My goal was to look good in my dress, and Greg was really responsive to that, even taking into account the fit and style (it was open backed and my shoulders looked AMAZING, in case you were wondering). He developed a training program for me that really targeted my personal goal, but that sneaky guy also managed to turn me into a person who enjoys working out. Me! A human with all the athletic grace of a newborn giraffe and the stamina of an asthmatic hamster. I was an adult woman who still had nightmares about gym class, but very soon into my time training with Greg I was HAVING FUN AT THE GYM! It helps that Greg himself has an easy and playful personality. He's not judgmental or intimidating and he really does a good job of matching whatever kind of energy you're needing that day to get the most out of your workout. I think what I most appreciate is Greg's holistic approach, so even if your goal is simply weight loss, Greg is thinking about composition, retaining muscle and mobility as the scale goes down, and never losing sight of how you're feeling in your body. And that brings me to where this review gets a bit deeper and more personal. About a year after my wedding I gave birth to my first child in the middle of the lockdown. I had severe pain during my pregnancy and no access to things like PT or a pool; by the end I could hardly walk and had gained 80lbs. Postpartum the pain continued, nothing was damaged, but I was now dealing with a chronic pain condition and really needed rehabilitation. I worked with a PT and medical team, but when it comes down to it, the person who I can really attribute the bulk of my recovery to is Greg. We started working together again after lockdown, and Greg showed his true flexibility and expertise. He walked a fine line of helping me recondition my body without triggering pain flare ups, constantly adapting, pushing a bit harder when possible, pulling back when necessary, and boosting my morale through the whole frustrating process. Even my PT was impressed by the work I was doing with Greg and counted it as a key element to my ongoing recovery. So now I can thank Greg not only for terrific wedding photos, but for the ability to crouch down to play with my son, to chase him on the playground, to lift him in my arms. He was able to work with my availability and kept me accountable for my goals. As a trainer, he would cheer me on for just pushing myself a little more each time. Having…read moreadhered to his personalized training regimen and diet, I have since lost 63 lbs. over six months and have gone from never deadlifting in my life to pulling four plates off the floor. I still ride that adrenaline high! Personally, I have been fat and sedentary my whole life, peaking in adulthood where my job as an accountant solidified my inactive lifestyle. Coupled with the physical and mental implications of the pandemic, my health was at an absolute low. Cue Charles. Charles is a very observant and knowledgeable person. Never having experienced personal training, his ability to pinpoint various weaknesses in my positioning and movement and then subsequently correcting them was like magic to me. His simplified explanations also made following his regimen incredibly easy to adapt to. He knows when to push the limits and when to bunker down to make sure something is being done correctly to avoid injury. Through his careful observation and guidance, he was able to recognize and develop my latent strength (which I didn't even know I had), and it culminated in that four plate deadlift! I had only wanted to lose weight, so this newfound strength is a pleasant and welcome surprise! Another boon I hadn't expected when I started working with Charles is the ability to have a conversation with him about health fads and myths. For example, I had my doubts about the diet of salmon, meat, potatoes, eggs, and bread he had recommended to me since my own research spoke highly of chicken, but the result speaks for itself. Adhering to his diet, I have exceeded my original weight loss goal of 60 lbs., and based on the fitness app he has me use, my muscle mass, skeletal muscle, and protein levels (amongst other things) have had a steady positive trend while my cholesterol and glucose levels, based on a recent physical, have had a negative trend! I know that the success in my nascent fitness journey is my own, but I recognize that my progress is heavily influenced by Charles and his supportive expertise. I am a genuinely happier, more motivated, and more confident person these days. I look forward to my continued training sessions. I can't help but think about what I can achieve in the future, especially when the results I have now are only the result of six months!

Janie's got a gun!…read more Okay...she really doesn't but there's just something about her that is intimidating enough that you want to push yourself and not disappoint her but she's also hilarious and puts you at ease. I've done her boot camps twice now and am already looking to set up a 3rd. I have never experienced such an ass-kicking that left me wanting more! Both camps were very different and I've heard they'll always be varied. During the 1st one we slung sledgehammers onto industrial sized tires, flipped oblong punching bags down the side of a building while incorporating squats, jumped rope and much more. This past session we threw 12 lb medicine balls at the wall, drug a weighted tire around outside, threw sand bags over our shoulders, did group sit ups while hooking elbows and other "fun" things. I joke about "fun" but it REALLY is!! The 1st time I went I was sore for 4 days, it felt like someone kicked me down the sides of my rib cage and visiting the restroom seemed like a geriatric event...but it truly hurt so good. I love Jane, her facilities and her techniques. I'm looking forward to making it a part of my regular routine once I get over being sick.
