It's because everybody in the shop was not wearing face masks. Not a care in the world wether they spread their lung droplets all over the enclosed area. This place is disgusting. No care for the people who are at high risk for Covid. No thank you. Will probably never return. Hopefully I didn't get infected by someone who's Asymptomatic. I'm not oblivious,, thank God I don't live in this state. On my drive back, I'll just gas up before the state line and drive over this state. Don't stop here. Thank you so much for reading my review. I hope this helps with your decision making experience. Enjoy your awesome yelptastic day.

During the summer they had a $0.69 large Big Gulp promotion but their fountain drink machine was out of order the whole time. Then, when the price went back up, it suddenly was working again. They don't even bother to post an "out of order" sign when the machine doesn't work. They don't restock very well or in a timely manner. There's been a lot of times where no food was on the grill or my favorite drinks were sold out. They got a new Point-of-Sale system that nobody knows how to use. Instead of 4 employees on 4 registers there's 4 employees on 1 register trying to figure it out. Lastly, they got rid of their self-checkout kiosk; between that & the untrained employees the lines get long. Skip this place, you'd be better off going to the Weigl's across the street.

Once you get out there are not many places to stop for fuel, snacks or to use the restroom. Stephen's Grocery and Hardware has a large selection of things from your basic C-Store items to some things for camping or minor household repair. The day we stopped there were numerous other customers in line making small purchases. NOTE: The restroom inside the store is locked and there is a sign saying for customer use only, so you have to make a purchase to get the key. I guess this is to stop the random tourist from coming in for a bathroom break. The restroom was clean and neat and worked on our stop. The prices of the C-Store items are much higher than what you will find in larger chain C-Stores but they probably pay a lot more buying in smaller quantity and there is not any competitor in the area.

There's a grocery section with way more than your typical convenience store. (Be sure to try the bologna and cheese. I don't remember the story but I know it's local and it's awesome.) There's a hardware section that will allow you to fix just about any basic emergency. There's a feed-store section too - if you have dogs, cats, horses, goats, chickens (and we do! All of the above!), they've got you covered. There's also a gas station. Out front is all the normal stuff, with automatic pumps. Off to the side, you can get diesel and 100% gasoline (no ethanol or other additives). No credit card reader there, so you have to go inside, but nice to have. We're putting 100% in our two supercharged vehicles right now and my husband is sure it makes a difference. ;-)
