Parking is easy in the UH lot--pricey, and a bit of a walk to the stadium, but there's plenty of spaces, and since we went early, we didn't have to wait in line of cars to park. We were also able to find a shady place outside the stadium to wait until the doors opened. Hopefully I'm not the only one who attends baseball games almost as much for the food as for the game. The options at the stadium were impressive! For me, it's not a baseball game without a hot dog, so of course that was what I ate, but there were so many types of dogs & toppings available, fancy lemonade drinks, and other things. It was a foodie event! Thanks to Rani R for selecting seats that wouldn't subject us to the setting sun, we were comfortable for the entire late-afternoon game. I'm so glad to have experienced another UH sporting event that I thoroughly enjoyed. We are going to have to do that again next season! Heads up, like other sporting events, the stadium requires that you carry your belongings in a clear bag, and sites specific measurements for them. We were lucky to have some on hand. I'm not sure if it was the norm, but despite the requirement, I did not see anyone enforcing the rule, nor checking bags.

It's a viiibe once you get into the stadium because you are greeted with all UH baseball fans dripped with some cool UH swag. The field has gotten a major facelift since the last time I attended a game ! The baseball field is 100 percent turf and designed to reflect the school's colors. There are many vendors to choose from when you are on the second floor concourse. I ordered summer rolls and Chicken from Olay's Thai and was completely satisfied! The service was okay. I felt like there were no ushers available in our section to help direct us to our seats. We also wanted to order Miller lite beer at first, but something was apparently wrong with the keg connected to their line at the time. Will def be back to get some Pogmosa and try a hotdog!

Security was posted within the audience seated throughout the concert. The ac was strong. An older crowd in the audience. The row in front of us had their heads bobbing to the music. The performer had local guests sing a duet with him, had BYU choir on stage, the Honolulu symphony Orchestra plus his own band performing. Glad there were two large screens to see Josh Groban sing. Helps when large and tall people sit in front of you at the last possible moment. Felt almost like a gospel vibe to me but could be cuz I was not familiar with the majority of his songs.

It's so off and confusing to where it's at. But, it is a decent place to have most events! If it's for a concert... Like we just went to for UB40? UH DUH!!! TOTALLY % YES!!! Why? Cause you'll be able to enjoy the show and SEE IT from the seats your in rather than watch los rod it ON A JUMBO SCREEN. Plus too, there are different choices of seating. Most people love the UPPER LEVELS. Yet, the stairs are a killer! AND... NO BARS so everything is balance and grace. But if your like me who USE TO LOVE IT, but don't anymore cause you worry your legs will give... well, there's the ground floor that has bleachers of seats. The seats are so much better NOW than they were before. So, highly recommend the ground floor for those who refuses to walk up stairs. Then there's the lodges. K those are GREAT, yet, my fear is falling OVER the ledge. And the stairs you MIST WALM UP to get there too! Lol! It's been a while since I've sat in this arena for anything. I think the last time was for a concert back in 2013! LADIES OF THE 80's with the hubby. Hehehe there were so much hubbies there that night. It was unbelievable! Anywho... great place to be at for events, concerts and whatnot. But terrible place to use heels and tight clothes (if you know what I mean) Oh! Prices varies with type of events and I truly honestly believe it's absolutely RIDICULOUS sometimes. However, I get it, bills must be paid and people must be bought to make the event go smoothly! Okie dokes artichokes! Have a good one and mahalo for reading... CIAO!

I do wish the parking stalls were a little wider. I get that we're in Hawaii and space is limited but geez man it's like getting packed like sardines in that parking structure. Anyway security checkpoint and main entrance was quick and thorough. Just showed the ticket and we were on our way. Food options inside weren't bad. Idk if the burger was good or if I was starving but it is what it is. The Pancit was good, but that banana lumpia that the lady put on top threw everything off lol. It wasn't even sweet. Had a few blue waves and whatever beer the wife got the second round. Pretty sure it was a green bottle. Either which was we sat in lodge 3 row A.... Definitely good seat. Tumua's show was pretty good also wasn't sure what to expect because I wasn't a huge fan. But he's grown on me a bit.

Kamalehua - The Sheltering Tree unfolded like a living memory, each note carrying emotion, each lyric rooted in something deeper than words. Inside the Blaisdell Concert Hall, I felt both present and carried-- drawn into a world shaped by voice, culture, and care. And yet, there was another kind of feeling-- a definite chill that settled in, unexpected, lingering in the balcony air where I sat. It pulled me slowly out of the moment, made distance where there had been connection. So I left at intermission-- not because the performance lacked beauty, but because my body could not stay where my heart wanted to be. Still, I carry what I witnessed: fragments of song, echoes of meaning, and the reminder that even a brief encounter with art can leave something lasting behind. NOTE: BUT, my personal experience was unfortunately cut short. I was seated in the balcony (Row H, the front row), and the AC was blowing cold!!! The temperature there was extremely cold--uncomfortable. I wasn't prepared for it, which made it difficult to stay focused and fully enjoy the performance. I ended up leaving during intermission, which was disappointing given how much I was enjoying the opera itself.

