The instructors are patient, encouraging, and clearly care about the kids growing as people--not just learning martial arts. As a parent, it's been amazing to watch my child grow both on and off the mat. The school has a strong reputation in the community, and you can really see that in the quality of instruction and the positive environment they create for the kids.

We want to share our experience with Ripple Effect to help parents make informed decisions. We…read moreenrolled at Ripple Effect in 2024, but left due to hidden costs, aggressive sales tactics, and long-term commitments. Here's the bottom line: * Extremely expensive: Ripple Effect is the priciest martial arts school in the Longmont/Boulder area. After an initial period of $300 during the First Wave, expect to $450/month (compared to $135-$270/month at other schools). Completing their program costs over $30,000. * First Wave Gotcha: Be aware the First Wave involves signing a one-year contract. The catch? You can finish the First Wave curriculum in less than a year, and they start pushing the Leadership Program within 3-6 months. This one-year contract seems designed to lock you in and pressure you to upgrade. * "Leadership Program" lock-in: Your child will be invited to join this program in 3-6 months, requiring a 50% price increase, a multi-year contract, and a 6+ year commitment to reach 2nd-degree black belt. It's the only way to advance, which forces you to agree or start over at another school (after riding out the rest of the 1st Wave Contract). * Lack of transparency: Ripple Effect isn't upfront about the Leadership Program's cost and commitment. They avoid providing anything in writing. They hook you with a low initial price, then spring the expensive upgrade later, making it difficult to say no. * High-pressure sales: All sales conversations happen in person in a backroom. They use a calculated process that includes obfuscated language, fabricated urgency, a flattering "nomination" ceremony for your child, and skilled salespeople employing emotional appeals and pre-rehearsed responses to objections. Again, making it hard to say no. * Good for kids, but pricey: Ripple Effect does motivate kids and offers a well-structured program with staff who care (though classes can be crowded and impersonal). However, many other excellent schools in the area provide similar quality at much more affordable prices and no hidden gotchas. Our advice: Visit multiple schools, compare programs and pricing, and ask Ripple Effect direct questions about the cost and commitment of their Leadership Program before enrolling.

We absolutely love the staff and other members of this club. Sensei Willie, his wife and staff genuinely care for the kids. They teach them values, skills, and discipline in every class while maintaining fun interactions for all ages. My grandson loves going to Karate. If you are looking for a Karate Club I recommend Colorado Karate Club in Brighton. I also appreciate the time they take to speak with us regarding anything, and the support they offer to each student. All the Sensei's are always asking if everything is ok and how things are at home. Again, I can't express just how much they care about their students!!! Thank you Colorado Karate Club staff for always welcoming us!

The instruction is terrific and my children love going to their classes. They are taught in a way that is easy for them to understand, follow and learn and at the same time they are presented with challenges that keep them interested, entertained and give them the desire to learn and achieve the goals that are laid out before them. Sensei Willy is an incredible instructor and is wonderful with children. He is patient, encouraging, understanding and very helpful. There is also a strong sense of family throughout the dojo and it's just an overall wonderful environment for adults and children alike. The classes are also very affordable, which allowed us to the opportunity to send our children here. I'm thrilled that we've enrolled our children here and plan for them to continue for many years to come.
