Then he asks you questions about your malady, investigates different treatment options, and even takes the time to educate you on your condition. He's also a model of patience and persistence. I was a little lazy about using the peak flow test at first, but Dr. Handoyo didn't get annoyed. He just explained the importance of getting a good baseline record of my lung capacity and how it would help him to provide the best treatment, so I made a commitment to be a better patient. With the pandemic and his specialty, I know he is at a greater risk than other doctors, so I especially appreciate his professionalism and efforts to ensure the health and safety of his patients.

My son was only 2 yrs. old when he started having multiple pneumonias. After two admissions through the ER and overnight stays at Children's Memorial Hospital, clearly my two-yr. old had a problem with his lungs. This brought me to the Pediatric Allergy and Asthma practice next to Oz Park where Dr. Newhall was on staff. At first we saw one of the partners who was alright, except I lost confidence when he reversed the dosing instructions for Singulair. He did pronounce my child's Reactive Disease as Asthma; he also ordered a small allergy panel. The boy was allergic to cats, dust, dust-mites, mold, grasses, trees, springtime. There was a newish cat in the house, who eventually had to go back to the shelter. There was a middle of the night visit to the local hospital ER in Wisc. one Labor Day week-end; an allergic reaction to Ragweed triggered an Asthma attack. I made a follow-up appt., first available, and this is when I met Dr. Newhall. She was so kind, gentle nd caring with toddlers. She was even familiar with the Wiggles, knew their songs. What a delight , upbeat person she was; she had little boys close to my son's age. After that first visit, we never saw another doctor in the practice again. Later when she left to start her own practice, I found an the ad in Chicago Parent with her new office address on Lincoln Ave. and followed her there. My son, now a teen, has been Dr. Newhall's patient ever since. Her achievements are impressive; she was educated at the top educational institutions in the country. She has treated my son's mild allergy-induced Asthma with two or three daily medications. When he would have flares, with middle of the night bouts of continuous coughing, we'd go in to follow up. After I described what happened, she would tell me I should have phoned her at home! What doctor says that? One November, my boy had flu symptoms, fever of 104F degrees. This was during the Swine Flu/H1N1 outbreak. The pediatric practice was unconcerned my son had Asthma and now maybe H1N1; the Pediatricians were not prescribing Tamiflu. I phoned Dr. Newhall, who saw him right away, prescribed Tamiflu which cleared flu symptoms, fever within 36 hrs. Another time I called the Answering service on a Sunday night when my kiddo was having a bronchospasm that the Albuterol wasn't touching. Her partner, Dr. Donell phoned back, said try the steroid inhaler. Success. He is just as wonderful, kind, caring and competent as Dr. Newhall. These doctors are a rare pair; a vanishing breed. Do not hesitate to make an appt. Any negative reviews are unfounded.

The office staff doesn't want to take responsibility or feedback for long lags in information (we have been waiting for over a month for simple lab results) or misinformation (we were told wrong information about the purpose and tactics of a visit and next steps). Not only that but when you confront the staff on these understandably frustrating issues they hang up on you instead of being professional, taking ownership and promising to resolve it. I'm very disappointed in our experience here, and we plan to find another child allergy doctor office, if possible. Food allergies impact families in big ways and this behavior is inexcusable.

From the rude intake to the complete lack of any privacy concerns (they left test results for a friend of mine with a stranger who picked up the phone) it is inexcusable and only does a disservice to the hard-working physicians in this practice. There are tons of qualified people looking for work in the medical industry - make your staff measure up to the levels you set for yourself and don't settle!

So many doctors rely on the information they "know", but that information may be old. Things change quickly in the medical field, and doctors need to constantly educate themselves. I needed to see a doctor fast to get a basic medical assessment done for my insurance at work. I…read moremet with Dr. Florian, who was great. His staff billed my insurance incorrectly and it was rejected. They then tried to bill me the full amount. My work provides a liason for medical difficulties who then got involved and was able to prove they billed my insurance incorrectly and that they would need to re-send the bill. They claim to have done that. 1 year later I get a bill from them for the entire amount again. I get my company liason involved, who is able to see that they never re-billed my insurance with the correct information (they were entering my name in backwards: last name, first, or vice versa, and the insurance system required the opposite). The head of their billing staff fought with me and with my medical liason until she (the liason) managed to get a copy of both rejected claims from the insurance company and see clear evidence that they were still doing it wrong. At that point, the Phoenix biller finally agreed to re-send. 6 months after that, the same thing happened again. It has now been over 2 years since I had my doctor visit, and I just got another bill in the mail today, still never having gone through my insurance...claiming I owe $750 to get a basic health assessment. I don't trust this office; I'm convinced at this point that their billing people are trying to perpetuate some kind of fraud, and I'm sick of being told every 6 months that my Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance somehow won't pay and that I should be responsible for a basic checkup. It's unfortuante because Dr Florian seems like a really upstanding guy.

I had an appointment at 9:30 and Dr. Tanveer did not show up and Sue did not inform us that the doctor will not be in and/or late. When calling the office you get an answering service that supposedly takes messages. I have had a terrible experience overall with this office and I would not refer an enemy to her office. If you have a complaint/concern, there is no feedback or no one to speak with except Sue ( office manager) and she is apparently the problem. If you know someone has an appointment for a Depo why would you waste a person time and gas and not have the medicine in the office. I am so glad that there are other medical offices to choose from and PEOPLE PLEASE DO NOT GO THERE!!!

The waiting area is very clean and neat with a nice entertaining TV. Having a clean clinic is one of the most important things to me. The staff assured me that I would be seen in a timely manner, and they were right. Before I knew it, my name was called to see the doctor. The doctor I saw was very intelligent and knowledgeable. He answered my questions thoroughly and wrote me my prescriptions. One of the best doctors I've ever experienced. The doctor walked me step by step what I needed. I also got a referral quickly and easily. They are able to transfer my records to wherever I needed them without issue. All in all, Hermosa Medical Center was a great experience and I highly recommend anyone to go for their medical needs.

My only meaningful complaint is the television that is on in the waiting room. While watching Maury tell us who is or who is not the father is highly entertaining mid-day, it can get quite distracting while reading a book! The studio audience jeers which is inevitably mixed in with the obligatory multiple *bleeps* for audibly uttered obscenities. There is non-metered parking and metered parking nearby which implies parking is available.

They also have another building, located right across the street. I absolutely adore the doctors here. Been coming here for 5+ years, and each time I am treated with nothing but respect. I always get a call the day before ,confirming my appointment. I never have to wait, sometimes I would come way to early, and if they were not busy I would get seen right away. And i have been seen by more than one doctor here in both buildings. They have valet parking available. Not sure how much it costs since i park on the street being a cheapass. It is a huge building with many doctors, so of course people will have different experiences, depending on which doctor you see.
