Dogz & Katz Luxury Pet Boarding

After touring a bunch of boarding facilities we chose to bring our dog to Dogz & Katz. Since our…read moredog is still young we are starting to bring her for a day here and there as a test run. The first stay was great. Carmen took great care of our dog and our dog was happy during her stay. Carmen (owner) keeps you up to date with posts on social media (if you allow the posts of course). The facilities are over the top! Super Clean! Your dog will get a room (yes an actual room) with a view a hammock bed, with bedding and the option to have a kennel/crate if needed. Your pups will not be in a cold chain link kennel like other boarding facilities. Our dog had a great time and received the loving care we were looking for when boarding our dog. Lots of love and room to roam indoors and outdoors. Which of course meant plenty of exercise for our dog. I would highly recommend Dogz & Katz for anyone looking to board their dog (or cat).

The doghouse is ventilated and has UV light irradiation for return air to assist with germicidal protection. Dogs are let out several times a day for 30 minutes of exercise and play. Cats have rooms that are 6' x 8' with a window and outside bird feeder, a cat tree for lounging, climbing and scratching and lots of individualized attention. There is an Executive Suite that is 11' x 12' too!

The owners/ managers are there onsite, always, even after the dogs are put to bed. All staff is friendly & professional. The dogs go out for supervised playtime several times a day. Doggie personalities are matched for the maximum fun playtime, and elimination of conflicts. When our previous dog was elderly, he was in the "geriatric wing", with dogs in similar situations, similar sizes. They would quietly go about their business, with a little sniffing here & there, no annoying puppies or big dogs to accidently hurt them. Our other dogs have been in the "party wing", where there is much more playtime activity, playing with other dogs & staff. Dogs are supervised at all times by experienced staff that are trained to prevent conflicts, look for signs of behavior changes (which could lead to or indicate problems) and interact for socialization. This kennel is so unlike any other kennel we've ever used. Our dog is so happy when he gets there, we call it "camp" not a kennel. He is also happy when we pick him up, (not stressed like other kennel experiences). Barking is minimal, usually when dogs are coming or going. Generally it is quiet, with all dogs tired out from all their playtimes, (not constant barking like other kennels). When ours comes home, he sleeps & rests, (not pent up like coming home from other kennels). The facility is kept clean & orderly, and you can see it yourself by appointment, (to ensure staff is available to tour you around & take care of all our canine friends). Tell them Ziggy sent you! Their prices are very reasonable for overnights, and they are doing daycare now as well. They also board cats.

They have cameras in every room so you can always see what your pup is up to. They start with a slow introduction with dogs, slowly increasing the number in a room to ensure your dog is okay and not overwhelmed. They have a website for easy online booking or an app as well! I love the app as I waste away my afternoons watching the cameras to see her play! Staff has always been so great and my dog LOVES it here!! When you board, you can specify when and how much your dog eats. You can add on services such as one on one interaction time, snuggle, grooming, nail trim, etc! On your first day, you get a welcome packet and photos of their first day! Minnie and me love it here!

During the summer, spring, and fall she is a-okay because she's walked every single day - but when the walks are shorten because it's 10° we all know what happens. Cue: doggie daycare consideration. They seemed a little understaffed, but hey that's the new normal with COVID. What I can tell you is they average about three dollars an hour with me to take care of my puppy... the same price I'd pay a neighbor kid to walk them - but I get 8-10 HOURS of puppy free time. ... AND puppy is usually completely spent for 10-15 hours after I get her back. She knows exactly what / where Camp BW is and loses her stuff every time we pull up. So - for me five stars. Will update if I get wonky salon services. But for the most part the staff is courteous enough - the hours are right - and it seems to be priced okay. For now I will keep recommending (and budgeting for) CBW for my sanity in our cold MN winter months.
