This place is just fabulous. Tunbridge Wells is quite lucky in terms of its fine Thai restaurants…read morebut as well as the food being gorgeous, the service here is superb and I just keep on returning. I have been as part of both a large group and as a meal for two, each time the service has been second to none. The waitresses are friendly, helpful and attentive, and if you tell them it is your birthday they will put up a birthday banner, treat you to a free dessert and give you an incense holder to take home. The prices are very reasonable and the atmosphere is relaxed and family friendly. As an alternative to eating in the restaurant, there is also a downstairs bar you can sit in for a more informal meal. I cannot recommend Sucheera enough and was overjoyed to discover that they also offer a takeaway service; my partner was even more impressed that whilst waiting at the bar to collect the takeaway, he received not only complimentary prawn crackers but several bits and pieces from the starters menu to sample also. Due to its excellent service and delicious food it is always busy, so I would recommend booking in advance on the weekends or for larger parties.

It doesn't get more Thai than this... With a recent refurbishment, this restaurant has gone from…read morejust serving gourmet first class Thai food all the way to becoming a little bit Thailand itself nestled in the heart of Tunbridge Wells! It now has it's own Took-Took outside the main entrance to the upstairs, more formal, restaurant, as well as a big Buddha statue out in the garden... But even better than all that (as those in the know might tell you) is the informal downstairs bar/restaurant, which has become reminiscent of a little Thai lockup restaurant/bar that you might find in the heaving bowels of the city centre of Bangkok or on the streets of the costal resort Pattaya. The food here is undeniably top notch... Always served with a friendly smile in the vibrant atmosphere, it's tasty, hearty and wholesome fair. Choose from the usual Tom Yum soups, Pad Thai noodle dishes and multi-coloured curries... And if you're looking for something more original then why not try one of the more unique dishes like the fabulous Goan Fish Curry, which is divine with coconut rice and a portion of aubergine cooked in basil and chill sauce. If you're a vegetarian, then it has to be said the menu's not wild with choice, but still they do offer quite a good selection of vegetable alternatives to the meat dishes. You've also got a good selection of beers downstairs that are served on tap at the small bar. So even if the deserts are a little lame i.e. they're just the usual ice cream dishes that you'd find out in a mediocre Thai hotel resort... This place is still definitely well worth a visit if you've never been before!

We visited this on a very busy Friday evening. There was one young lady waiting the tables who was…read morevery stressed. The service was abysmal but the food absolutely beautiful that was when we did eventually get served. It was such a frustrating evening having to wait so long for everything. I did feel sorry for the waitress but on the other hand you should never accept so many diners if you can't serve them adequately. We waited 40 minutes for our first drink so we ordered another one as they arrived, this did confuse her and I'm glad that we did as the next drinks arrived an hour later. On a more positive note, the food was fresh and delicious. We shared three starters which were all served to perfection. Our main courses arrived so far apart that I had finished mine before the other one had arrived; my partner had to send back his noodles which were served with my main course and were cold by that time. The food would be worth going back for but the service really put us off. We had no apology and we weren't even offered a reason for the appalling service. If they had of been understaffed at the last minute we would understand but we came out none the wiser. Is it always like this? Food fab but I am reluctant to recommend this restaurant too highly just in case the service is always the same. We drove past a few days later and noticed that the bar that they were building is now functional but for my liking it is too near the tables, you would have people looking down on your table as you eat.
