I was surprised to see the low rating for this thrift/consignment store. It has a bit of everything from household items to pet items. I found a couple of growlers and candles. They have clothes for babies, men, women and girls. I didn't see a boys section but they even had toys and books as well. The service is friendly and quick. There would be a good line building up and they would handle it well. They had reasonable prices for good value items. they even had a wheelchair to buy. No public bathrooms and it looks like a small parking area in front. read more

I consign here and shop here weekly. I loveeeee this thrift shop. The girls work hard, and the lines can be long, but they are very sweet. Be patient. The line moves pretty quickly. They have a great resale price, too. much much better than Goodwill. read more

I drop off and sometimes buy at Kathy's. I am not a fan of doing my own garage sales, so I am able to off-load a variety of items. It really helped me outfit my growing grandsons that lived with me for some time. Most of the time when I am dropping off, I do not shop there as the lines for drop off are long and slow. I have suggested and wish they used a number system on drop off days so you could grab a number and shop until your number is called. They could dedicate two of their cashiers to do drop off only. On the days I drop off, I usually go down and shop at the CRRC Thrift Store a couple blocks down. They have a good clothing selection too and household items. read more

I've discovered Kathi's about 7 or 8 years ago. It was great at first. However, the staff has gotten so rude I don't go back. I made quite a bit of money there but would rather drive to Goodwill now to just donate. I once had a leather biker jacket I wanted to put a reserve on, but they dictated the amount I could put on it. Later I saw another leather jacket that was smaller and less well made that had a price that was quite a bit more than mine was. Wait lines are ridiculous! And no bathroom? A lot of older people go in there with I'm sure some with health issues (myself included). They have to be making a fortune off this place-why not put some of that money back into the business? Say hire friendly cashier's and pay them better? How about a bathroom? Separate area/line for intakes? Again, I'd rather donate than go here! read more

It's a great place to find nice items, prices can be on the higher side. Their prices have gone up over the last year or two. Good clothing selection. You can make a little cash if you take things in, although I spend 10x more than I earn. Meet friends in line because lines are up to 1 1/2 hrs long. I would only recommend shopping here if you have thick skin. Some of the employees are super nice, but there are some who are rude, and have been known to yell at customers! Customer service it terrible. Cashiers are all grumpy. There is no easy way to drop off stuff. Customers all stand in one line which takes forever. Good to find second hand appliances, etc, at a discount. Nice to recycle back into the community. Their most customer friendly change would be to have a separate line for items coming in. They could easily use the cashier on the right for that, and even have a young man to carry items from parking lot. After all, this generates their income. read more

Prices are the best anywhere. Selection is excellent. Quality is better than other thrift stores. Workers are efficient and friendly.

This store encompasses about 2,000, perhaps, 3000 ft.² of space. Most of what you'll find here will be related to clothing and shoes. They do have some furnishings, glassware, kitchen ware, and even jewelry. They take in consignment items three days a week, and they do not have any public bathrooms. The prices here seem to be in line with what goodwill charges more or less. It's unlikely you'll find any hidden treasure here though. read more

Inhumane staff that makes zero exceptions to an elderly woman who NEEDs the restroom. They also are very rude and bothered when asked questions or to see items to purchase. I work in retail and can certainly understand when to make an exception as a human being, and if you don't want to talk to people or show items for them to BUY then don't work in retail. That simple. It's sad how not having simple human decency will ruin a business and certainly make a lasting impression. Will not be returning or giving my money to this business ever again. read more