Final score 35-31 This stadium is much smaller than our iconic Aloha Stadium which is being demolished as we speak . Although I've notice you can be up close to the players when they run out of their locker rooms compared to Aloha Stadium. Also the TC Ching field has a lot of food trucks to choose from it's basically wrapped around the entire stadium. I've seen of course beer vendors hot dogs , Burgers, garlic fries , nachos, Thai food, chicken wings, popcorn , steak plates and more . The only thing that's shy of earning 5 Stars rating is they only have Porta potties as restrooms and bleachers type of seating. Sitting for a long time during a football game can really hurt your behind. Plus you do not have a back support so I was getting a back ache near the end of. Okay so, my son and I came out here yesterday for the Dita Holifield's All American Rodeo. Look, I've lived on Oahu for 7 years and only recently heard about this! I've never been to a rodeo before, but I will definitely be making this an annual family tradition ;) My son (age 5) and I had so much fun. The events take place over three days, but I chose Saturday evening (the last day) because it worked with my schedule. Gates opened at 5, but we showed up 7 when the events started. Honestly, I wish I had showed up at 5 so that we could have walked around while there was still daylight. There were events for the kids, but since we arrived at 7, we went straight to the stands. I felt my son didn't really get to enjoy the entire event like he could have. Lesson learned. This event was packed, and lasted approx 2.5 hours. I love that it's located in Waimanalo...AWAY from town. I live in Honolulu, so this was a nice change of scenery. Yes, there are a lot of people who attend this event, but parking wasn't bad. They have police and staff guiding the way, so parking was quick. Surprising, cuz parking always sucks in town. Okay, keep in mind this was my FIRST rodeo. The only expectations I had were: Beer, food, horses, bulls and fine looking cowboys. Welp, they delivered on that! Don't ask me about the specifics of the events because I'm totally clueless on points, level of expertise, and what should be happening. I just went to have a good time. However, the last event was my favorite: Cowboy Hula. I believe there were 6 competitors who signed up for this crazy ass event. No they didn't dance hula. These 6 competitors are given a hula hoop and must stand, or squat, in the middle of the hoop. The object is to STAY IN THE HOOP! If you run out of the hoop, or the bull knocks you out of the hoop, you're out! lol It's like musical chairs, but with bulls. I'd come back just for that! Fun to see who the last man standing is gonna be. The winner this year was a woman, I believe she might have been from Georgia. So overall, they get 5 stars from me. This will have to be updated next year when I experience more of the attractions for the kids, food, etc. Again, I arrived later. We aren't rodeo people, but after seeing those fine looking cowboys, a girl might have to learn, up and relocate to Waimanalo..ya feel me ;)

Cowboys, Cowboys, and Cowboys!!!! Need I say more????…read more New Town & Country Stables has hosted the state's largest rodeo for the past 3 years with over 11,000 in attendance last year! I usually hate going to big events because parking is always a hassle and I tend to get lost in the shuffle. But New Town & Country Stables does an excellent job with managing traffic, in and out of their huge parking lot-even to cross traffic and turn left onto Kalanianaole Highway! And never mind the large crowd. I felt like I was walking into my auntie's house instead of sea of rodeo groupies. Everybody-from the parking attendees to the ticket booth workers to the food vendors-greeted us with warm smiles, offered to take pictures of us, gave my kids gifts, and even fed us bites of fresh sweet funnel cake. The show is loads of fun and guaranteed to keep you at the edge of your seat cheering and rooting for cowboys you don't even know. But the daytime shows are long and HOT with no shade. I suggest you bring a blanket or pad for the butt scalding cement seats, an umbrella for shade, and get yourself some refreshing 'Nalo Made Lemonade. And when that doesn't work...take cover in the stables and cuddle up with a bunnies, feed the goats, pretend to be a cowboy and go for a ride, or relax on miniature horse drawn carriage ride. I attended The All American Rodeo last year and this year and definitely will be there next year! If you can't wait that long there is a Stars-and-Stripes Ranch Sorting event on July 2, 2016 http://thecowboycalendar.com/venue/new-town-country-stables/ that is open and FREE to spectators. I have absolutely no clue what it's about...but cowboys, cowboys, and cowboys! Need I say more???
