I was told I could come in for a free exam, but once I arrived, I received only a few minutes with the doctor before being asked to pay a new-patient fee. During that first visit, I explained that my insurance required a preauthorization from the doctor before an MRI could be approved. I even called my insurance company while I was there to confirm the process and relayed that information directly to the office. On my second visit, I was presented with a treatment plan that would cost around $1,000 out of pocket, without any meaningful discussion with the doctor beforehand. It felt like the focus was on selling a treatment plan rather than addressing my concerns. The doctor doesn't take the time to identify your issue before delivering a treatment plan! . After three weeks of treatment with no improvement, I followed up about the MRI authorization. I called first thing in the morning and was told I would receive a call back as soon as the doctor arrived. By 4 PM, I still had not heard anything, so I called again. The woman who answered the phone seemed annoyed that I was asking about something I had already discussed with the office from day one. Instead of helping me, she was rude and ultimately hung up on me. My biggest frustration is that I took the time to understand my insurance requirements, spoke directly with my insurance company, and clearly explained everything the office needed to do. Despite that, the office never followed through on the required authorization process and acted as if the information had never been provided. The office staff member acted as if she had the authority to make medical decisions and speak on behalf of the doctor, which was incredibly frustrating. Simply I wasn't looking for guesses, opinions, or an over-the-phone diagnosis--I needed answers directly from the doctor regarding my care and MRI authorization. Instead, I was met with arrogance, dismissive behavior, and a complete lack of professionalism. This practice was a nightmare to deal with. The disorganization, poor communication, and unacceptable treatment of patients raise serious concerns about how the office is run. Based on my experience, I believe this practice should be reported to the Better Business Bureau and the appropriate professional oversight organizations. Stay away!!!!!!

The nurse practitioner can't write a prescription for narcotics. I had knee replacement surgery on 2/27/26, with PT 3 times a week. So I need a form of pain medicine to manage the pain. Well, my appointment was at 7:50am at the Port Orange, FL location. Had the appointment paid my copay and went on about my day. At 4:00pm I noticed that I hadn't received a notification from my pharmacy to pick up my prescription. Florida Pain Management closes at 4:30pm. I called and spoke with someone named Sarah. She stated she would put a rush on getting my information into the doctor so that it got to the pharmacy in time before closing. Well would you guess what???? YOU GOT IT. The office closed. I HAVE NO MEDICATION TO TAKE. That leaves me to try and reach my surgeon OR to go to the nearest ER for pain medication to at least get me through the weekend. WHY SHOULD I INCUR A ER BILL FOR A PRESCRIPTION THAT FLORIDA PAIN MANAGEMENT WAS PAID TO WRITE???? Why should I be jumping through hoops at all??? I should be at rest. I have only received one treatment for Dr. Stephenson (I was on vacation when I visited her for treatment) but I had been carrying around pain behind my shoulder blades for years, and it would flare up, get better, flair up again. I had seen every doctor I could, had x-rays, did physical therapy and even visited an arthritis specialist to have blood tests done to try and find anything that relieved the pain, but nothing did. Beth took the time not only to listen to my complaints and health history, but to ask deeper and more meaningful questions that lead to finding the causes of all of the pain in my shoulder blades. In one treatment, I felt the pain leave my shoulder, down through my fingertips, like hot lava pouring out. The relief was amazing!!
