Facility: everything is extremely clean, organized, and looks new. This is within the Queens Crossing building, one of the newest structures in downtown Flushing, so it was not surprising. Personnel: I must commend my physician, Doctor Sophia Lee: http://www.northshorelij.com/hospitals/find-a-doctor/sophia-yungwen-lee-md-11360533. She had a staff of people who were so professional. I was stabbed three times and shot twice. Two vaccines and one blood drawing. A few days afterwards, I was given a phone call to talk, in detail, about my blood work. And, perhaps most important, I was seen (relatively) on time! So rare for most Doctor's offices nowadays.

I also like that they are willing to share blood test results over the phone unlike some other clinics who make you go in and pay copay again to get the results. I had one negative experience with a covering doctor. She didnt really talk to me or get to know me and just prescribed medicine. But she has now gone to start her own practice elsewhere.

An update that pretty much reflects other reviews:…read more I saw Dr. Jia Hong just to get a form filled out. She recommended I come in for a checkup since I was a first time patient. Went through the motions and later got billed for a urine test by the diagnostic company. They called later to schedule a blood test since my results were abnormal - and they'll reach your emergency contact to get you to schedule if you don't answer. I called back and scheduled, but a day before my appointment I called to ask about the diagnostic test and other billing questions only to be met with blame shifting and defensive posturing. It's pointless to be detailed about a short conversation- but these receptionists obviously aren't in the business of anything other than crunching your information. For a doctors office to visit and get forms filled, it's not bad. If you want anything better than a doctor who points at a chart telling you need to diet, take your time and look for someone with a little more tact.

The doctor and her medical staff are both compassionate and conscientious. They have helped a lot with our issues of aging - blood pressure, pre-diabetes, low bone density, etc. The reception staff does a very professional and even-tempered job of helping patients with a wide variety of medical coverage, many of whom do not understand the US medical system, and whose first languages include many dialects. They even tolerate my attempts to communicate in Chinese with good humor even though their English is much better than my Mandarin. As to accusations of poor manners in reception... yeah I don't get a lot of love and giddy happiness to see me, but I have never been treated badly and never waited an excessive amount of time when I showed up for an appointment.

It happened the moment I spoke Chinese, which made me feel extremely uncomfortable and unwelcome. I don't know what she intended to imply, but regardless of whether she didn't understand the language or had another reason, her reaction came across as disrespectful and unprofessional. Patients should never be made to feel judged or embarrassed simply because they speak a different language. Healthcare staff are expected to treat every patient with courtesy and respect. Unfortunately, this interaction left me feeling that I was not welcomed because of the language I speak.

With Northwell taking over that whole area, they installed a new door by the 39th Ave entrance by the elevator and I think the Main Street entrance is closed off now. The 4th floor Northwell Health is primiarily Cardiology now and General Surgery is now on the first floor. Reception was very attentive and helpful. The wait wasn't long for a morning appointment. Overall, I really like the facility.

Hon) deserves 6 stars (damn you Yelp!) for taking care of me with excellence and courtesy, that's what a family gastro doctor should be like! The nurses are pretty good, they show courtesy and help me carry stuff around, overall assistance is 5 stars, however the shortfall is that their English is not the best. I do wish they keep improving and aim for a better more audible English eventually. I sometimes can't always speak Mandarin when my brain is stuck and can't find the right words at that exact time. Still, Cantonese and Mandarin is vital in Flushing. At least they tried and I tried. But the language barrier isn't enough to cost a star. Overall, a great experience and I am happy with it! This is why it gets 5 stars! I'll be sure to return for future endoscopes and colonoscopies when needed!

I was referred by a close friend who's a physician assistant (does not work for them). If they go to him as a patient it's gotta be a trusted place right? The tone of this clerk's (Tina's) voice was very condescending and as if she's instructing a toddler what to do. Didn't even apologize and she even called back without introducing herself and using a different number. I will never recommend this clinic and I will spread to everyone what a crappy service I have encountered with this clinic!
