Requiring and seeking legal counsel can be a very intimidating and even scary experience. However, Claire flips that right on its head. She is so patient and kind and you can tell by the way she listens and responds that she really cares about her clients. What can I say, after two weeks of trying to get a hold of her for consultation, and them switching our appointment last minute a couple of times, she finally calls. During our conversation I mention that the AT&T is doing cell tower maintenance in our area and reception isn't great. So 5 minutes into our call, the call disconnected. You think she called back ? KNOWLEDGEABLE, RELIABLE, AND HIGH VALUE In the last two years working with Claire we've launched four new companies, given out tons of shares and dealt with all sorts of employment, compensation, and general business needs that Claire has expertly provided support for. She's held my hand through the whole process with a sincerity and level of caring I did not expect from a former big firm attorney (and a big one at that!). EXPERTISE I was surprised at how many local startups use Claire already, including several parents at my son's elementary school! It's rare to ever run into an issue that Claire can't answer in a prompt and cost effective manner. When she does get stumped she always informs me of the need to research further and gets back to me in a timely manner. I'm an experienced entrepreneur but I tend to gloss over details or sometimes be a little too generous when it comes to compensation and equity. Claire keeps me in check when I'm getting a little too happy with the options and I know with a recent 8 figure valuation for one of my properties she ended up saving me potentially millions! She's very well connected and has an extensive referral network when my needs exceed her expertise and offerings. FEES/RATES I'm not a big fan of lawyers and their big fees and retainers but I was pleasantly surprised by Claire's competitive rates and I like the fact that she doesn't bill you in 15 minute increments if she happens to "think" about your case while on the can! Yes, I've had lawyers bill me for thinking on the crapper. I used some fixed cost packages to get the businesses started and hourly rates for general follow up and smaller needs like offer letters, equity/compensation issues. I hate getting bills, especially from lawyers but I've always been pleasantly surprised by her bills. This does not mean she's a bargain basement lawyer. You get what you pay for and you are paying for an experienced, caring, and thoroughly competent and experienced lawyer who is definitely on your side. One of the most no-brainer endorsements ever!!!
