I have been going here since I was child and have had my son here for years and never up until this point have I decided it was time for a new doctor. I scheduled updated shots and wrote a note for what exactly was needed so that my sister could take him. Dr.Modi gave my child a full blown physical without any verbal Communication what's so ever!! My four year old had to ask what she was doing. Modi continued prior with saying he is overweight and had a dirty face because of a milk mustache mind you he's 4. These are kids and there is no reason to be unprofessional and unkind. I know even as an adult doctors give you some sort of confirmation before removing any clothing or physical search. Honestly I have 8 kids going here. My husband went today for vaccines for our baby with our little ones, one of which is disabled. They had them waiting for an extensive amount of time. When he asked for a copy of vaccines they rudely said it would take a long time if he wanted. We use to live Dr Modi, but even her attitude has changed and she has become very argumentative about nonsense things. I told her my baby was throwing up her milk and she proceeded to debate me as to the reasons and I was there to figure out why. I'm guessing she's frustrated. Her staff competence and care has deteriorated just like her patience. I will be moving my kids somewhere else. All the reasons we loved about the office are no longer reality. Its 2:00 and we're still here waiting. There are FOUR FAMILIES (including ours) waiting to see the doctor. Two families outside, and two families in the waiting rooms. My five-year-old daughter needed her well-baby appointment, and our old pediatrician was no longer practicing. My wife and I searched the Emanate Health website and found a pediatrician near our home. The soonest they could see my daughter was in two weeks. We showed up to Dr. Modi's office thirty minutes early to ensure we were on time. We were informed when we arrived that the Dr. would not be in the office until 1100 am, which was our appointment time. While sitting in the waiting room, we noticed some of the walls and baseboards were filthy. Although they had a cartoon on the lobby TV, there wasn't much for a child to do while they waited. Once 1100 am arrived, we were advised that the doctor had still not shown up. Since my daughter was restless, I took her outside to walk around. While outside, I observed Dr. Modi arrive in a brand new Mercedes Benze in the rear parking lot. Instead of parking, she waited inside the car parked against the curb. Suddenly, all of her office staff exited the office excited to see the doctor's new car. At this time, it was fifteen minutes past our scheduled appointment. I returned to the office and told my wife why Dr. Modi was late for our appointment. We decided to leave without seeing the doctor due to her willingness to make us wait while she showed off her new car to her staff. I had read several reviews on Yelp about the long waits and run-down facility. I should have trusted my fellow Yelpers and declined to make an appointment with this doctor. This office needs a lot of work and so does the staff. First of all it's hard to get an appointment because they don't answer the phone and the exchange. They have better hours than bankers. They don't read or go over the paperwork. I specifically put I was a guardian and they assumed I was the mom. Then whoever it was lied to the doctor and said she asked me if I was the mom and I said yes, when in fact no one asked and my nephew (teenager) was there. Dr Modi seemed really cold not a personable doctor. She performed the physical but didn't touch base on much. Lastly, we were told we were done w our visit but nothing like "you'll receive a referral for ENT". No kind of information. Kinda sad for a pediatrician office. read more

Dr. Modi used to be my pediatrician and I am so grateful that she is now my sons. My son is a newborn and when I came in with multiple questions (as a new mom would) she was SO patient and kind. She answered all questions thoroughly and even checked my son with such care and took her time with him despite other patients coming in. The prior pediatrician we had didn't even check my sons vitals or anything when we went to his first appointment and I knew that was not acceptable. Just moved to the area and was in search of a good pediatric office, and decided on going to Dr. Modi's office. I could not be happier with my decision and will be coming here for all 3 of my children! My daughter was sick with a really bad stomach virus and needed an immediate appointment. They were able to squeeze her into the schedule SAME DAY, even as a new patient! The front staff was very helpful and welcoming, office was clean and kid friendly; but most of all the N.P. Renee Payne who examined my daughter was absolutely outstanding! She was so personable and friendly with my daughter (who was extremely sick and nervous to see the doctor); and with me she was very knowledgeable and really took the time to listen and answer all my concerns. She scheduled my daughter for an immediate abdominal scan and labs at Emanate which was completed and reviewed again same day...and she called me back right away to discuss results and treatment plan. I was able to pick up meds that evening! As