I agree with Tatjana H. We had a very similar experience. I'm surprise he gets good reviews. We hired him based on these reviews & on someone's recommendation but was extremely disappointed. After the first initial phone conversation, he was impossible to get a hold of. Contracts have to be read carefully as what he says over the phone & what's written can be different such as his fees & hidden costs. In the end, we were too far along to change lawyers. He got the job done but left us with a bitter taste for such a lawyer. All he cared about was money. We will not be recommending him to others. read more

I had a very bad experience with this office. Brian was the lawyer who closed on a property I bought in Jersey City 7 years ago. He was the Settlement Agent (not the Title Company). The Title Company he used made a terrible mistake which resulted in my Title not being clear. I had no idea this happened until I went to sell the property this past January. Brian offered no assistance in clearing up this matter and blamed it on the Title Company. However Brian was the Settlement Agent and he should have seen this through so that it was fixed but he did not take any responsibility in the matter and simply said "that's what you have Title Insurance for". Ultimately my (new) lawyer who I used for my closing was able to rectify the situation but at an increased cost of over $2500 which I had to pay out of pocket for Brian's error. I changed my review from 1 star to 3 stars. After this review was posted and we addressed our concerns the service improved a lot. I wish he would have been that determined from the beginning. It seemed he was worried that the contract fall through and that he would not get paid. I would not recommend him as it was a hustle in the beginning. We hired Brian because of the great reviews. I called him up and loved the conversations with him on the phone, i was convinced he is a good guy, and even though we had different recommendations we hired him... but our experience was not as great as we hoped for. We had to chase him for everything along the way. He simply copied email content out of our conversation and used in later emails. Dates and timelines were wrong in a lot of documents. It just was not great as you had zero trust in his work and you had to review everything very very carefully to ensure there is not another hidden mistake in the documents. Clear negatives for our site were over read by him. We called this out to him in the beginning of the process - he promised to improve, but there was no evidence. Since we are bound to a timeline there was no chance to change to a different lawyer so we had to stick with him. But we would never hire or recommend him to anyone. He is hands down the worst lawyer I have ever had to deal with. We hired him to be our real estate lawyer when we were selling our apartment in Hoboken. He lied to us about the non resident tax saying we would be able to get our 2% of the sale price back from the state in about 3 months -- turns out you can't get that money until you file your return the following year. That would have been nice to know in the beginning of the process. His team takes ages to get back to you and only does so when you get nasty. Avoid him at all costs. read more

I have worked with several attorneys in the past for my home closing and also commercial leases and learned from those experiences that it's important to choose an attorney who really knows their stuff and is truly meticulous. With other attorneys, I have personally seen paperwork that is riddled with typo errors, which gives me a clue as to how sloppy their work quality is and how little time they put into reviewing the material (after all, the devil is in the details! Who knows what else they missed in that giant pile of paper?) -- that sets off all kinds of alarms for me. With Brian, I find that he not only speaks about the legal details with authority but is also patient and understanding as most clients have limited to no experience with real estate deals. I was not really impressed with the service to start and basically the deal was able to close. I was told to pay for title insurance which i did in the amount of $2200. Brian says we use this one company main Street title which they are great. no biggy. Then a few months later i get a bill for about $600 but no worries i have title insurance right? This has been 4 months and counting and continue to get the run around from the title insurance company. So i asked Brian for some help in this matter which i have received little to no help. You were so hot to recommend them but not help when clearly there in the wrong. I just wish i did not take brians advice and pay for title insurance because right now i am feeling like i just now got taken for $2800. read more