As someone who has always thrifted for clothes, (even before it was popular) Kathi's was recommended to me 4 years ago. The first time I went in I purchased an entire new wardrobe of clothes for less than $100. The downside was that I stood in line almost 2 hours. I learned that if I was going to consign my items, I better be lined up at the door before they open. Sometimes I will get to Kathi's an hour before they open and there will already be 20 people ahead of me. So, be prepared to wait in line before the store opens, AND once you are consigning/purchasing items. I recently gathered enough clothes to make another 50 minute drive out to Kathi's. They only take consignments on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. They will also close your account and keep your money if you don't return every 3 months or so, so I took half of a Thursday off as I had a fundraising event I was volunteering with on Saturday. I got to Kathi's around 12:30, spent about 45 minutes picking through their poor selection of clothes (it can be hit or miss) and then I got in line around 1:20. At 2:25 I was still in line when the employees all started clapping and cheering. I was close to the check by the jewelry racks, and I heard mumbling from the people in front of me. I asked what the employees had shouted and apparently, they stop accepting consignments at 2:00. When they finish with their last consigner they shout and cheer. I asked an employee at the desk behind the jewelry if that was true because that had never been the case in my years consigning with Kathi's. She was very rude and said "yes. We stopped taking consignments at 2 in December". I said "I took half the day off and drove an hour up here with clothes in my car". Rude again, she said "*shrug* sorry. There's a sign right here (proceeds to point to a sign printed with red candy canes on it, even though it's March) and I made several announcements" No she did not make any announcements. And if she did, she clearly wasn't loud enough. I also don't understand what good an announcement would do. I was in line well before 2pm so I should have been able to consign my items. The worst part of all of this is that the two women directly in front of me were able to consign their items even though it was about 2:45 at this time. When I was called up, I asked "are you taking items or not? I'm confused because those two people just brought in their items and you already called out your last consigner for the day". The same grumpy employee comes up and says "we are NOT taking items! I told you I made announcements and we stopped taking items at 2!" The cashier who was helping me said "yes those lady's were the last ones", even though it had already been 20 minutes since everyone cheered and clapped from the other "last" consigner for the day. I should have taken the money from my account, left the 4 items I was planning on purchasing, and never looked back. I was so angry, and I'm sure all of the employees there think I'm a Karen. But I have decided I'll make a final trip up to Kathi's and collect my money. I'd rather give all of my items to goodwill than support Kathi's ever again. The place is not worth it for me to drive, stand in an hour+ long line that I have no control over, and then be told they won't take my items because they have a poor system set in place. Those employees make their money off of our items and then treat us like garbage. The last time I went to Kathi's I brought in a nice pair of Italian suede boots. Very expensive. I set them on the counter and some old lady immediately says "we can't accept those. They're too worn". Excuse me? They aren't worn at all. They are Italian suede. I was very irritated, but I took them back to my car. The woman in front of me yesterday who was allowed to consign her items brought in a black end table that was covered in glitter glue and scratches and they accepted that. I guarantee they use it as part of their store furniture, meanwhile the customer will be expecting to make a little money off of it. read more

I have taken expensive items to sale here. And in theast month I've only made 2.00! Something or someone is taking my items because I never see them on display. I go everyday they are open and none of my items are on display, I also believe the employees there have first choice, I'm not making any money. But I'm sure they are. i wrote a positive review a couple days ago about this place. i will say, it truly depends on what cashier you deal with. the first time i ever came here, we got the sweetest cashier in the world. i wish i knew her name, but we came in yesterday and we got a rude cashier. so it truly depends who you get. i didn't appreciate the rude cashier. overall i love the place. i find really good things, but the workers can be rude. so be careful. i don't tolerate rude people well, so it was hard to keep my mouth shut. i hope i see the sweet worker again!! read more

My grandma is disabled and on disability. My grandma has brought multiple items to this store that happen to just go missing. She is never paid for items that she brings here. The staff is extremely rude and unbecoming. Honestly would support a business that steals from people who are less fortunate. I will never go here. The value is so cheap because they are stealing and committing fraud from the community. If your going to steal from people at least be nice to them. I would support another business or seek other ways of resale. read more

