Living in Montana this was actually my first time going through Deer Lodge. We were meeting a friend and wanted breakfast/lunch. Reading the reviews we decided on the KAFFEINATION STATION. Being a business owner and a restaurant owner. I was thoroughly impressed with the restaurant. It was immaculately clean, including the bathroom that had hand lotion as well. The girls were very friendly and accommodating as well as attentive to our questions. Now for the food...it was good. Two of us had the BLT with avocado, sprouts and soup. Both were great on sourdough toast. Our son had the steak burrito which he plowed through and said it was great. We were very successful in our restaurant because we factored in for three must haves to be successful 1. Atmosphere/decor/cleanliness 2. Staff./friendly/accommodating 3. Food/quality/presentation/and value The KAFFEINATION STATION possessed all three making them an amazing place to eat. After touring a couple of the Museums in Deer Lodge we went across the street to this cute little coffee and lunch place located in an old gas station. They also had a drive through coffee area. The staff were very friendly and cheerful delivering our meals quickly. It was taco Tuesday which is tough for me because I'm pretty picky when it comes to tacos. My preference is a Street Taco with robust flavors. The tacos were okay but not my thing, however the price was right. My husbands burrito looked good and he said it was tasty and it was a decent size portion. The real star was their freshly baked cinnamon roll. If I wasn't preparing for a beach trip I would have eaten more of husbands roll. It had a very creamy thick layer of wonderful sweetness on top which would be perfect paired with a cup of coffee. read more

We were visiting Butte during the Montana Folk Festival. Since I was not familiar with the festival and found out about it late the nearest accommodations were in Deer Lodge, just down from Kaffeination Station, so we went there for morning coffee. GREAT little place with a drive thru kiosk that was very busy. We went inside where hubby got coffee and I got iced tea. The tea was peach infused and was perfect: peach flavor with natural peach flavor, not the peach syrup which is too sweet. The woman who took my order and recommended the tea; she also told me they had FRESH cheddar bacon scones just out of the oven. I decided to get one and am I glad I did! It was light and so good, very flavorful with bits of real bacon. Just wish they were open today (Sunday)! read more

We were driving from Hungry Horse to Salt Lake and there was NOWHERE to stop for breakfast on the way. I thought this was a mirage. Great food and coffee and friendly people were a bonus. Since we were getting food to go, the burrito was recommended rather than a croissant due to the ease of eating it in the car. They have vegetarian options as well. read more
