The ONLY reason they get two stars is because they genuinely seemed to like my pup. That said, these folks walked my dog for 3 weeks and then the owner, Kathy Clawges canceled the service abruptly - and she did it with email. Supposedly her son, who was my dog walker, took a full time job, "it was an offer he couldn't refuse". If the kid got a job, I'm happy for him. But, why not have a referral ready to include when you send the email?! This isn't the worst part, just an annoyance...My pup is about 6.5 months old, a cutie pie jack-a-bee who tries to eat/lick everything that isn't nailed down - so we keep battling bouts of diarrhea. I alerted Kathy that the pup was a little sick. When I got home the on evening of the last dog walk, I sent her a text asking if the pup had a BM - just wanted to check and see if things were clearing up. The text was ignored. THEN at 9:25pm she sends me the email stating that they would not be able to care for my dog any longer - and STILL no acknowledgement of the text. Now, I'm a very busy entrepreneur - which is why I need pet care in the first place - and would never hold it against anyone if they forgot or can't get to a reply right away. I asked for a few schedule changes and was totally fine when Katclaws could not accommodate me because I know it's tough when you have a schedule to keep. But the kicker is what she wrote in her final email to me...will get to that in a minute...I immediately replied to the email, stating that I was happy for her son but the abrupt loss of my pet care services really put me in a bind, I offered to increase the number of days of service to make it worth her while AND I let her know that I would prefer to wait for her to make room for us in her schedule rather than start from scratch with another walker. My email was ignored. I called and expressed my displeasure at the way communications were handled and concern that my question about my dog's BM went unacknowledged since it was related to my pet's health...Here is where it gets crazy: she had the audacity to reply back and tell me that her business is not 24 hours and they are not veterinarians if I was concerned about my pet's health then I should see a vet!!! Um Lady, seriously? You were my dog walker - on what planet would it be unreasonable for you to say yes or no to a question 'did the dog poop?' and how is that anywhere in the same galaxy as allowing you anywhere near even the edge of being able to replace my vet? Good luck to all you dog lovers - you can probably find a better service, try Nancy with Right At Home. read more
