But then we got Dr. Kallie Foss, M.D. She is FANTASTIC!!! Her bedside manner is unbelievable, she is very knowledgeable about what is ailing my kids (and trust me, with two severe asthmatics and kids who have upper respiratory infections regularly - her knowledge and trust is key!) We trust Dr. Foss implicitly. In fact, today I went to a walk in doctor and they said my son had fluid in his middle ear. There wasn't anything we could do but wait and see if it develops into an earache, or a fever. His pediatrician said that's crazy! We're trying to get him well enough for 30 days so he can have his tonsils and adenoids out, and Dr. Foss prescribed him an antibiotic and said at the first sign of pain or fever, go ahead and start the antibiotic. The other doctor wanted me to wait, come back in, and go through this whole process again in a day or two. In addition to today, Dr. Foss has been on constant watch for my kids with their asthma and upper respiratory issues. Allergies are crazy with them, too, and she's ever vigilant! What I loved about SpiraCare-- 1) in the 3 years I used them, I NEVER had a billing issue (which I've had before and after using SpiraCare, since moving to Kansas, and is exhausting to resolve) 2) scheduling an appointment was easy, and I got to talk to a real human being. After leaving SpiraCare, I realized simply scheduling a preventative annual check-up needed to be done 3+ months in advance and (after leaving messages and playing phone tag) most providers in my network don't even accept new patients, ugh. 3) Blood drawn right there, immediately after appointment. It was super convenient, vs. at my new doctor I had to sit and wait like 30minutes before it was drawn, and had to pay them a $10 convenience fee for them to draw it and have it picked-up vs. me driving to a LabCorp facility separately. Since leaving SpiraCare I've become very acquainted with how jacked up healthcare is in this country, and supposedly my employer has good insurance???

Appointment times have been on schedule. Receptionists have been more than competent and quite pleasant. The ability to complete most new patient paperwork online and in advance of the appointment made my first checkin a breeze. The attention I received was focused and professional. I've said before, in other yelp reviews, when dealing with a medical issue, a doctor's ability to resolve pain or illness is limited by many factors. In reality, the best thing you can hope for is to have people who seem genuinely to care about you as a patient, and thus far, I believe that's the case for KCBJ.
