I have only good things to say about Dr. Clark. I've been her patient for about 4 years now and…read morewill follow her wherever she goes. She is personable, takes her time and listens to my concerns. .She doesn't order unnecessary lab work and is super gentle with exams. She is a real down-to- earth person too, I've gotten a lot of good advice from her. The office is small and comfortable. I've never felt like a just a number to them and they have always responded to me quickly either by phone or patient portal. I've always been able to get an acute appointment within days of having an issue.Liz gets me checked in and is really nice.

Finding a gynecologist is a horrendous task. Though there's an abundance of them, the quality is…read morereally lacking but in not this clinic! I found the staff extremely helpful and caring. Even though they were running 30mins late, you can tell the staff felt terrible and tried everything in their power to speed up the process. They definitely made you feel appreciated which is something you don't find often unfortuantely. Once I got into the room, I was out in 10-15mins. Scarlet (RN gynecologist) was respectful and not once did i feel uncomfortable. Tip: Fill out your past medical history and other forms online, it makes the process a lot faster. The portal also updates you on your visit and lab/test results.

Is it weird to give your gynecologist 5 stars? I think not…read more The Carolina Women's Research and Wellness Center (CWRWC)--AKA the Women's Wellness Clinic because it's WAY easier--is a small, all-female practice that really goes above and beyond to make its patients (well, this patient at least) feel good about going there. The facility is sterile without feeling it--the exam rooms are stylish and cozy with pretty sinks, cabinets, and chairs, and the art on the walls is actually really nice. I see Dr. Lukes who is totally awesome. When she explains things, I don't feel like she dumbs them down or gets too scholarly (and she doesn't know I have a background in reproductive health/have a healthy level of interest in my lady parts). Being in those stirrups is never fun, but at least Dr. Lukes and the Women's Wellness Clinic make it much more comfortable than any other practice I've been to.

Don't you know how babies are made?" "Lady, you're a preggo dinosaur, you're 35!!" And of course my favorite, "Don't gain too much weight, you know how hard it is to lose." Listen here docs, I'd rather not have you breathing down my neck when pregnancy is already so hard! AND TO THAT DOCTOR WHO MADE MENTION OF MY WEIGHT GAIN, I'VE LOST ALL THE WEIGHT AND THEN SOME!! Take that sucker! I'm happy to be in the market for a new women's doctor.

5 stars for the practice 3 stars for this particular…read morelocation When you make a new appointment, they'll probably send you to this location but just ask to go to their Brier Creek office. It was opened July 2009 and it's prettier, cleaner, and has more updated equipment. If my memory serves me correctly, this practice has 8 or 9 doctors. All are female docs except 1 male who is fluent in both English and Spanish. You don't get to pick the doctor who will deliver your baby, however, they make sure that in your rotation of appointments you see all of them. Needless to say, I was a pregnant patient here :-) All the doctors at Duke Women's Health have a great bedside manner. They were all willing and interested in hearing what I had to say. I was sure I'd get an eye roll when I brought over my long birth plan sheet/questions but they were actually good with all the requests I made. Their approach is to give you the birth you want (epidural / med free). They don't lean towards one or the other. The doctors' main concern here is to deliver a happy and healthy baby for you. Remember the swine flu scare? This practice was one of the first medical networks in NC to receive the vaccination. So if you were a patient here and pregnant at the time, you had first dibs on both swine and regular flu shots. I knew plenty of pregnant women who became housebound because the private practices they were patients of couldn't get access to them. I had a great experience here. I've pretty much decided to stay in the Duke Health network for any specialist I have to see.

I've had mostly positive experiences here in the past--typically around 4 stars. However, one…read moreconsistent issue has been long waits in a freezing room, wearing only a sheet, well past my appointment time. This included my most recent annual, where I was told we could do a biopsy, but the doctor arrived 40 minutes late and ultimately said she didn't have time. Unfortunately, the last three months have been truly frustrating. I had a small, persistent irritated spot below my clitoris, and my usual doctor referred me to Dr. Schreiber for biopsy/removal. While Dr. Schreiber was pleasant, she mistakenly removed tissue from the wrong area (labial skin). A simple "Can you confirm this is the correct spot?" before the procedure could have prevented this error. At the stitches removal appointment, she had the nerve to tell me I was wrong and that the spot I'm indicating was just irritation from the stitches below it. She agreed to remove it anyway, but didn't suggest sending it to the lab, even though I'm a recent stage 4 rectal cancer survivor. She was wrong, of course, because I felt more comfortable having just had a part of my body cut off and silver nitrate put on it than I did the entire 3 previous weeks. Over the course of multiple follow-ups and messages, my concerns were continually minimized or dismissed. I saw four different doctors: two brushed it off as inflammation, one worsened the issue by removing additional skin, and another prescribed estrogen cream only after I brought it up--and then ignored my biopsy request. Let's say they never resolved the issue, and I'm being treated by a dermatologist now who actually cares about helping. Adding to the frustration, I can never reach anyone on the phone except scheduling, and that's including the triage nurse.

Doctors are fantastic, informative, and willing to take time to answer all your questions. Only reason for the lack of stars is due to the front staff, I've never had a good experience with them. They are rude, have an attitude, roll their eyes, and expect you to read their mind when they need something. I tried to ask one questions about the payment, and they just plainly stated I should read what I signed better, when I was not asking a question about what I signed.
