The presentation was really fun, the food was good, and the portions were generous. The service was a little slow, but overall, I liked the atmosphere and enjoyed my meal

My son and I were warmly greeted and quickly got a table. They even had crayons and a kids coloring paper for him. We ordered the mint lemonade, mixed grill and kunafa. The mixed grill was beautiful displayed and they asked if we would like a photo before putting out the flames! It was plenty for 2. The kunafa was freshly made in house. The staff was friendly and helpful, and love the interior decor. Will be back soon!

Finding this halal steakhouse was a surprise. The ambience was wonderful and upscale. They have a good number of parking spots in their garage, but you need to circle around the building to find it. They offer some fresh salads as complementary. We tried the recommended mint lemonade and strawberry mojito. Since the smoked lamb shoulder was too large for us, we took a ribeye steak and lamb chops. The entrees come with rice or fries. The food may feel a bit bland due to Indian palate, but they have a variety of sauces to complement it. We also tried their desserts, namely tiramisu and kunafa. The kunafa was truly exceptional, the highlight of the meal. Although this place is a bit expensive but it's worth it both for the ambiance and the food.

Halal! All meats are cut an prepped daily then slow smoked for up to 16 hours on hickory wood apples & cherries! So delicious & the staff is incredibly friendly!

The food is delicious here, simple smoked meats with flavorful rice. The hummus etc as sides were wonderful. We loved the vibe of the place and the service was great.

    Falafel & Borek

First, we were greeted by wonderfully welcoming staff & seated with a nice view. The music & lighting were comfortable, not too bright nor too loud. The food was mouthwatering. We started with appetizers of falafel & borek. Both delicious & we loved the pickled beets as a garnish. My husband had brisket while I dined on smoked lamb. Both dishes were absolutely incredible. The lamb meat slid right off the bone. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. We intentionally saved room for desert by taking some of our dinner as leftovers. There was so much food, but we couldn't leave without trying the baklava. We are going to be in food coma for a bit, but it was worth it.

The ambiance was amazing. Felt like such a high end place immediately walking in. The service was great. Brought us everything we needed and made great recommendations. The drinks were top notch, strawberry mojito was excellent. From the apps to the dessert and everything in between I left extremely full and happy. Definetly check it out if you're looking for a new cuisine to try!

If you haven't been to Kanoon in downtown Fishers yet, move it to the top of your list. This place is a genuinely special addition to the Indy dining scene - a fusion of Middle Eastern flavor and slow-smoked American BBQ that somehow makes both cuisines better. We started with a massive smoked meat platter, and the presentation alone is worth the visit - it comes out with an actual tableside fire show, torches licking at the meat as it's set down. The lamb and beef were smoked low and slow until fall-apart tender, dusted in a warm spice rub, and plated with grilled pineapple, fresh rosemary, a smoky harissa-style dip, a bright herb chimichurri, and vibrant pickled turnips and peppers that cut through the richness perfectly. The mixed grill board that followed - kebabs, fries, and a melted, torched cheese wheel oozing over the plate - was just as good. Dessert is where Kanoon really separates itself. We tried three: a warm kunefa blanketed in crushed pistachio and soaked in syrup, a gold-leafed chocolate-pistachio bar with matcha cream and fresh strawberries that tasted like a five-star pastry case, and a baklava served warm with vanilla ice cream melting into the honey. Every single bite was outstanding - not a weak dessert in the bunch. Service matched the food: warm, attentive, and clearly proud of what they're putting on the table. It's halal, family-friendly, and feels upscale without an ounce of pretension. Kanoon isn't just a good meal - it's an experience. Already planning our next visit.

Labneh- phenomenal and light Short rib- and bulgar wheat, falling off the bone, fork tender and seasoned just right. We have bulgar wheat and it had a rice like texture and tomato base that was phenomenal Chicken and smoked rice- the chicken was grilled to perfection and I had it with smoked rice that had a tomato base. Each plate came with pickled veggies that was a nice contrast to the meat. We cannot wait to come back. Adam was amazing in helping us navigate the menu. Ten out of ten all around! If you like smoked meats and great service, you can't go wrong. We cannot wait to come back and try more things off the menu. Please give this place a try, it won't disappoint!

I was very disappointed with my experience here. The meat was extremely dry -- even the brisket was tough like a shoe sole and almost inedible. The rice was also dry and crunchy, as if it had been sitting out for a long time. We ordered grilled vegetables, but they were never brought out. For a place that specializes in meat, the quality and execution were surprisingly poor. Even the garnish on the plates looked canned, which was very off-putting. Overall, this was one of the most disappointing meals I've had in a long time. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this restaurant.

This spot is a must! Service was great & very welcoming atmosphere. Food definitely hit the spot, presentation was top tier & they have so many options, both grilled & smoked meats. I tried the smoked short rib & the mint lemonade was very refreshing. Definitely coming back!

This place was awesome. It's what happens when you blend American BBQ with Middle Eastern flavor. The ambience was great. The service was good. The food was AMAZING! I had the smoked short ribs and they were literally fall-off-the-bone tender and next level tasty. My wife had the lamb chops and they were flavorful. The portions were huge, too. My only complaint is the marketing. I live less than 10 mins from this place and had never heard of it. The uniqueness of marrying two unique styles of cuisine needs more pub/advertisement, especially in a location like downtown Fishers. I wonder if it will survive, but while it's here it is a MUST VISIT. I'll definitely be back!!!

