I have traveled quite a bit and love Sushi. I've had it in hundreds of cities around the world and this place has by far some of the best I've had. It is a small/intimate place with bench style seating around tables. This makes it great for a romantic night cause you can get close to your loved one. There were other people there, but it's a pretty cozy place so everyone talks rather softly. And the ambiance and decorations make for a great date night. The prices are very reasonable, considering you're getting high quality sushi. The staff is EXTREMELY helpful. They spoke English which is a must for tourists like me. And I was very impressed with how quickly our food was prepared. I love trying different restaurants during my travels otherwise I would eat here for lunch and dinner every day of my stay. Translated to German from English using Google Translate: Ich habe ziemlich viel gereist und liebe Sushi. Jushi in Germany was probably not the best idea. Fish was little on stale side. Sea weed salad was ok. Rolls were nothing to write home about. read more

Friendly wait staff and great location, but sushi is mediocre - you won't get sick, but it's nothing special. Small selection - doesn't have much traditional maki , no real creative rolls, and the nigiri selection is minimal. Rolls are very small (4 pieces). Also only accepts cash. read more

Great sushi place! Quite expensive but the chef choice is a great deal (~10€) Ginger offered :) read more

Katana Sushi - Sushi Bars Near Me - Hamburg, HH

This place has average sushi for outrageously high price tags. I would highly recommend staying away and will never be back myself. I choose three of the house recommendations: Tuna Tataki (9.20€) - 4 pieces, Sakura Roll (7.90€) - 4 pieces, and Salat mit Lachs (6.60€). I felt completely ripped off by all three. The salad was mostly just plain lettuce with a layer of salmon, honey mustard, and some seaweed. The tuna and roll were fine tasting but weren't very flavorful and in no way were justified by the price. You'll pay over 20€ and not feel satisfied or full. Go to Hokkai Sushi! It's cheaper with much better sushi. read more

Tiny little cosy place. I liked it very much. Four tables inside tells you that a reservation is essential. We had a great evening. Service was quick and always around. Interiour is typical. However could be miced up with Thai culture. Sushi was fresh and excellent. I was surprised by the sizes of each piece. Very small compared to other sushi places. Over all: place to enjoy your counterpart without disturbance. read more

Very cosy and authentic atmosphere. Very nice staff and the service was swift. Wide and delicious selection of dishes and the salmon salad was delicious. We will recommend the lunch offer, delicious sushi at a very fair price. I'll be back! read more

Katana Sushi - Chef's choice - Sushi Bars Near Me - Hamburg, HH

This place is a quiet and small sushi spot in a quaint neighborhood. However! The price category should be €€€ not two of those. Because paying about 7€ for a sushi roll that only is half the size of ordinary sushi rolls does not reflect the prize category of €€. Their selection of sushi rolls is very slim. The restaurant only accepts cash! Which is a big no no in my opinion. For goodness sake, it's 2018! I pay with my cellphone at places. They are obviously hiding profits; hence, paying less taxes. And nope. I'm not okay with that. Don't tell me the small fee you have to pay for CC use is too much. I 'LOL' to that. Anywho. You can find a better sushi spot in Hamburg than this. read more

Cosy little place with good sushi. It is a little pricy but the quality is good (not the best in world but good). I'd highly recommend it to anyone who likes sushi. read more

Got a couple of sushi and maki. Tuna wasn't really great, the rest was pretty good given the fact that we are in Hamburg. Very good value for money: 7.5euros. I would go back there with no hesitations ! read more

Overall just a very standard sushi place one could get anywhere. Very friendly staff and very fast service. The price range is not overly expensive. Unfortunately one cannot pay by debit or credit card. read more

Great sushi. Very simple and fresh fish with reasonable prices. Only reason it didn't get 5 stars is the service was a little lack luster. Forgot simple things like the water I ordered and soy sauce dishes etc. read more

We got there based in most of the reviews here, and the place is just as described, small, intimate, in a nice area and sushi is just great. Staff is a little cold, but courteous and fast, language was not a problem. A highly recommendable place. read more
