    $25 mix bag

Do I have a sweet tooth? 1000% yes. I've got an account at my local candy store, drive out of my way to hit the sweet factory, and have friends bring me local sweets from their vacations. Am I a Swedish candy expert? No. My Swedish candy tasting experience is about as far as Swedish berries or fish which I assume are westernized in some capacity. Karameller is all over social media for me right now, so naturally I had to try it. Upon arrival it's just a small wall of variety bags of candy. Everything listed on their website is not on the wall. They have a small shopfront with open bins where they are able to help you build your own bag too. My initial reaction to Karameller is it's pricey. When you think about a sour candy costing 5cents, it doesn't scream bang for your buck. However, the flavours are certainly stronger and perhaps the quality of craftsmanship is there too (which I'm unable to distinguish by taste). The large bag was $25 and the smaller bags are $6. Aesthetically the packaging is cute but the candy is very middle of the line to me. Some I really enjoyed and others I preferred their 5cent candy equivalent flavor. Personally I would rather spend my money on a bag of Haribos or some British candies but everyone has different candy palettes.

I came across this candy shop randomly while looking at what's around Kitsilano and wow!! I'm so glad I went to try it out!! I bought one gift bag for a friend, and one smaller bag for myself. Every gummy I had in my bag was phenomenal. Maybe the best gummy candies I've ever had. Perhaps it's the "no high fructose corn syrup"? Unsure, but the flavours were GIVING and the textures were perfect for my soft mouth. Not too gummy and not too hard. I'm glad this shop is nowhere near me because I would go broke and develop diabetes. Service was really energetic and welcoming. You can get a mixed bag of candies of your choice. They need to serve you though, so it can take a while. Self-serve would be much more efficient. The shop storefront is very small, felt a little claustrophobic as more and more people kept coming in and waiting in line.

You can't see it because it's dark chocolate.

I really like this candy shop, not the song so much. I try to come here every time I'm in town to get a few bags of goodies to snack on for the duration of my trip. Love this little Swedish candy store with great selections to choose from. From speaking with the staff, the candy is imported from Scandinavia and has no HFCS, no trans fat and GMO stuff. As long as it taste good, I'm cool with it. I usually get a bag of sweet and sour candies, and then a bag of just mixed up chocolates. They do sell little gift jars where you can fill it up as much as you can, as long as the lid closes, for a flat rate. Staff has always been friendly & helpful. Shop is clean, tidy and orderly. They do not reuse scoops or tongs after each customer, as they will wash it before it goes back into rotation. This shop may be a little tough to see as it is a very small shop in the middle of Yaletown. Definitely a place to stop in and grab some sweets!

Very solid 3.75 stars, their decor and prices fit the hood ;) Oddly when I'm not in the chocolate mood, I like their half and half... Just wished they carried more coke bottles.

Cute little candy shop on Mainland Street in Yaletown. The candy does not have high fructose corn syrup which makes it slightly better for you. They have a wide variety of flavors and candies/chocolates. It was a bit pricey ($3.99/100grams) but was worth it for the quality of candy. Can't wait to return!

Candy selection will depend on if popular flavours run out that day or are on order. The sign changes for extra cheekiness.

Perfect timing for a new Swedish candy shop to open in Yaletown over the summer when I had recently visited Stockholm and was in candy heaven with all of their candy shops. This little shop is a treat (pun intended) to indulge in special candies that you can't find at supermarkets or other local candy shops. The shop owners are friendly and will answer any questions. There is a large selection of candies with names and ingredients listed. Tongs are available to use and then customers put them in a bin to be cleaned. The hardest part is not going overboard choosing candies to try. Favourites include the fudge, Swedish fish, Rambo sour cola, skulls and sour raspberry-flavored gummies. At $3.49/100g, definitely pick 1-2 to sample of various candies. I've made several return trips already and will be a regular customer.

I can't compare the variety that they have here to the variety that they have at an ICA Maxi, but I can say it's vast. Every bin is filled with sweet, sour, and chocolate goodies. You can use tongs or a scoop. Once you're through, dispose of the tongs or scoop in a bin before you approach the register for checkout. Så mycket godis o smakar gott!

Really great! Love the fact that their candy is made from "real" whole sugar ingredients. Only downfall is not being able to taste what you put in your bag before buying it in bulk. Had a few treats that were not to my liking but overall was super pleased!

It's owner/operated, and in this world of "craft" this, and "artisan" that.. this place doesn't need to say that, because they just are. They are the original craft artisans, using old techniques to make the most delicious things you can put in your mouth and chew on... Prices? not high.. consider the cost of things in general, and most of the items there are a "steal". I recommend the brittles.. because they are made there, and perfect. The jellies, also house made, are better than basically anything I have purchased in ages, and honestly, let's be real... they taste fresh made, because THEY ARE. Hands down, quiet class... you want good candy, NOT made in some factory... this is the place. When you are done buying their entire shelf of stuff, then go down the street and find some artisan coffee... to wash it all down.
