Unless you're of the skinny foot variety like me, and are unable to buy a great deal from Wittner in the first place.. However, given the huge range of shoes in the shop, you should be able to find something that takes your fancy and you can realistically dance the night away in! The quality of the shoes is spoken of in the prices - these babies might be pretty, but they ain't cheap! Given the fashionable and seasonable nature of the shoes that Wittner flogs - this season is all about the wedge, while a few back it was all over the peep toe - the prices can be a bit on the dear side. But if you find the perfect pair, then you must have them!

It wasn't my house, but my trainers were there and now they're gone and they were so new and we'd only just started getting to know one another *sob*. Anyway, whatever, I can get new ones, and this is probably the cheapest Hype Store in Sydney to do just that. It's a permanent clearance outlet, there's a giant range of mens & womens shoes on constant sale, anywhere from $20 on the Last Pair table up to around a hunjy for more premium kicks. It's not crappy loose ends, either, there's some top wheels here from Nike, New Balance, Cons, Asics and heaps more, I'm not a boat shoe guy but I've got my eye on some sweet little leather sandals on the front table...

What I mean by that is that this shop is filled with very sensible, smart and wearable shoes. I think the owner is aiming for the more middle-aged customer, as there is certainly nothing daring or unconventional about their choices. This was a suspicion which was confirmed by a friend who said her Mum religiously buys all her shoes from here. I can picture the mumsyish-looking shopkeeper loving this kind of customer too! There is a wide selection, from winter boots, to work shoes (tonnes of 'em!), to more fun summery shoes, with the odd designer label quietly slipped in. Their quality is matched in price but the shoes looked reliable and wearable enough to make the investment worth it.

And sure, there is a side to this store that is a bit middle-aged - but hey, so by definition are a third of us! In between the court shoes and sensible flats are some much cheaper beaded slides and a collection of quite out-there coloured wedges (so much colour that you'll be hard put to match much beyond basic black and white, but perhaps that's what a true shoe aficionado wants?) It's not a huge shop, but if you're after something beyond the department store staples like Jane Debster and Hush Puppies, it's worth a look. Can't really make a conclusive comment on price as the range is huge - it depends what you're looking for, and whether you can shop in the Sale rack.

The shop assistant certainly gave me that impression when she greeted me with an arched brow and a quick appraisal of my outfit. Happily, I discovered that the prices are actually quite low in this shop, around the $40 mark, but they reflect the quality of the pieces which were largely made of viscose. Also, I'm not sure what demographic the owner of this shop is aiming at. There is the odd nod to teen wear with cut-off T-shirts and lacy black things which the buyer had obviously thought "hmm, semi-naked, that's what young people like right?" But this idea is juxtaposed by putting dresses and twin sets with mumsy prints and bad colour combinations alongside them. I'd be impressed if anyone found something flattering in here. Maybe I'm being too scathing, but I just found myself a little confused in here.
