From the very first visit, I was treated not just as a patient, but as a human being. I especially want to recognize Lynn at reception for always being warm and welcoming. The nurses -- Stacey, Mariam, Kristen, Sarah, and Shelley -- are absolutely exceptional. Each of them has shown genuine compassion, patience, and professionalism. They take the time to listen, explain every step, and make sure I feel comfortable and cared for. I have never once felt rushed or dismissed. Dr. Justensen is knowledgeable, attentive, and truly compassionate. The level of empathy and quality of care this team provides goes beyond medical treatment -- they restore confidence, dignity, and hope during a very vulnerable time. Wound care can be physically and emotionally draining, but this team makes you feel safe, supported, and respected every step of the way. I highly recommend KU's Wound Care to anyone needing specialized, compassionate treatment. You will truly be in the best hands.

After rushing to get my appointment and arriving a little late, the check-in person was so warm and friendly that I was not frantic anymore. She was very personable and kind. The radiologist also had a good bedside manner. She completed my test and I was on my way.

That choice can cost patients thousands of dollars but they can't be bothered even though you have to pay out of pocket. That's not something that someone does who cares about their patients. This is a practice for someone who doesn't have health insurance and wants to risk huge medical bills. But hope that you don't ever need a diagnosis code - to transfer care, to get treatment at a hospital, to go on disability - because our country uses diagnosis codes as the standard of practice, so their lack of interest in spending the time is at the expense of patient well being. Why would anyone pay for a doctor who does not care about their long term well-being or having thousands of dollars out of pocket because the provider doesn't want to learn diagnostic codes?

The staff at the front desk are always friendly and very personable. Amy, Dr. Gatz's nurse is very responsive and so understanding of my crazy work schedule as I travel, and am gone for weeks at a time. I'm very picky when it comes to health care providers, and knowing this, Dr. Gatz has always referred me to a specialist who is exactly what I'm looking for. The new location is beautiful, by the way!

Really unsure what her line of questioning was, as the injury was directly related to and happened DURING a high contact sport. It made me wonder if she was even listening. I won't go into the back and forth details of the exam but if I hadn't pressed for direction on treatment or recovery I would have simply gotten an "I don't know and go see your PCP". If my PCP could have gotten me in for an appointment, I wouldn't have been at the urgent care in the first place. The worst part about the experience was the dismissiveness of the student and the lack of professionalism from the overseeing practitioner. She literally walked out of the exam in a fit. Didn't even end the exam just walked out. I wouldn't recommend this urgent care unless you are in desperate need without any other options. The only positives were the facility was clean and both the front desk and nurse were friendly.

They would run a few blood tests to appease me, but brush over my symptoms and I always left unsatisfied and frustrated. Not anymore!! I'm so happy to have found Dr. Sokol!! He spent over an hour and a half going over my symptoms, asking me lot's of questions diving deep into my medical history - I literally felt like he was a detective trying to get to the bottom of a mystery. By the time the appointment was over, he had ordered a multitude of tests I'd never had ordered before and a referral to another specialist to address an issue he felt important to address but wasn't in his field. All in all, this is the first time in more than 11 years that I've had a doctor truly listen to me and be willing to help me find answers. I'm very happy with Dr. Sokol and highly recommend him to anyone in need of an endocrinologist!!
