I attended the conceal carry class over the weekend. I was nervous yet excited. If you leave the…read moreclass without learning something you definitely weren't paying attention. It was so informative and full of real life scenarios. If you don't own a weapon you are able to rent one of Dave and Nicole's firearms. This was was great for me because I got to pick up and hold different types and see what felt nice and comfortable. So now when purchasing a pistol I have an idea of what I want. Not only are you allowed to check out the pistols they have so many different holsters. I loved that we were able to check out those as well. At the range the atmosphere was professional yet comfortable besides the wind lol. Dave and his helpers had so much patience and took their time helping everyone. Dave and his wife Nicole make you feel like family and not just another business transaction. If you are thinking about firearm classes you can't go wrong going with Sights on solutions.

Midwest Permaculture is the premier resource for sustainable living in the Midwest climate…read more Permaculture is ethical and ecologically minded solutions. The Permaculture Design Course they offer leads you through every aspect and subject with ideas on how to improve your systems not only in your environment, but with inspiration about how you can go into this work in your community. Through the heart of permaculture's ethics of people care, earth care and future care, the table is set to work harmoniously with nature, and Bill and Milton are there to make it so relatable and understandable. I think this would be a great program for anyone to take, and could heartily recommend any offerings from Midwest Permaculture, money spent with them is money well spent, because it also goes out into the world and magnifies worthy projects they support around the world.

My friend had invited me to the open house that they were having at the Center for Sustainable…read moreCommunity (CSC). I was intrigued with the concept of living off the land and leaving a small footprint. I've always wanted to be able to do that but didnt quite know how. The location wasn't too difficult to get to from Chicago. It was about a 90 minute drive and there was little to no traffic on the way there. The directions on their website made it easy to find. https://midwestpermaculture.com/tour-midwest-permaculture-stelle-il-center-sustainable-community/ I was blown away by how different the community looked from the surrounding areas. On one side of the road was corn fields and open grassland. Then upon making a left turn, we're in modern suburbia only in this area most of the community is all about sustainable living. I was in awe by how easy it seemed to live a modern life while living off the land. It was great. The small community also seemed like something I wanted to be part of. A small neighborhood with friendly helpful neighbors. Maybe one day I'll be part of this secret cool society? Bill and Becky were wonderful hosts to us. Bill gave us a tour of the entire community and provided a thorough history of how things were as well as the future plans for the land. Lunch was delicious and tasted so fresh and I made sure I got a copy of the recipe so I could replicate it when I got home to feed my friends. They are doing great things here and I can't wait to come back in a few years to check out the progress of the community and the tiny camp homes they are building here. In the meantime I'm going to do some research about permaculture and learn as much as I can. Thanks for opening up my mind to this stuff and keep up the great work!

Raymond and Tina are great instructors and great people too. They have been training and coaching people in the use of firearms for years and it shows. Their training environment immediately made me feel welcome and safe. The course material was clearly laid out and all of my questions were answered. The shooting portion of the class was done in their INDOOR range. Great!!! Safety was constantly emphasized. They teach all 16 hours of Illinois' required Concealed Carry training. They also teach basic pistol and rifle classes and defensive firearms classes as well. I Highly recommended all of their services to anyone looking to fulfill their concealed carry training as well as anyone looking to learn about firearms and the shooting sports.
