Kathryn Albertson Park has a pond, and it's a good place to head for if you want to take a stroll in a nice area. Within the park, there's a structure that lets you sit a spell and take in the scenery :-) On the down side, like a lot of parks that tend to attract bird (in this case, geese and ducks) the park has a liberal coating of bird poop in lots of places ;-) Tip: This is a nice place to bring your dog on lease, as long as you can control your pet and prevent incidents with the birds.

Beautiful Nature Preserve in midst of downtown! As we continue to explore the Boise area (having just moved here last month), we loved this beautiful place right next to downtown. We especially liked the ponds with lilies as well as the vibrantly colored wildflowers along many of the paths. We also loved the ducks, frogs, fish, dragonflies, etc. There were plenty of trails and benches from which to ponder the many beauties of nature. Calming sounds of a fountain bring peaceful thoughts and help mask traffic noises. It's a place that I'm sure we'll visit again.

Was really hoping to see deers but didn't see any. All we saw was ducks, a squirrel & something else. We saw a lot of poop as well. I wouldn't recommend a picnic here. I took a picture of the map first. Thank goodness so we don't get lost. But it wasn't a big park as excepted to be. There's spots that are reserved for a celebrating, or a party. There was lots of confetti. There's bridges in the park & water falls & gazebos. Lots of trees!

Another great Boise park. The 41-acre park is nestled south of the Boise River across from Ann Morrison Park off Americana Boulevard. The park, meant to attract resident and migratory wildlife, is off-limits to vehicles and bicycles. Dogs are also banned during the waterfowl nesting season from March 1 to June 30. A two-mile aggregate path winds through the park and its shallow ponds. On a recent visit, nearly a dozen white-tailed deer were calmly munching on grass and other vegetation as they strolled through the park.

Magnolia photography took this picture but its one of the path ways I enjoy walking.

I have lived in Boise my whole life and this park remains one of my favorite places. The wildlife here is outstanding and I used to take a walk every morning before work, deer, geese, a fox, squirrels, all kinds of birds, turtles, a heron, and a beaver just to list a few I have seen and photographed. Also it is a prime place to take photos, family, graduation, couple, anything really. I will say one review was right: " There are a ton of geese and geese poop, and they are HUGE and not afraid of anything! " also they have babies in the spring and the ducks do as well and the park fills with little fuzzlets. They are ADORABLE, I even saw a nest with eggs in it once. Lots of trees, places to rest and read. The park is just a great place to relax.

Saw this park listed on one of the "must do" lists for boise on Trip Advisor and figured i'd see what it was all about. It is hidden and I was surprised it hadn't made it onto yelp yet... There is a small parking lot inside to the right, but i think most people arrive via the green belt or from Anne Morisson across the street. FYI - it is a bird sanctuary. There are a ton of geese and geese poop, and they are HUGE and not afraid of anything! The path around the park is very cute, some adorable gazebos, benches along the water, the largest ponderosa. But if you are by yourself and the geese decide you souldn't go a certain way, you have to either force your way through, go back the way you came or temp fate and the beak... I enjoyed my little jaunt and look forward to going back when it is warmer and the water is flowing!

This is a stunning park. Great for those who want to get in some walking while being surrounded by gorgeous nature. There are water features, trees, birds singing and all types of woodland animals enjoying this lush paradise. I came with my 4 year old and she was so enthralled by the nature that she didn't even care there was no playground. It's well maintained and you feel as if a fairy or elf might jump out at any given moment.

This time of year is the best time to bring the kids. You are sure to see baby geese and ducklings. There are wild iris in bloom along with the smells of flowering lilacs and dogwoods.

I just love how everyone is doing their own thing, whether that's walking, strolling, biking, fishing, kayaking or even surfing! Yes that's right, there's a section where you can actually surf the stream.. how cool is that?! There a signs at the entrances that remind people not to be a "speed demon" and also signs warning about blind curves, which I very much appreciated. We rented those Lime electric scooters and were able to scoot nearly the entire path, which felt so epic and fun. Of course, we were mindful of pedestrians, bikes and foot traffic. One of my favorites parts of the path was when went past the Boise Zoo and saw not just one, but too giraffes poking their heads up at the trees. They were ginormous and even seems to acknowledge us with curious eyes and ears. What a special treat to have such an open, accessible and convenient public space right in the heart of a city!

It quite literally runs along the river and is absolutely stunning all the way through. From parks like Ann Morrison to Boise State's campus to where you drop in the river for floating at Barber Park. There is plenty to do along the Greenbelt. It is always fun to plan days going from hot spot to hot spot on a bike or on foot. It's also great to spend some time kicking it by the river at one of the Greenbelt's many hang out areas, especially during the summer.

Yes, there are two - one for large dogs and one for smaller dogs. Not only that, but we also walk them around the full park until they've had enough exercise. Discovery is a HUGE park with baseball fields, dog parks, a skate and biking park, plus a well-built and fun play area for kids. I'm pretty sure we walked by a huge sand pit for kids to plain too! Discovery park mixes all the fabulous things of a traditional park with educational pieces about Idaho. The play structure is great. It has usual bits like slides and nets to climb, but it also has funky bridges, musical components and a variety of ladders. There are two very long zip lines with the attached seat, making it perfect for all ages. (Yes even my 32 year old husband thought it was amazing) There are these super fun roller slides that are fun for older kids to try and climb, but also littles who don't like to go too fast on a slide. I love that this is the rubberized surface. When you have an early walker, this is the best type of park to go to. Behind the play structure is the best part of this park. They have a water feature to help kids learn about Idaho rivers! Kids can play in the sand, dig ditches and levies and divert water streams. There is also a traditional splash pad around the side. There are three covered picnic areas, large bathrooms and plenty of parking. This is a wonderful new park addition to our community!

Art in the Park at Julia Davis Park…read more Art in the Park at Julia Davis Park is such a fun experience! The event is right along the Boise Greenbelt, so you can stroll through all the incredible art vendors and then enjoy a walk around the large, beautiful park. Fun fact: Julia Davis Park is the oldest park in Boise, established in 1907, and it's still one of the city's most popular gathering spots. There were so many vendors with a big variety of artwork, with something for every taste. I even found the perfect gift for my step-dad-in-law: a mountains and sun piece made out of different kinds of rocks. If you're an art lover, this event is a must-go-to. Another bonus is how easy it is to explore the area. You can rent e-bikes and e-scooters nearby to cover more ground. And every time we go, we always stop to see the giraffes at Zoo Boise, which is right next to the park. It makes for a full day of art, nature, and fun.
