Average service for a seemingly high price in the hotel zone of Cancun, Mexico…read more
Visiting for a week, I decided to stop in for a mani/pedi combo on a rainy day. Right next store to my hotel, so I wouldn't get wet on the walk over. $50 USD, I'm told, plus tip and credit card service charge, should I use one.
Pedicure started a bit rocky as the faucet of the sink basin wasn't working properly. My technician had to draw water from another receptacle and deliver it to the basin. On to the pedicure, she drew blood on not one, but two different toes with her cutting of nails. When scrapping my feet for dead skin, I had to prompt a stop as she scrapped a bit too much. I did count my toes to make sure I had all ten.
Manicure was a bit better with technique and cutting style. About halfway through the mani, I was offered a refreshment - water, tea, or coffee. I opted for espresso an hour into my visit.
Staff were okay, although they spoke little to no English for a seemingly high-end business in the Cancun hotel zone. Personally, I won't return.