I've been coming here for 8-9 years now. It's a good place to get rid of unwanted items instead of saving up things for a garage sale. You get half of whatever they sell it for 1-2 weeks after your items have sold. And you get cash! Which is a good deal to me. No stress or worries about having a garage sale! Only stressful part is having to stand in one huge line when dropping off things. There is only one line in the place it's for dropping off things and people purchasing things. It's a small place and things get a little tight. So if your claustrophobic this isn't a place for you! Clothing is not really well organized but hey it's a resale shop, plus people are lazy and don't put things back where they go half the time. My wife passed away. After a time, I took over 200 dresses, 2 large boxes of shoes, all her expensive purses, and many other garment, it took several trips. All were in excellent condition, some dresses still had price tags. I received $175.00, total. it's my opinion that Kathi's employees get first pick of all items and sell the rest. I just went in interested in a table. Rude volunteers/employees. Funny the small table was on the floor with H-24 on it. No one could give me price. I always find something here I didn't know I needed. Been coming by for years, but I only come on non consignment take in days, as the lines to check out are ridiculous, for no real reason except they seem to want lines, people ought to stop waiting if they want any changes. They could make a line solely for the consignment and make THEM wait, but they make customers wait with them so it holds up checkout lines. Why they do this is anyone's guess, they don't care if anyone walks out. Seems a wiser business move to sell more and have happier customers, but they apparently arent interested in that. It's a small town feel with many people knowing each other, chatting in line. There's a blond older woman who is amazingly sweet and cheerful always, but I've had rude service, no service, and good service there. Just depends. I hate the feeling I get sometimes that they're 'busy taking in things, so talk amongst yourselves', due to being able to see what they are doing - they should just close off that area and stop making people leave an opening for them to go through like we are in their way. Make the employees go out the side not through people, it's annoying. The aisles are very tight, don't wear a backpack purse as you'll be turning sideways all the time to let people pass. All the negatives aside, I still stop in, if the lines are long I shop and leave, come back another time if I like something. It's like they grew a lot in popularity but didn't move with it, just kept to the way theyve done it for years regardless of the need to change. I find some nice stuff, like I do at other stores, but the other thrift stores are more pleasant to shop. read more

I have used them for consignments for over a decade. Enjoyed shopping there and considered it one of the best despite past complaints by others. However, brought some items in recently and half were rejected: a TV wall mount, lighting shades, kitchen utensils including knives and a bathtub faucet all in good condition or unused. These were not on the list of items not taken and I have seen these for sale in the shop. Secondly, they have a few new signs up to check in first before bringing your items in. The WEBSITE needs to be updated since some of use commute a long distance. I will go once more to collect the last of my share of the sales and it will be my last. read more

I have stopped donating and shopping here. For years it was a great experience, but now I have the feeling that I was not getting what I was due on the items I donated. After a big spring cleaning, I brought in a huge amount of items, pretty clothing and great household wares in excellent t condition. Understanding that prices here are super low, I was still shocked weeks later when I had a balance of maybe $3. I went through the store and saw none of the items I had donated. I have since seen reviews here and on social media from others who had a similar experience. Now I donate everything to CRRC, at least it goes to a good cause. read more

You will find some good deals here. But be prepared to wait in line an obscene amount of time. Most of the employees are rude. They apparently think they are exceptionally better than anyone who shops there. I work in a heavy clientele based business and I'd be quickly terminated if I behaved the way they do. They don't realize that without shoppers, they wouldn't be able to make the $8 an hour for their checks. Their only benefit is they get to shop the consignments before anyone else, and you better believe they set those prices on those items based on what they want to pay. I enjoy thrifting but I absolutely hate the complete lack of customer service skills of these people . No one is happy, you'll never see a smile or hear a greeting or thank you. They could manage their consignment intakes with checkouts only in separate lines but they choose not to. It's either due to ignorance, or more likely, the longer you have to wait, the more items you'll accumulate before checkout. And, it's a painful amount of time you'll wait while every employee creeps along trying to check you out. If you don't mind being treated like you're an inconvenience, judged privately and publicly, talked over, like listening to employees carry on conversations while you're ignored, and seeing employees wearing pajamas or not enough clothes while you stand in line for a minimum of 30 mins, you'll find a deal. At least you'll appreciate good customer service and you can go home and not see their grouchy faces again. read more

TERRIBLE shopping experience. I was in there two days ago (Wednesday) and inquired about items on the floor with no price tags. I was told theses items had just come in and the person (Laura) who prices things was out. Due to the items not being priced and me being the first to inquire about them, I was to get first dibs once they were priced and Laura would call me as soon as she returned and determined the prices. She did call me first thing the next day (Thursday) and I indicated I wanted all the items. I explained that I would be working out of town all day and asked if I could come to get the things on Friday and she said yes because the things weren't priced the day I was there (I would have purchased them right then if they had been) so they would hold them. I EVEN offered to pay for them over the phone but she said no, I didn't need to do that. Today is Friday and I fly over there to get my things and they sold them to someone else! Laura was like, "oops, I thought you were coming after work on Thursday (even though I very clearly explained I couldn't go until Friday---that was why I offered to pay for them over the phone) so we put them back out and they sold." Such poor service, they don't seem to know what's going on in there among the employees and they don't care if they do a loyal customer dirty. They got their money and they just don't care. I feel sure she was talked into letting somebody else have the items and it's a shame they have such poor customer service. If she had been decent, she would have called the person they sold the items to and said that sale was a mistake, we were holding those things for the first person who inquired about them the day they went out on the floor. absolutely horrific customer service. the employees follow you and make sure your mask is pulled up all the way, but they don't even wear gloves. i asked to speak to a manager about the employee literally following us through the store, and she basically ignored me. i have been shopping there for over 10 years and if i didn't already have items there being sold on consignment, i would never go back. i understand being safety oriented during these times, but rudeness should never be acceptable. from the other reviews, i can see this is a recurring issue. read more

