Unfortunately, Karin provided the worst professional experience that I have had to date. I hired her two years ago to help with my business and personal taxes for self and entire family. I sent clients her way in that time period as well. Unfortunately, Karin doesn't take time to review all the information provided and leaves a lot for her staff to do. She ultimately doesn't see the big picture which creates issues in the long run. She has made several mistakes on my taxes that my financial advisor found, did not follow up on missing info, ignored information provided and made decisions that were quite unethical without discussing first which we did not agreed to. It seems like the only thing she cares about is making a buck with no regard for her customers. Outside of being unethical, not service oriented at all, her ego is so huge that you are not allowed to question her or she gets really testy and actually allows herself to raise her voice as well. When my mother passed away, I needed some advice on her trust. Langwasser & Company CPAs charged me over $200 for less than one hour of verbal advice. I was told that just to get something called an EIN, it would cost over $1000. I later found out an attorney would have done the same thing for less than half. The attorney told me it only takes a couple of weeks to get an EIN. It took Langwasser & Company CPAs over 3 months. I had 3 tax returns to prepare: mine, my mother's and the trust. I was charged over $3000. I gave Langwasser & Company CPAs all the necessary paperwork in December, and they barely made the April 15th cut off. They wanted me to file an extension so that they could make even more money. In June, I received yet another bill from them, claiming that I owed over $200 more. They made up fake invoices, claiming never agreed upon services. They also threatened to just charge my credit card. When I was getting my taxes done, they rarely returned phone calls. When they tried to extort more money from me after my taxes were complete, they wouldn't stop calling. I refused to talk to them over the phone; because I wanted everything documented. It makes me sick to think that there are predatory companies that prey on the vulnerability of others. Inevitably tragedy will strike these individuals. I hope that they receive the same treatment that they practice. For the sake of your loved ones, please do not use their services. read more

I closed my business and moved out of state; a decade later I received a letter from the Franchise Tax Board indicating I owed 20K due to my own negligence. My entire extended family has been going to Langwasser for YEARS to handle all kinds of tax situations (trusts, divorce, remarriage, filing singly/jointly), including my husband's home business. She has definitely earned plenty of our money over the years. Last year we closed our home business, but we kept our tax appointment because we had a baby 2 weeks prior, and were willing to pay for help to just get it out of the way. We had simple W2s and a couple of CD's to report. The appointment lasted *seven* minutes, and we were charged FOUR HUNDRED DOLLARS! I could understand charging us $100 for something we could have done in Turbo-Tax, but FOUR HUNDRED? That's $57.14 per MINUTE, to customers who would have returned when we reopen our small business. We told the staff plainly, that we would never be back. They didn't even blink. AND, they had the NERVE to auto-generate another appointment for us this year, and expect us to show up.
