He is a very positive and charismatic person as well, which is especially helpful when dealing with health issues, whether physical or mental. What I truly appreciate is that he addresses concerns without judgement or creating unnecessary panic. He is always prompt, especially in really important urgent matters, even on weekends, when no one else can be reached. He's attentive, and never makes you feel rushed during appointments. He genuinely listens, explains things clearly, and approaches patients with both professionalism and compassion. Over the years he also helped me get necessary tests that were outside of the scope of regular ones. I'm very grateful to have found such an amazing PCP in nyc and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a doctor who truly cares. Busy offices might not always be perfect, there's an occasional wait here and there, because he has lots of patients, but his assistant Orlando has been very helpful, as well as other staff. Newer addition to the team Mayleen has been very personable and prompt as well. I'll be moving states unfortunately, or else I would never switch to a different primary doctor, but being under his care has not only maintained my physical health, but also had a very positive effect on my mental state and restored my faith in humanity and medicine.

I was on IV antibiotics Teflaro and and IM injections of Rocephin for bad bacteria infections with other doctors--nothing helped. But they refused to take my tonsils out--not a common practice for adults I was told. But if you are super sick and constantly have to be on antibiotics why wouldn't you? Dr Finley has been nothing short of amazing. A super smart, kind and caring ENT surgeon (looks like a young David Byrne from the Talking Heads). He removed my tonsils using the latest plasma technology. Post Op he said I had bad tonsillitis and it was a good thing we removed them. While I am one day into recovery the right side doesn't hurt at all. He said my left was far worse even though I thought my right was. Still painful but happy they are out. I highly recommend him and his staff and his personal assistant Julia who is so attentive and professional. Everyone at Northwell has been great and they are in a beautiful new downtown building at 7 7th Avenue. They won me over.

Camp/immunization forms are normally provided for free at the end of an annual physical exam but the process at Bodhi makes you log onto a website which you have to pay for and then order the forms which you also have to pay for. There are also periodic emails entitled "Happy Holidays" asking for donations. How bout this---use the money I paid unnecessarily for the immunization forms which should be free and donate it to the charity of your choice. Because point, click, print is not something that I should be charged for. The outcome of the physical exam is the whole point of the physical exam! Do doctors realize how much we as patients and parents pay for health care and copayments? With that said, I think I've met with each pediatrician at Bodhi Medical at one point or another and they are all absolutely great and replies are always prompt. Their bedside manner is phenomenal and even the front desk staff is EXCELLENT, hence the 4 star rating and not looking to change pediatricians any time soon.

I only wish I found Dr. Shawl sooner. There are not enough superlatives to describe him as a professional and a person. He has state of the art equipment and he uses it effectively and painlessly. His office and their safety and cleanliness protocols are superb. Dr. Shawl is an art collector who must have run out of room at home because his Office is beautiful; it's like going to a museum. As for his administrative assistant, I found her extremely competent but she runs a tight ship and she's no nonsense. Personally I like that. She's also been with Dr. Shawl for more than 28 Years so that says a lot about their relationship. If you want an amazing doctor in a great location and a practice that runs seamlessly then Matthew Shawl MD is the place for you.