Advice to anyone who contemplates consigning items to Kathi's Resale: DON'T! My unsold items "disappeared" even though I had requested they be returned to me if they didn't sell ... and I am talking about designer items (Saks Fifth Avenue, Evan Picone, Emanuel by Ungaro to name a few). A month before end of consignment, I stopped by to look for my nine items and only found a pair of shoes. Kathi's credited my account with a total of $10.75 for four sold items (one brand-new with the original Saks price tag of $156.00). It is my conclusion that Kathi's is an extremely dishonest enterprise and have learned in the meantime that others in this area believe they have been cheated also. Kathi's does not provide a receipt for consigned items, they do not keep their promises and, worst of all, claim that items that were actually sold were donated. SO, THINK TWICE IF YOU DON'T WANT TO HAVE A SIMILAR EXPERIENCE!!! THERE MUST BE BETTER RESALE SHOPS THAN THIS ONE!! If you go, stick to buying. read more

My wife and I take clothes to Kathi's that we no longer wear. They do have a limit on the number of clothing items that can be brought in each time, but not our of reason. For other items just bring the stuff in a box and hand it over. read more

I live 2 1/2 hours away I can only come on Fridays which is not a drop off day however I was told three months ago when I came last when they graciously excepted my clothing and items on a day other than Tuesday Thursday and Saturday. They said that as long as they weren't busy and I called ahead that day that they would be able to take me so I drove two hours went to my doctors appointment drove another 30 minutes to Kathi's and was refused by the same woman with brown hair in a short boy cut and who told me that if they were not busy and I called ahead that they would except my things. I arrive there at opening there was no one there and I couldn't of called ahead as it was the same time as the store was opening, then the same woman changes her tune and said oh you need to call several days ahead. What??? There was no one in the store yet she was "busy" because she had catch up on things in the back of the store. In the time she took arguing with me about how she was right and I was wrong she could've taken my items and it would've taken less time than her justifying the fact that she didn't feel like taking my clothing even though she had already promised to. I even tried to reason with her and say look this one time it'll only take two minutes there's no one in the store I'm not gonna be out on this part of town for another three months and she refused completely rude and for no reason except that she wanted to stick by her story and maintain her righteousness. Horrible customer service, rude misrepresenting unhelpful. Don't say something and then not follow through. If you will not take clothing on any other day for any circumstances then say so don't say one thing and then change your mind because you have other things that you would rather be doing. read more

My favorite resale store! They always have new merchandise and keeps me wanting to go back! I left off the fifth star only because the sizing organization can get mixed up and sometimes when you go to try something on it ends up being in the wrong section and two sizes smaller than what you needed. I left this place feeling very disappointed today. I want to start by saying I am pretty easy going and objective minded about most people & places. Three months ago I dropped off misc household items, awesome merrell & other brand name shoes and 30 clothing items that were very modern & trendy as well as good infant clothing. Today my balance was zero. I am more than totally convinced that 1. employees are pilfering or 2. my stuff never even got labeled with my # when I dropped it off. or 3. something even more sinister is happening behind the counters. Granted, I do not rely on Kathi's for income, I'm just saying. Secondly, 75% of my trips there I am waited on by less than nice employees (that I rarely see twice) and today a middle aged woman with short gray hair that I have seen on many occasion, never smiles and talks to me like I am a misbehaved child because I forgot a policy or may have one too many clothing items, etc. Lastly, every time I go, I feel like I have to beg for hangers (I leave 30 everytime) and AGAIN today I get home and realize they forgot to give them to me AGAIN AND AGAIN. In short, the store is great as far as selection and thrift store prices, hence my 2 stars, but unless you know the owners/employees on a first name basis, I HIGHLY recommend you not donating or at the very least, if you do, leave your expectations in the basement as far as money on your books and friendly customer service. read more
