I had no idea about the college enrollment process. One day, I got on the website for Delaware…read moreTech and emailed a random person asking them the process for enrolling at Delaware Tech. Mrs. Bernat emailed me back and told me to call her. This wonderful lady explained the step by step enrollment process. Because she was so kind and eager to help me, I enrolled in fall semester of 2012. I filled out an admissions form online. I called to schedule a placement test. After the placement test, I spoke to a college advisor that helped me choose my classes. My college advisor, Mr. Handling, is wonderful. Mr. Handling has taken the time to understand my educational needs, which has made my transition to college much easier. He has guided me in choosing the appropriate classes for my major. This summer, I decided to take summer classes. Mr. Handling advised me that summer math classes required lots of work in a short period of time. He suggested that I only take two classes this semester. I am so glad I listened to him. The college advisors at Delaware Tech truly care about the academic success of the students that seek their guidance. My most challenging class was my math class this summer. I could not have passed my math class if it was not for my previous math teacher Marney and my current teacher Amanda. In addition, there is a wonderful group of tutors at the Math Success Center. I spent my summer at the Math Success Center being tutored by Marty, Chelsea, Rich, Kyle, Paul and Sam. I was really struggling to learn algebra, however, with the help and encouragement of all the staff members at the center I passed my class. I could not thank the math center staff enough for their dedication and determination to see me and other students do well in class. They truly do care and strive to help everyone that enters the Math Success Center. The service is free and worth taking advantage of. I am truly grateful and appreciate every person that has sat with me and encourage me at the Math Success Center. I truly love being a student at Delaware Tech. The teachers and staff are super friendly. The College student body is very diverse. There are many non-traditional college students such as myself. I was scared to be the oldest person in class. It is wonderful being in a class with people as young as 18 and old enough to be a grandparent. I truly love Delaware Tech!

You will get in trouble for not answering your phone during your off time, but the Ohio ops manager and all of the supervisors will go for DAYS before responding to you. Supervisors operate under zero accountability for the way the conduct themselves with their subordinates, but every move the subordinates make is on camera or on a computer log to be scrutinized at will whenever someone so desires. Unfriending a supervisor on Facebook will get your work scrutinized to the hilt, so under no circumstances should you be anything but professional in your relationships with any superiors, they are not your friends.

Her continuous challenge with math has drawn me to register her at the The Tutoring Center in Middletown.Although a little pricey, It seems to be well worth it. In just 3 days, My daughter's confident level has increased tremendously. She loves the one on one attentin and has the best attitude about math now. I must add, the center is very well organized, and the teachers seems to be very focus on the students learning. This has been my impression from the intake process until now. The Tutoring Center is well worth the investment and my plan is for my daughter to continue until she graduates high school. Highly Recommend

In a nutshell...Our journey started with a focus on social emotional development, resulting in age appropriate responses, increased classroom productivity (attention and positive participation), decreased outbursts and breakdowns. We maintained our follow up and check in appointments over two years and reengaged in the program when OT therapy was recommended for reading and handwriting support. After a summer with Brain Balance, he was reevaluated and showed significant improvement, eliminating the need for OT support. We continue to maintain follow up check ins and will not hesitate to partner with Brain Balance if and when needed.

The University of Delaware, with its main campus in Newark, Delaware had its beginnings in 1743 and…read moreevolved into a public institution of higher learning; named Newark College (1765) and then Delaware College (1843). It was not until 1921 that it became University of Delaware. Honestly, I wouldn't care all that much, but for the fact that my son has decided to attend as a college freshman in September. Suddenly, it is very important to me. I've since learned that it is one of the oldest universities in the USA, and is ranked #127 of 1,647 colleges in America and #77 of 366 for engineering schools (my son plans to study aerospace engineering). True, it is also #35 /1,520 top party schools, and #36/672 top public universities. Ultimately, what he makes of it is up to him. I just hope the partying stat is not important to him (I'm dreaming). The most important part of its mission statement is: "...The University of Delaware promotes an environment in which all people are inspired to learn, and encourages intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, free inquiry and respect for the views and values of an increasingly diverse population." So, what is a Blue Hen, you ask. During the Revolutionary War, Congress commissioned the creation of a military battalion from the lower counties of Delaware. It was captained by John Caldwell, who among other things, was known for breeding fighting gamecocks. His chickens had bluish plumage and were ferocious. His regiment soon adopted the name "Blue Hen Chickens" to note their bravery in battle. The assignation stuck, and it became the mascot of the school in 1911 as the Fightin' Blue Hens in their honor. Brave chickens! Guess I'll have to get used to that oxymoron. Hope my son does their history proud.

Ever since I started at this school, every time they hear an accent, they give you the nastiest look. They treat me with disgust and make me feel like they don't want to give me attention or help me. They act like I don't belong here. Even their police department plays favorites. They want money, no matter how financially draining the decisions they make are going to be for you. I have never suffered from mental illness, but I can tell you that ever since I started at this school, I have been nothing but depressed, worried about how I am gonna get the money to register for classes. I wanna drop out, but I am already way too in, and they used to give some grants, but they removed that as well. They just want money. They don't care who has to die in order for them to get their money. Worst place ever!! Professors like to torment students! No matter what you do, you will find yourself drowning in debts. At this point, I don't even know if I will be able to complete my last year here. I am in that position where leaving is hard and staying is harder. I hope they burn in hell because that's where they belong.
