Karl Stelter Films. What more is there to say? Like many of you that are probably reading this review, I too was once in your shoes. I wasn't even thinking about hiring a videographer and let alone the importance of one until I decided to document my proposal. So I started searching for a videographer on freelance sites, but many or should I say most of the videographers that I spoke with didn't specialize in shooting anything with my specifications and their work didn't quite meet my mind's eye of how a work like this should be constructed. So after searching through a few more wedding videographers and feeling a little disheartened by this point, I found Karl. I am not sure what made me click on his site, but when I watched his videos, I felt I found someone who created works of art that incorporated not only a great story but the human element behind the story. So I contacted him. At this point, I wasn't sure that he would be able to help me, because another well regarded videographer told me what Karl and I did was nearly impossible, so needless to say I didn't get my hopes up.
When Karl and I spoke the next day and he said the impossible could be done and in a way that he tells the story, I was ecstatic. After all, I contacted a number of vendors, but Karl was by far my first choice, so when he said this, I was willing to pay him whatever he wanted; onto the planning phase. Over the course of 8 hours or so on our first day of shooting, we met at the interview location, proposal location and met with the musician to go over every little detail to pull this proposal off without a hitch. Once we were confident everything was good to go, we departed to wait for the big day.
The big day came and everything leading up to the proposal went wrong, but that's life. Thank God, we had a solid plan in place to get us on track. Walking up to the proposal site was nerve racking, but Karl documented my proposal in Karl fashion and I am pretty sure that video is public, so you can see what I mean. After the proposal, my wife and I started planning for our wedding and while I wanted to hire Karl again, my wife really wanted us to stay on budget. Then I got to thinking, we can't have an incredible proposal video without an incredible wedding video and by this time, Karl was family, so we couldn't leave him out of this journey. Long story short, I had to fire another videographer and hire Karl. With that, you can see the second installment of our video because that one is public too.
All in all, your life moments are yours to document in a way that accurately and precisely tells your story. For me I needed someone that looks at the details to find the human element behind the story to tell a story that portrays exactly what that moment or story is supposed to be. Karl does this. At this point, I look forward to working with Karl in the future. Sharing this journey with Karl who has a gift to tell a story in its true essence is awe inspiring. There are really no words that I can use to describe what that experience is like other than you need to experience it for yourself. Good luck to everyone searching for their author to tell their story, I sincerely hope you find what you are looking for. read more
