the phone could find no record of my 'file' but took down my info and order information to look into it and get back to me and I never heard from them again. :/ NOT impressed and would definitely not recommend them to anyone. I've since taken my business to another clinic that has been super helpful and client service-oriented. I gather this is a fairly competitive market to take advantage of people with benefits coverage for orthotics, so no need to support a company that has such poor client service standards.

After much consultations and various treatments (e.g. shot of cortisone, polishing my tooth to try to have a better alignment when I chewed, removal of wisdom teeth), my mom and I gave up.  I decided to live with the pain.
