Last week, one of them started declining very quickly, and Dr. Briley took extra time to explain her condition and what she was experiencing with the utmost compassion. Once we realized she wasn't able to recover after days of treatment, Dr. Briley helped us navigate the "not too early/not too late" conundrum of euthanasia and was able to come to our home to help her pass on. For a day you never want to come, it was the absolute smoothest and peaceful experience for our little girl. The staff was all so kind and considerate during this difficult time, and even sent us a card in which each one of them wrote a sweet message with their condolences. Country Club is now helping us keep our remaining dog as comfortable as possible for as long as possible. I figured out in time he was the vet. I had to bring up all the preventative things. His answers were short and impatient. Anyways we got shots. One thing I didn't like was him sticking a thing up my dogs butt without asking first. I get it. Things need to be done. But in talking with family I could have just collected a sample. My parents have gone to this clinic for as long as I can recall. Over the years we have owned…read morenumerous dogs and Deville clinic has been our go-to. Of course, that changed today in a major way. I would urge people to please take their pet elsewhere. After being told that Friday was the absolute earliest any appointment could be made and despite our willingness to wait patiently at the facility (In the parking lot, NOT even crowding the waiting room mind you) to be seen, my mother was turned away from having her dog cared for even though she assured them he was in need of medical attention. His breathing was labored and he was not well at all. The female veterinarian told my mother to find another vet and take her dog elsewhere and I quote, "He's obviously not dying". What kind of cold person with zero compassion and care says that to someone in great distress over the health of their cherished pet?? My mother then phoned a different clinic which she'd never been to before and they took her dog in IMMEDIATELY and began tests. They were so compassionate and kind through it all and by the end of the visit it was made clear through the testing and x-rays that her dog was indeed in heart failure and dying. We sadly had to say our goodbyes and send his soul to rest in heaven. It was a terrible time but thankfully he is not suffering any longer. That being said, I DO NOT recommend that anyone trust Deville Clinic in Abbeville with the life and wellbeing of their loved companions. Veterinarians are doctors just like any other and swear an oath to caring for the lives they see daily. How then does someone justify refusing care to a dying patient?? What a low thing to do.

And just when I needed them most yesterday 12-22-23 because his eye was swole up shut and leaking very bad, they refused to see him at 4:18 PM on a Friday afternoon because the Vet (Mary W.) had already left the office early for the weekend and she refused to come back to see him! I had to end up taking him to LAF Veterinarian Clinic and they were wonderful, caring and compassionate and they took good care of him. Turns out he had a very bad Cornea Abrasion and needed immediate treatment and antibiotics!! I will NEVER EVER use DeVille again nor will I recommend them to anyone!! It was truly disappointing and disheartening that they wouldn't see him, a regular client of theirs!! PATHETIC!!!