a mom/parent we all know how important it is to feel heard and have our children cared for right away especially when they are so sick, I was so impressed by how quickly my daughter was seen and treated and how nice and knowledgeable NP Payne was; she even called me back a few days later to answer more questions that I had. We call Dr. Modi our vacation dr, because we don't actually live in the area and visit family there frequently. Her office has now accommodated us three times last minute because of our kids being sick while on vacation. Best part is, she was patient and didn't give unnecessary antibiotics or medications because she didn't feel it was necessary. Many other dr's would have easily done that. Ive been taking my two girls to Dr. Modi for about 4 years now . Alex is the one im usually comfortable with and she always knows who i am or what i need . Although im sure shes very busy she never hesitates to helps me out! The wait times have recently become longer then usual and ive had to come back the last 3 times or reschedule after waiting for sometime, which is unfortunate . After our twins were born, my fiancee and I decided to go with Dr. Modi because she was present during their birth. We figured she would be the best bet for them since she had been there since day 1. On her very first visit into our hospital room she literally coughed on both of our hours old girls. Didn't cover her mouth or even apologize. That should have been enough for us to decide to go with another doc but i gave her the benefit of the doubt; told myself it was an accident. On our first visit to her office we had made an appointment for 11 am. There was 1 other family in the office. It took 1 hour to be seen and this trend continued sometimes waiting even longer. If you make an appointment be prepared to wait AT LEAST 1 hour. So we finally see her and guess what? shes coughing up a lung again as she's hovering over our girls. she gives them a once over and sends us on our way. That's another thing; every visit felt rushed. she barely handled the girls and any of our concerns seemed to be brushed off. for example, we noticed both of our girls heads were lopsided/flat and her initial response was "oh that's normal, just give them more tummy time" not even taking into consideration or even informing us that twins, especially preemies like one of ours was; are susceptible to a form of skull misalignment called palgiocephaly. If she had taken the time to at least inform us that they possibly could have that, we would have taken them straight to a specialist a lot sooner. now, 5 months in it turns out both our girls have that (1 severely) and will need special helmets to help readjust their little skulls. Our other girl was constantly spitting up. Modis response "oh that's normal too" she gave us a prescription for a special formula. That's it. no tips on what to do to calm her spitting up, no advice. just a prescription and sent us on our way. Now being a Dr you would assume she would mention any special handling or instructions that go along with this new formula. She didn't. We only found out later by another Dr that indeed that formula is to be set for 5 mins before feeding and he gave us advice on how to help her to keep spitting up (interrupt feeding every 2 mins and burp). Now you may be asking yourself " why didn't you look this stuff up yourself?" we did but one would assume our girls physician, the one to guide us and help with their well being would be there and give us all the information and advice we requested and needed. She is incompetent. plain and simple. Looking through other reviews it appears other have had issues with her coughing, long wait times and sub par service. She is a low grade Dr. She is board certified. I looked that up but she does not participate in the maintenance of her certification (MOC). This is directly from certificationsmatter.org: " Participating in maintenance of certification (MOC) means a doctor continues to meet the requirements of his or her medical specialty board for ongoing learning or assessment. A doctor participating in MOC shows a commitment to life-long learning and self evaluation, and is engaged in measuring and improving his or her practice." Bottom line, if you are not ok with low grade medical work with no attention to detail and are also not ok with putting your child's health and well-being on the line, stay away from this practice. I brought my newborn for her first check with the pediatrician at 2 days old. YOU NEVER GET A 2ND CHANCE FOR A 1ST IMPRESSION. There was no separate entrance for sick kiddos. ( I let that pass.) When we were finally seen the nurse COUGHED in the crook of her arm and I said "are you sick?" She replied "Yeah, it's just a little cold but I'm ok. We're understaffed and you know, I gotta keep working!" OH HELL NO. I said "Really? And you're around kids, infants and newborns all day?" She later said that she can put a mask on and use hand sanitizer if that "made me feel better." I was livid. I'm bringing in my brand new, 2 day old newborn for a check up and it's ok for her to be sick because they're "UNDERSTAFFED"?! What parent would be ok with this?! At least this nurse was friendly and gentle with my baby. Ok I thought...maybe the doc would make up for