Had an excellent experience at Kathryn's place, it was like visiting my favourite Aunty in her Sydney home (now gone). This particular Sydney bed and breakfast was so perfectly placed. I was in an inner Eastern Suburb, that I could explore, as well as being so close to transport to go into the Sydney city itself.
On walking out the front door 1 discovered so many things on foot, Centennial Parklands ( about 1 min to Main North Gate), Paddington Markets (about 2 mins), alleyways and main streets - packed with restaurants, day spas, designer boutiques and all sorts of curiosity shops.
The shop keepers and businesses are very friendly and it is easy to have lots of great interactions.
Incredible street-scapes, tiny urban courtyards, historical monuments and suburban gardens were everywhere as I wandered up and down Oxford and Queens Streets and down interesting back blocks. These suburbs (Paddington & Woollahra) offer an excellent, eclectic & enlightening mix of old and new, trendy and bohemian, rich and poor.
Kathryn was the ideal host and her knowledge and legendary hospitality are so far removed from any other accommodation, main stream hotel or boutique accommodation offering I have ever stayed in.
To sum up - a unique and traditional bed and breakfast experience not to be missed. Next time I go back, I will spend longer and I am going to catch the bus to Bondi to have a roam around that area for a look-see. It's only 5 mins from Sydney so it will be a very relaxing place to stay when I go there on business. Can't wait to return read more
