I joined the KFS 4-week challenge and I couldn't be happier with the result. KFS staff and PTs are dedicated and knowledgeable and provide great support and guidance. Ellie is the most gorgeous person. It's fun to work with Alochen. Rahul is super kind and supportive. I'm in my last week of the challenge and I can't wait to see the results, but I can already feel the change and I intend to stick to the nutrition and exercise habits I acquired during the challenge. I'm almost done the 6 week challenge. Pros: there's not a lot of people normally there so lots of space to try new machines with little wait time. The group lift classes are pretty fun and the trainers I had for the classes were great. Cons: the meal plan for the 6 week challenge is pretty bad, I had to do my own thing. Some of the machines could use some maintenance. All in all, I'm glad I did it, the 6 week challenge is a good way to get back to the gym if you're trying to get out of a slump read more

Found it interesting it took three months to address this and that the only thing that was addressed was my comment on the gear provided and not on the fact that I was accosted by a fellow gym member. Might want to clear that up so that your members feel safe. As for equipment, yes there's lots of gear to choose from and you can get creative with the gear that you have there. :) read more

Joined for the 6 week challenge! The personal trainers are great and knowledgeable, however the training times are a bit limited due to the timing of the TBS classes. The gym is not as busy as most gyms which is really nice! The biggest downside is that they don't have many early morning classes and personal training options. Overall it was a good experience and I would recommend it to others. read more

I stepped into the Kalev Gym and met with Samer after I saw the AD on Facebook for the 6 week challenge. At the beginning, I had a big doubts about the program and wasn't sure if it actually will work for me. I work full time and is busy with social activities so haven't been into any gym for 5 month. My weight was gained and body fat was increased and I really hoped someone/a program that will work for me and help me to start the routine. Even though, im still unsure about the organ but sam followed up with me and encouraged me to join and even try a free class with Kalev to feel it. Then I feel like it is real and doable. I finally signed up. My trainer was Kataryna, she is professional and very attention to detail, and knows nutrition and training both very well. She is not just showing up for the session she needs to do for me, but she also keeps check on me for my diet and home work outs. With her help and encouragement, I started to tell myself, I need to treat this seriously . And I did. I trained my self 5 times a week, I watch my diet. And I lost 11 ponds in 4 weeks, and body fat was reduced by 4.2%. I'm so excited to shared this here with everyone. Yes you can do it as long as you wants to do it! I must say, after completing the 4 week challenge, I feel like I got a new lease on life and feel like a new self. I am now starting the new year off right with great new habits. Forming habits are the hardest part I found and this is the best takeaway I got after finishing the challenge. I have followed the diet and the workout plan they laid out for me and have diligently worked out 5 times a week for 4 weeks. The end result is that lost 11.2 pounds and 7.4% body fat at the end of 4 weeks. My amazing trainer Levi crafted a workout plan that was right for me and I received a lot of support and encouragement from the staff. I really like the gym, and the trainers are awesome. They have professional cleaners around the clock wiping and cleaning the facility and there are sanitizing stations and wipes throughout the gym. Through this challenge, not only did I meet my goal in losing the body fat, I was able to reset my health and form healthy eating habits as as well that I will carry forward for the rest of my life. As good as the challenge was and I feel whether or not the goal is reached, 500$ is a good investment to get the ball rolling on personal fitness, absolutely no one was clear with me on the fact that I would be charged $39.97 per WEEK post challenge. After being charged this a couple of times, I was shocked, and appalled that I had been misled especially with the admin's knowledge that my fiance and I run a community meal program out of pocket literally half a block away from his business. He was also aware that I was starting school and failed to tell me plainly and clearly how much I was going to be charged and how frequently. After asking multiple times to cancel and get out of my contract (which my emails were often not replied to for 2-3 days at a time), he evaded my asking the next steps on cancellation, and instead sent me the "cheapest option" which would still be $140.00/MONTH. I did some googling, and found out that it is within everyone's legal consumer rights to be able to CANCEL continuing services within TEN DAYS OF RECIEVING A COPY OF THE CONTRACT. Luckily they hadn't given me one initially, and I had to ask for a copy which I didn't actually get until two days later. There is a form which you can find here : https://www.consumerprotectionbc.ca/consumer-help/cancelling-a-gym-membership/ which I filled in and emailed to KalevFitness, and it wasn't until then that I got an actual prompt response that my membership has been terminated. As wonderful as the trainers are at KalevFitness, I cannot see any way one can reasonably justify a $140-$160/month gym membership. When I told my trainer it was likely to be our last session, she did not seem surprised whatsoever, and was very helpful in ensuring I had all the workouts she had written down for me so I can continue my personal health efforts. I understand fully that I signed a contract, and yes, I should have looked at the fine print more carefully. I did try to bring in my fiance to look at the contract with me, but he was turned away at the door due to 'covid protocols'. When I went in to do my final weigh in for the challenge and see the contract for continuing services, I was praised for my efforts in the challenge and made to feel comfortable & at ease. Then small talk took over. Like I said, I don't remember a single time I was told plainly and clearly that this was going to be a $160.00/month membership. (leaving my initial review here) I completed the 6 week challenge they had advertised on facebook. The goal is too lose 6% body fat. I came in at 5.5%, but fortunately for me as a student, my 500$ was put towards 26 weeks worth of membership and training. In 6 weeks I went from 255lbs to 235lbs. Kalev has a a wonderful group of trainers and nutrition experts that will set you up for success. My main trainer was Paula - she was nothing but positive, supportive, and detailed. If i was ever unsure of what to do, all the other trainers were approachable and happy to answer any question I had. read more

The facilities and staff are nice and parking nearby is often free and available. Tried my first class (Power, speed and agility) at Kalev that I registered through classpass and I was quite surprised how well it went. Initially I registered thinking it was a spin class and was a bit worried when I found out when I arrived that it was more of a intense cross fit training class! The instructor was very friendly and was very attentive to all. It was a small class of 6 people that consisted training with kettlebells, row, chestpress, mountain climbers and several other cardio and ab workouts. Everyone went on their own pace and it was not intimating at all. The facility is very clean and modern with towel service, water, shower and locker. And you are also allowed to use their gym facility 30 min before your class. Overall a good experience and would like to come back after I recover from my sores from the awesome workout! read more

This place is awesome! I was looking for a spot in downtown to work out and I'm glad I came here. The space is large yet feels very intimate. The Equipment is all modern and the community is very welcoming. I joined their challenge program for which I am grateful I did. This place definitely knows how to get you on a path to a healthier you. I finished the 4 week challenge which was an impetus to getting me back on track with a regular exercise routine. They are so knowledgeable not only about physical fitness, but also nutrition as well. All the instructors are excellent and I love how they alternate teaching the classes so it's very well rounded. Being in the midst of a pandemic, they have implemented social distancing precautions to ensure you stay safe while staying physically fit. I also love that I can do workouts at home but feel like I'm getting just as good a workout as if I were in the gym.