My husband and I came here for lunch today and I can easily say this was the best meal I've had in...ever. We started with the karak chai which was perfectly warm and spiced for this cold day. I could drink gallons of this stuff. Our appetizer was the sambousek which comes with 4 flakey meat pies. They are crispy and flavorful. For our main dishes, my husband got the lamb neck and I got the mixed platter. The portions are huge and the flavor and tenderness of the meat was unbelievable. Finally, for dessert we had the knafe which is literally life changing. Behind the food, the atmosphere and friendly staff are the cherry on top. The owner was so kind and introduced himself to us personally. He helped us with the menu selection and was very attentive . We will be coming here all the time!

We asked to sit at the sushi bar so we could interact with the sushi chefs but, after being in our seats 10 minutes with no greeting or acknowledgement from the sushi guys we asked our waitress, Moira, who said they don't do that here. . By the way and more importantly, Moira greeted us right away and did everything to make us comfortable including allowing us to move to the patio. It's great out here and they've done a good job trying to hide the traffic on 116th. Here are my impressions: Seating, very comfortable and much nicer than I thought. Ambiance, higher end than I thought after seeing photos Wine, the Sancerre was light, not too sweet, and delicious, nice finish. Seaweed salad, delicious! Delmonte roll, Toro (tuna belly!) absolutely wonderful and I enjoyed it to the last bite. Lobster roll, lots of lobster in a light dressing of kimchi mayo on top of the veggie roll. Presentation, all of the dishes came out looking very appetizing. Dessert, Lemon Possette, is fabulous! Custard like but creamier/looser towards the bottom with jam and fresh tanneries on top. It's difficult to stop eating! Chris, the owner, took the time to stop at our table and have a lovely conversation with us and we're so glad he created this touch of Monterey (CA) here in central Indiana. This restaurant is a definite thumbs up!

Tony, our server, was on top of every detail from start to finish. As a result, we had a very enjoyable unrushed experience. Every food item we ordered was terrific: * Crab cakes with remoulade and corn relish were a perfect start. * Beet salad with greens, pecans & goat cheese was exceptional * The Tomato 'soup of the day' had a nice peppery accent * Eye of Ribeye was cooked perfectly to specifications - Medium Rare, Black & Bleu but with Gorgonzola * Sides of Roasted Carrots and Mac & Cheese (slices of a picante pepper added a nice heat) rounded things out nicely. * Wine list is not extensive but enough to satisfy even particular palates (I'm fussy). There were many menu items that intrigued me so a return visit is definitely in the cards.

Very lounger, sexy, chic yet cozy. 5/5. We sat in a booth by the bar. Small comment card, it is far too tight of a walkway. So there's sexy plush bar chairs along the bar top (love a good comfy bar chair with a back!), but then inches behind you- it's a major walkway of constant traffic. You can't stand and mingle w others that are sitting in the bar chairs bc you'll be in the way of a server or other patrons trying to get seated. There's a whole other section of the restaurant that is not inside the bar area - looked nice! Everything here is ala carte, so my guy and I eat got our own meat and then split a bunch of sides. I loved the red wine, filet mignon steak, Mac and cheese, asparagus and potatoes. My guy got the Wagyu steak, and to be honest- we were pretty disappointed. He ate it but he was wishing he was eating my steak. Ha! We also ordered the mushrooms-- I would not order again, they were sub-par. There was something in the sauce that just wasn't hitting the palette right. We usually love the shrooms the most when we go places, but not this night. But hey! You can't win em all! Overall, nice place! Is it better than Harry & Izzy's, 1933, or Provision? No. They still take the cake ;)

I had a failed attempt to dine at this location a few months ago with my extended family of 9 for my dad's birthday. The thing about TR is that they don't take reservations. When my brother and I got there, the hostess had to call a manager, only to tell us that the best they'll be able to do is to put us on the list and when the time comes, they'll have to possibly split us into two groups because they don't have large enough tables to fit the 9 of us. We were quite disappointed and had to take the business to a competitor across town. Needless to say, we didn't enjoy our experience then, but I also fully understand that we were a large group and that's just not their MO. Fine. Letting bygones be bygones. The most recent visit was slightly a smaller group of three, just me and my parents for Mother's day eve lunch. I can imagine it would have been slightly more difficult to get in during prime hours on the day of, but we managed to dodge the stampede this time around. Because of it, it was quite a pleasant experience. The thing that I'm sure everyone knows and appreciates about TR is the affordability. A nice steak plate with 2 sides and plenty of dinner roll refills only costs a couple dimes. I definitely see the appeal for a couple retirees like my parents to come when they're craving some beef. While not your top-tier fine-dining cut, USDA Choice cuts they serve are nothing to sneeze at. Both my parents and I had a great time there. When I'm out on a date, or an event that requires a bit more poise, I probably would opt for one of the other competitors. But for casual occasions, I think I'll give TR a bit more chances, when available. I say that because the closest one to my house is an hour away... lol
