The owners have thought of everything. For instance, we used the 40-cup coffee percolator every day! The kitchen had every single thing we needed (including such things as a meat thermometer). There are common areas on each level in both cabins where we could spread out and not be on top of each other, but could gather for meals and activities in the bigger cabin. The cabins are so beautiful, especially decorated for Christmas. When you walk in, there is soft lighting and music playing and you instantly relax, and take in the gorgeous open views out the windows. All in our family raved about how wonderful and perfect it was for us. My sister-in-law commented on how all the details created a fantastic "ambiance." My 21 year old nephew said he loved all the Christmas trees. Everyone enjoyed this venue and we got lots of love and credit for finding it. Would love to be there in the summer, too, to experience kayaking and other outdoor activities. We did walk around the lake, had the annual cousin football game, got into the small town of Wahoo to the meat locker and some of the small bars. We conducted a wine tasting and a sushi-rolling class, and had lots of other meals, games, laughter, traditions and discussions. That's another thing; tables were provided so that we could seat everyone (20) for meals in a U-shape. Just can't say enough about what a great experience it was.

*** BEWARE *** This…read moreplace was ran so much better when Luis Chavez was managing it. Maintenance would fix everything in a timely manner, and fix it the proper way instead of half-assing it. Luis came over himself one time and took care of a wasp nest for me because I'm deathly allergic to them. He came by just to bring all the residents an Easter present on all our doors and left extra for the tenants who have children. Luis went ABOVE and BEYOND for his tenants, he should've never left. The new manager that took over his position absolutely destroyed this place. People who've been living here for over 3 years were illegally evicted and taken to court for things they didn't do. Emily would purposely delete emails from tenants who were trying to pay their rent and claim she never received anything from people. She'd give people 7 hour notice to vacate the property without an eviction notice on doors or emailed to people, and turned around and promised she wouldn't put an eviction on their credit if they found help for rental assistance that would cover their balance when they had the funds to do so. 2 weeks later, she would brake her signed contract because the assistance company didn't pay the funds when SHE wanted it. She doesn't provide any information about evictions filed against anyone but she will deliver the papers that were printed off 6 days prior from the 7-Day No Pay on your door at 3am the night the 7 day notice expires. She doesn't communicate AT ALL. She'll ban your RentCafe accounts preventing you to pay rent and refuse any type of payments you're WANTING to pay and turn around and take you to court for "denying to pay rent" She's been seen peeking through tenants windows and taking pictures of inside their homes, she's kicked out a 70 year old veteran who lived here for 9+ years because he didn't have the funds she demanded when she threatened him. I could go on and on and on about Emily Hotka, if youre looking for a place, wait until she's gone for good, and then apply to live here. The neighborhood is beautiful, the deer are always outside, the neighbors are so friendly, this neighborhood is awesome to live in. We loved every second of our 3 year residency. Emily is a horrible human being, y'all need to bring back Luis Chavez.

The only reason it gets more than 1 star is being situated in a nice quiet neighborhood.

Can't invite friends over as embarrassing to live in this building and the very old and dirty carpet inside and the dirty steps that hits one in the eyes immediately. Why no budget for this building???? We deserve the same as the other tenants!!!! There has been talk of putting reviews with pictures of the ratty condition. Also, we are tired of the drug dealing and strange people in the next entry. The strange behaviors and traffic is really irritating for those of us who are good, honest neighbors!! Very frustrating.

My husband and I decided to stay at West Hampton because it was in a good location close to things…read morethat mattered to us. It started off well then went down hill. 1- we decided to adopt a cat after my cat passed away, I called the office and inquired what steps need to be made, if our building allowed cats- how rent would change ect. After we got our cat I called to give them my info to find out that the girl I spoke to gave me incorrect information and that I would now have to move apartments if I wanted to keep my cat. I talked to the Manager Shawn who was less than helpful. I don't have much nice to say about him. So we ended up moving apartments to a different where we were told we didn't have to sign a new lease because it was a transfer. Not the case. So we had to sign a new lease which we didn't want to do. 2- our apartment flooded in our walking closet and living room after we got a bunch of rain. We didn't get someone in there until 3 months after the fact to have our carpets cleaned. It was so much water that it went up over your toes. We had to go out and purchase a shop vac because one couldn't be lent to us. I used every towel we owned to soak it up- didn't even make a difference that's how much water there was. So my husband and I shop vaced our carpets. 3- our washer broke-- so anytime you start the washer it will continues to fill with water because the sensor don't shut off. So my husband trying to help threw in a load of laundry not knowing that it was broke and we went to bed. He woke up to use the restroom to find that our living room was flooded and the kitchen. We called maintenance and they came to help- I wish I knew the guy's name because he was very nice and had us set until the next day when someone could look at that washer and fix it. The guy came the next day said it was fixed so I tried it only to have the apartment flood again. 4- the new apartment we moved into after adopting a cat it snowed-rain mix and our carpet started to soak through enough that it went between my toes. Turns out the concrete was cracked so they cut the carpet in two places to patch it. Which left two very noticeable spots. Very much a eye sore. 5- after they fixed the carpet from our above problem they were going to have someone come in to clean the carpets. They never showed on the day I was told. So I come home the next day to see that they came in without telling me like law requires-24hour notice. They moved some of the stuff that was left out since we didn't expect anyone to be in or place. In moving things they broke two of our dishes and when I called to talk to the office they made me feel foolish for calling to complain that they let someone into our place without our knowledge and then complained we didn't pick up more so they could clean the carpets when we didn't know they were coming. I wouldn't suggest this place to my friends and family. My husband and I won't renew our rental agreement when it's due this year. Save yourself the headache.