this.... NOPE! When Dr. Modi finally came in, there was no warmth, no introduction, no greeting and she was in there for less than 5 mins. This was our very first appointment and this is the way I'm first meeting the pediatrician for my new baby. UNACCEPTABLE. Dr. Modi coughed and I asked her if she was sick. She replied "No! It's just allergies...when I smell certain things I cough!" Are you fucking kidding me? That was it for me, in addition to her not even taking out her stethoscope to examine my baby. She only checked her skin, opened her diaper and checked her hips. THAT'S IT. She didn't even put the diaper back on or even try to comfort/talk to my baby as she was crying from being naked and cold. She then asked me "so do you have any questions?" That was the end of the "examination". I asked a few questions and she was condescending and cold, and told me she'd see my baby again in a week. It's already hard enough to find a doc who cares, especially for your kids. I'm so disappointed this meeting was a huge let down. Workplace culture, attitude and service start from the top, down. It then made sense to me why it was "ok" for the sick nurse to come to work...it's because the boss (Dr.Modi) has low standards and seemingly doesn't care. The one plus side to this 1st and last visit: there was a student doc shadowing Modi. His name was Luke and he was warm and friendly. He introduced himself to me and my father in law who was with me, shook our hands and smiled. Dr. Modi was our pediatrician at San Dimas Community Hospital when my daughter was born. When she came to "Examine" her she was very cold, and pretty rough with the new born baby. She made no attempt to soothe her, talk to her or even ask her name. She was condescending, rude, and seemed like it was a bother for her to leave her office to come to the hospital. My experience with Dr Modi was a negative 10. I visited her with my then three month old who had colic and reflux. Dr. Modi was very bothered by my multiple questions and my baby's constant crying. And she asked why I was so upset? I wondered why she was a pediatrician if her patience level was as such. What mother with a baby who is constantly throwing up, underweight and obviously having stomach/acid issues would NOT be upset! What a huge insult to me and my distressed child! She only suggested changing formula to soy or a different brand, which I had already done twice in only three months, and I had told her that initially. Continuously changing formula is a bad idea and I knew that and I'm not a Dr! No other suggestions were made. I left feeling horrible and no better off then when I came. I ended up taking my daughter to a gastrointestinal specialist, referred by my next AWESOME Dr, and she was given weight gainer, prescription gas drops and a much needed prescription formula. Had I listened to Dr Modi, my daughters condition would have most likely worsened. That is per the specialist. A referral was never offered by Dr Modi nor gas drops etc... Needless to say motherly instincts are always to be trusted. My instincts paid off and I will never ever refer this Dr to anyone. read more

I called twice and the first time got the answering machine and left a message that stated I would get a call back inn24-58 hours and 2 days later still no call, I called the office again and this time the answering service answered. When I let them know why I was calling and needed someone to call me back they put me through to the back line. Friday after my daughters appointment they were suppose to put in a referral for a therapist. I was told to call back Monday and see if the lady put it in. Figured wait a day or two so I called Wednesday. And I got the answering service again, and left a message didn't get a call back so I calle again Thursday. And the stupid service answers AGAIN! I told her take this message I am callings my insurance and I am filing a grievance against them. How is it possible that you can never get through! So today is Friday and the office finally called me back, and I kept it 100% real. I let the office staff know that as a parent I do not fill that this office is the right fit for my daughter. If I can't get a hold of someone at anytime I don't feel safe if something was to happen to my daughter. I was upset about this, because I'd dealt with this doctor before when my daughter was a baby and I HATE this doctor. She's rude, not very thorough, does not answer questions clearly, the waiting room is dirty, and you never wait less than 40 minutes. Even if you're the first person of the day. I can't imagine why the wait is so long since the doctor spends less than a few seconds with each patient. I think she spends 90% of her day, sitting in her office with her thumb up her nose, playing video poker. Not to mention the nurse always refers to my son as "she," even when he's stark naked and his baby ding dong is staring her in the face. Go to doctor tukaj, in Glendora. I'm writing this in the waiting room it's 12:19 and my appointment was at 11:15. The wait time runs a little long even though I bring my kid in before her appointment time every time. I wouldn't like to come in for an appointment if I had somewhere to be right after. They have toys in the open area which is nice and they're always getting new toys.
